For Glo users, this is a little calculation.

Don't buy data from reseller. Since here is about getting value for money, let me drop this here.

I normally buy 5k data (that's 24gb with my normal 100% if i subscribe withing 72 hours(3 days).

Am on bumpa tariff plan, i get 10,000 for voice call to all network at 55k per second and 4 Naira per text messages, which translate into roughly 303 minutes of call time and 15 days validity.
The cheapest Glo data i had seen is 4100 for 24gb with d normal 100% bonus attached. That's without the free calls of 10k for 15 days o.

Funny thing is, i buy airtime from wholesaler, and the 5k airtime i use will cost 4650. That's 550 naira higher than Dan data i can get from reseller. Is the 550 naira worth 10k call time? Even if am on Glo 15k per second to all network (61 minutes).
Funny thing is, i normally keep 200 naira recharge card with me and set a reminder on my phone and extend my bonus airtime with 5 days every time i recharge 200 naira before my airtime expiration (15 days initially)
Note: I don't wait for 15 days before i recharge 200 naira, i do so at 14th day and if i still have data left after 14 + 5 days, i will recharge 200 naira again and my bonus call time increases by another 5 days and it goes on like that till my data expires on 30th day. In order words, with 5k, i wount spend money on airtime throughout d month. The only advantage data seller has over subscription from Glo is, data rollover.
So, if Glo SME reseller doesn't make it super cheap, it's not worth it at all. And for new Glo subscribers, they will be on Glo jolifi8 which gives more airtime and free data to send even as gift and even another free data for them o embarassed

Bro, trust me, if xiaomi gets to Rome(Africa), they'll do like the Romans(Infinix, Tecno, ....)

Its one of 2 tinz. Xiaomi might continue dia online tinz or open a physical shop. Eida of the 2, they'll still beat both infinix n tecno cos Pple go see d difference when they compare dia products to those of infinix n tecno

hv u ever ask urself, as good as xiaomi is, or as cheap as it is, why are our retailers not bringing it in?

as big as jumia why dey left even d few of those xiaomi product on jumia global where psy on delivery is not applicable?

or are u saying dey don't want to make profit?

before u hype dis, i know u only read were suit u, if u read its full text u will see all the point I've highlighted since yesterday and i know dat has vindicated my stand

before u hype how much sales dey hav made remember
Xiaomi compete in major country India and China

China has a population of 1.2 billion people

Indian has a population of about 1.4 billion people

this means that xiaomi operate in a market of about 2.6 billion people and non of these two country they are number one, why becus his core business model focuses on online rather than offline

if he dare change that model and concentrate more on an offline structure ( suit the african market) then his over head cost will shot up and his prices won't be d same

even in india his business philosophy in d india market

Tecno Infinix Itel, Goonee, runs d show here in Africa, becus they understand d dynamics of d African market

xiaomi has shown u dat dey runs d show in China and india

Tecno Infinix has show u that dey run d show in Africa

take it or leave it

So..... In All that you have said, what are your aims....

Because to me this your argument looks useless here in Nairaland.... If you can forward this analysis to xioami forum or Mr Jun himself, it will be of great use to them than here. Only this would not deter people like me to choose the likes of xioami/LeEco over tecno/infinix and co.

Fact that this is being discussed in the first place while they are not yet even here, should be a source of worry for those brands "reigning" here.
Hard to regard those other brands after tasting Xiaomi which leaves you feeling you have always been shortchanged by them.

grin grin grin no wonder person no dey hear from You again. Enjoy the feeling bro!

Bro, if u can jus be honest n answer this question truthfully.

Why do you think Pple are 'now' going for xiaomi phones??

Pls be sincere in you answer

people are buying product good or inferior

what percentage of people buying xiaomi should be d question

if d demand is dey, na dis trend we go from know. u pay today dey waybill ur product tomorrow they won't tell u to wait for 12 15 days and use ur money to order from China

they will stock it and resell bcus dey know d demand is there

secondly until their accessories flood our local market, like screen guard or flip case, then u know this people ain't joking

until then xiaomi is just one of dos other brands. and not a competitor in d Africa market

You guys should just accept that spartacus11 is the winner of this argument and let it die... Or better open a thread for xioami vs tecno/itel/infinix and continue your argument there please.

.first of all it's not an argument

second is to clarify d reason why people still take Tecno or Infinix as d top brand in Africa even wen u guys feel xiaomi is far s better choice

thirdly xiaomi forum will be hearing from me wen my device arrive, but i believe they hv explain their business model well and for now Africa is not on xiaomis agenda.
that means they can't out perform infinix or tecno

until den Tecno and Infinix will still keep ruling in the Africa market

hope u get my drifts

Are you having issues ordering your items on Aliexpress?

Why do you have to wait for 2 months before you order ur phone on Aliexpress as a result of dollar purchase limit on ur account?

Why do you have to order your item on Aliexpress at N375/$?

You can now order your item below N375/$.

To place your order on Aliexpress below N375/$, kindly chat me on whatsapp. The item will be delivered to the PO nearest to your provided address.

If u have trust issues, u don't need to chat me up.

Check my signature for my phone no.

That's the point exactly. The proverb be say na rat wey dey inside hass dey tell the wan wey dey bush say fish dey inside. That's what put SLOT on the international/African map for mobile phones. Usually it will have to take the volume of orders from the likes of our protein0 & Noobody along with their balls to approach Xiaomi for collabo in the Naija market for Xiaomi to get the assuring facts and liver to test the waters, knowing say dem don get person wey go show dem way for here. The bad press out there about Naija is "fraud", corruption. Oya, over to una to drag Xiaomi enter..

Am loving this argument on xiaomi and infinix, Tesco.

It's one thing to buy a phone, it's another thing to know the functionality of the phone. The problem with people s that, they just pay money, but they don't even have idea about the quality and functionality of their device.

Let them know this my bro.
