“Brian!” I called him again. His gaze was still fixed on the newspaper in his hand. I wondered why he still preferred reading this to reading news online.
“Are you just going to keep ignoring me Brian?”
“Woman shut up. You talk too much.”
“Is this how you’re supposed to be treating your wife”
“Did I just hear you say ‘wife’? Who married you?” He threw the newspaper aside and faced me squarely.
“Ah ah Brian.”
“Madam shut up. I won’t take your nonsense again.”
“Who is taking who’s nonsense here ehn?” My voice was fast rising.
“Did you just talk back to me?”
“Yes I did and I will do it again.”
“Okay. I’ll answer your question. I’m the one taking your nonsense. You constantly nag and I’m on the brink of going crazy. Number two,you’re always asking for money money money. My goodness! Are you now a branch of a commercial bank?”
“Me? Guilty?”
“Now,you want to play smart with me abi. Let’s roll then. I had you followed ostrich head.”
“Brian did you…”
“Shh. Yes, you have an ostrich brain. That day, I knew he was telling the truth because my agent had tapped into your calls and followed you everywhere. I thought you would say the truth once he talked but you kept on playing innocent. I sent him out thinking you would confess,you still refused. After I sent him out,you didn’t even care to call him for a single day. Is that how you’ll be a good second mother?”
“How dare you have me followed?”
“How dare I? Tessy when did you start behaving like a heartless animal?”
“You wanna know? Ask google then and for your information I’ve called Jason more than twice.”
“Wow!” He clapped his hands twice. “You’ve added lies to your long list of sins abi?”
“I’m not lying. You can ask him yourself.”
“That’s the interesting part. I already asked him. Did you think I would be stupid enough not to call my son because of a daft thing like you.”
I shuddered. At this point,my bank of lies was blinking red. This wasn’t the first time we argued but this was our hottest argument.
“Theresa.” He called and moved slowly towards me. “Tell me what I haven’t done for you.Look into my eyes and tell me where I failed.”
I looked at him briefly before turning my gaze to my feet.
“I’ve given you my heart,my money, access to my house. I’ve cherished you almost more than I cherished my first wife. Initially,you were as gentle as a lamb but now,I honestly don’t know what has come over you. I even went as far as paying your bride price and sending some of your family members to school but you’re not yet satisfied. Even when I saw that you were becoming something else,I chose to believe I was the one causing your change. I overlooked many things and intensified my efforts to care for you so that we could be in the same page before getting married. Anyway,I’m happy that you didn’t wait till I married you before showing me your true colour. That’s why I have come to a conclusion Theresa.”
“No Brian,don’t say it.”
“I have to Tessy.There’s no way this is going to work out. I’m calling off the engagement Tess. We can’t get married with the way you are.”
“Brian,please. I’ll turn a new leaf,I beg of you. Don’t send me away. I love you.” I fell to my knees.
“There’s no need Theresa.”
I clung to his legs,crying and begging but I could see his mind was already made up. I didn’t want to be single again. That in itself was a disaster.
“Let go of my legs Theresa,I want to go and rest now.”
“Brian,for the love of God…”
“Don’t bring God into this before an invisible hand disfigures your face.”He removed my hands from his legs and walked to the stairs but paused halfway through. I thought he was reconsidering but I was wrong.”
“I also know you’re a perfect cheat. Your legs can’t stay one place for a minute but I forgive you. Pack your things and leave before 7pm. I don’t want to come out and see you in my house. You can keep the ring,the car and everything else I got you. I really don’t need them.”He turned to me for the first time since he mounted the stairs “I never want to see you near my family again. Goodbye Theresa.”

I'm not justifying my late update though,I sincerely apologise but believe me,I'm having it horrible. To everyone else,I'm sorry. I donno if the drugs I took were not effective. I was really down yesterday after a stressful day. There was no energy to think and type at all. I hate it that I'm lagging behind in updates but I'm trying my very best
