You only make such mistakes if the car ain't yours or you are drunk. If the car is yours, you can mistakenly enter a similar car but immediately you sit in, you'll know you've made a mistake. Only a novice wouldn't notice and would still attempt to start the car. 2 Likes |

EgunMogaji:It happened to me once also, I mistakingly opened another persons car having almost same color with mine , I even entered the car to start it, what brought me back to my senses was the size of it stirring which was bigger than mine, it was funny. 2 Likes |

dokiOloye: I work with Doctors who earn high six figures and they bicycle to work, no car by choice. It's never about the money. Oh and I own all my vehicles in my name before I eventually sell them to make room for others. |

zed7: Bingo. I can visualize opening the door. Where I get confused is all the trying to start the engine stuff. |

EgunMogaji:Problem is,I could get a neat W202 Mercedes for at most 1.5k dollars, but when U factor in shipping which is at least another 1k and customs and co which are at least 350 or more,it turns to another thing. Wanted to buy that 2010 volkswagen golf in early 2015,but when I asked 2 clearing agents d amount to clear it(not d one customs will be harrasing me on d road),they gave me a quotation hovering around 1.2m,I kukuma respect myself. I'm just a minimum wage civil servant,U know.lol 1 Like |

dokiOloye:thats not the problem. i call bullshytt for two reasons 1- nigerians in america are very serious minded. nigerians dont go to america to be car enthausiasts. unless OP was born in america and has never ever visited naija which i doubt cuz any nigerian who has never been in nigeria will not come to NL. nigerians in america who have been to naija save their money to buy house in naija or to buy house in america. they dont waste money changing car like pata 2- if you change cars that often it shows you are unstable and the insurance companies will kill you when it comes to time to pay your monthly insurance. all in all ? a serious minded person cannot own 100 cars in america. this is what illiterate rednecks in the south do. its only illiterate low class white rednecks that buy a bunch of cheap cars. you dont even see serious minded whites doing this type of thing. unless Egunmogaji is trying to tell us that he is a negro redneck lmao 8 Likes |

sukkot:U cannot talk for all Nigerians living in America my oga. Some ppl just want to build a small bungalow in their village, buy a simple older model car he will be using when he comes to naija and go on to pursue their passion while other want to own d biggest house in d village and state capital, drive d latest and most expensive jeeps,in fact, have a convoy of very expensive cars. Speak for Ur self alone bro. My cousin who is a state legislator in poor Ebonyi has over 20 cars/buses now, minus 3 he inherited from his late dad. If add to d ones he has given out it will be at least 40 and he's under 40yrs. Some ppl just have a thing for cars,d way women have a thing for clothes. 3 Likes |

sukkot: Why do u have to generalize? I'm not saying egunmogaji has owned over 100 cars or not, but hey, u can't just generalize, and I don't think he's the type that wants to impress anyone. If u visit cartalk section very well u will know what I'm saying. Claiming to have onwed over 100 cars doesn't mean he has 100 cars parked in his garage. Some people just love cars and it doesn't need to be newer model. many times he has posted on cartalk where he saw a classic abandoned car on a street and next day he already has the car towed to his garage for rebuild, and then later sell after revival, many times. Again, not here to say he's lying or telling the truth, but I don't see why this should be an issue. 1 Like |

This happened to me many years ago in lagos. Then I was driving Honda accord EOD. It was late in the evening when I parked my car, got out to get this very nice barbeque fish from my usual spot. After buying the fish, I walked back to were I parked my car then I opened the drivers side using my car keys bcuz the remote was faulty at the time just to find out I was in the wrong car. Same colour, same model and all. Omo.....the way I jumped out of the car ehn!! Funny enough my car was parked right Infront of the car I mistakenly got into bcuz my car keys was able to open it. |
