I have been superbusy at work lately and a lot of have happened in the past few weeks, my visa application delay being one of them. I give thanks to God. I didn't learn my lesson from my previous refusal apparently grin. I took a calculated risk in using a program that is not directly related or consistent with my previous study to apply for trv. Despite the patent inconsistency. Before I applied for visa, i was given an offer of admission for a program that is directly related to my previous study but because of fees and no hope of funding from the program, I opted for another program that is cheaper but not directly related to my previous study. I knew the risk, yet I took it. It was plain stupidity but I learnt my lesson. Although I managed to convince myself that the two programs are connected, however, it appears the VO does not share my view as enshrined and contained in my sop hence purpose of visit. This does not in any way undermine the importance of an sop. After I submitted my application, It became dawn on me that I messed up, I should have applied with the LLM program notwithstanding the fee. More importantly since a colleague of mine was earlier refused because of the same program. So it is fair to say that I kinda saw it coming grin

A friend of mine used Egypt air to Toronto, he said ok flight. I used Turkish airline; excellent service. I heard Ethiopia is the best amongst the cheap airlines. Turkish airline is not cheap though but less than klm and the rest of them.

Hello everyone, i am kinda new here, but i have read quite a number of things on here and its really helpful. I'm a photographer and filmmaker, Google also says this about me. I already travelled to the US for a short course in filmmaking in 2015. Now i am considering going to canada for a fulltime course of at least a year, checked out a couple of schools, made my choice already and i am about to hit the application process. However, the rules that apply for people that want to go for normal masters and all, do they necessarily apply to me? or mine is even harder.
From the filmschool wesites, everything just appears very easy...Really dont know wassup
I would appreciate your answers to this.

Hmm..mmmm...for me HRM is it , no going back not MBA .. I quite agree with you that a tighter SOP might be helpful...thanks for your kind and speedy response

Stick to your convictions on your chosen field of study and elucidate it in your SOP, why you have chosen what you want to study. It's too late for you for September. Given the denial and all that , ordering your denial notes to review before refiring is wise. You don't want to start applying blindly without your gcms notes. Purpose of visit might mean you have not convinced a VO you would be a bonafide student or NOT a potential immigrant. So work on your SOP in addressing your course of study and demonstrating substantial ties to Nigeria. Children's birthcerticates, marriage certificate, landed property or business interests in Nigeria, etc. Explain that you are going alone and your family will remain in Nigeria.

Just follow the school's instruction. You don't need to be writing a thesis proposal like us and finding supervisors. Yours I think would be more in the line of presenting a portfolio. Once you get admitted, in obtaining a visa, you can come down to our level. It's the same process for everyone, some a little more vetting than others, especially the would be pilots.

Cheapest flight to Canada is Egypt Air. Just get an agent to look for the cheapest date. Just give them a range

Overall I'd say they are okay. I used the airline when I came in last year. I had a long lay over (18hrs) in Casablanca and they provided a room and meals for the period. I know some other people here in Canada who used it and there was no major complain. If you have a connecting flight when you arrive Canada, please ensure to check in your luggage. The Air Maroc staff in Lagos airport that checked me in told me that I'll get my luggage in my final destination so I didnt even bother to check when I landed in Montreal cos I trusted His words and also cos I needed to get immigration clearance (study permit) and catch my final flight (Air Canada) which was to leave in an hour. When I got to my City I couldn't find my luggage so air Canada informed me that it may have been left in Montreal and assured that they'll track it and send it to my address which they did after about 3 days. When I received it, all the locks I used for my bags were broken and some of the food items I packed were tampered with. In terms of cost, I think they have the best rates from Nigeria to Canada. You can google 'travelstart nigeria' to compare prices for available flights to your location.

Lufthansa is basically an expensive flight. Again there is a long wait over for you at Frankfurt. However they offer a very good service and nice aircrafts for your comfortability.
The basic cheap airlines within the purview are Ethiopian, Egypt, Turkish and u can check out Emirates.

Luggage been left at connecting airport Is not neccessarily the Airlines fault. It could be that it was a very short connection in Canada. Secondly am not sure if you have to do custom clearance at your first port of entry in Canada like that do in US. If that's the case, then you were meant to pick up your bags in Montreal and do a baggage drop off at Air Canada check in counter at no additional cost cuz it's been tagged to your final destination from the origin(LOS). For tampering with your food stuffs most probably came from Canada as they would remove what they are not comfortable with (just like the US)

Cheers

Normally if you arrive at Canada very sure of Pearson Toronto, it is written clearly on screens-monitors "ensure u claim your bag at the baggage area even if you are connecting". Same also applies to major airports in the US like JFK.

Funny enough, Lufthansa has seem to be the cheapest to my destination. Air Canada too. The thing is, a one-way might costs N490,000 while a return flight might cost N560,000. So why won't I book for a return flight and push up the date when I arrive?

As for Air Maroc, my friends who went to Ottawa used it and they enjoyed their flight from Lagos.

Virgin Atlantic and Delta airlines are also good but pricey.

Try to compare prices mostly at midnight using the "Incognito'' mode of your browser and you should get some considerably cheap flights.

Goodluck

Aiit that's nice.
It might be good for them to book return then if they plan visiting within the next one year. If not, it won't really make sense.

However, I wish all New coming legal residents of Canada a safe flight. Canada welcomes you!

Any comment on Royal Marco airline....what can we say about them please.? Good morning my people.

I took air Maroc to Calgary this year, and it was not bad.

From Nigeria, I had my reservations, you need to be at the airport before 3am, checking in is terrible and rowdy, compared to other airlines, plane from Lagos to Casablanca had no in-flight entertainment, though breakfast was served.

From Casablanca to Montreal, it was smooth, everything top-notch.

However, this is not a straight flight, the leg with air Maroc always ends at Montreal, so ensure you claim your luggages.

All immigration checks would be done at Montreal, so be sure that for students study permit can be processed in Quebec ( I immigrated through the PR route, and know that a landed immigrant can land anywhere in Canada except Quebec for the first time, it's expressly written on our documents, so please confirm for students also.)

From Montreal, you go with air Canada, you check in your luggage and get to your destination, this is a local flight, so don't expect too much.

If you don't have the luxury of funds, you can try them, if not please go through the big names KLM/Airfrance/BA/LUFTHANSA: one stop, and you get your luggages at final destination.

The trip to any Canadian city is long with stopovers, in the bid to get cheap flights, I also look at the route also. I try to get less stopovers as much as I can.
