This is what i mean by public fund .

In public high school US Citzens dont pay and it is free... however Foreign students who want to attend public high school must pay the full cost of education.. if they dont pay then they are inbreech of using public fund.

OK, now i understand lol... no mind me... its a private christian school... thanks a lot.

If Aunty is funding then get a bank statement from her just in case they ask at the interview ...i.hope the aunty will continue to pay after one year. Please make sure before she leaves Naija . I heard so many stories that touch . Although i get it, abroad u have so much bills and tax not talk of carrying another person load

Ok noted @bank statement. Sure we will get it. the school is applying for her visa and everything else involved... they would also let us know what to take, we from our end will also arrange and ask (Aunty) for things we feel we may have to take to be on a safe side... We actually trust my aunty as my dad trained her husband (brother) and they asked for this wahala, no be us request for am. i also think the scholarship may extend if the student actually performs excellent in the first year. Do you think it would have been stated in the offer if they were going to fund the whole 4 years of study?

What class is she in Nigeria ? ....

ss1 going to ss2 next session. We only submitted transcripts of js1-3 since she doesn't have a result for 3rd term ss1. the school asked for 9th grade transcript specifically, that's the class she will be resuming. I believe when she resumes and takes subjects, they would realize she is too experienced for the class. does it even work like that?

Please are there schools that offer business graduate programs that do not require GRE or GMAT in the US?

If it me then i would do it differently .. take option 1... there would be two options if she is an intelligent student

option 1
At ss2 by sept...i would ensure that she studies very hard and get very good grades for ss2 and ss3 . Then put her in Sat lessons now or self study so she has very high SAT scores and then aim to apply to schools that give full ride scholarship for international student... that way she dont have to worry if an aunty or uncle will fail or not. She would instead have full university scholarship from the begining

The reason i say that its in 2 years she be in university... with this other option she waits a whole 4 more years (grad 9 to 12)

Option 2
Alternatively if the scholarship would extend after one year then that doable as well to go now. Would take a longer time . Whether or not the scholarship is extendable you have to check directly with the source

Highly unlikely they would skip her class....its not academic she have to put up with. Big culture shock and change, different style of learning. Potential complex from having a different Accent at a young age , new envirnoment and many many things that she might be a lot more quiet and reserved compared to her mates until she adjust.... so unlikely she will stand out initially ..possible but u never know. People settle down differently

My insurance next semester is $102 cheesy
I compared the quote from 3 companies and chose the cheapest.

Mine is $530 for Fall semester. Spring is $450. All this people shouting ETSU with scholarships there and there! Let me enlighten you today. Yes, there's scholarship here at ETSU. They have Int merit scholarship, tuition waiver, GA, RA, & TA. The aforementioned scholarships are what international students can benefit from ETSU as a school. Now think of it, you were giving int merit scholarship that covers $50 person of your tuition & your tuition is $28938/session as undergrad and $25371/session for grad. Do the 50% of those fees and you will see what you will pay for a semester. If you are lucky to have the GA, tuition waiver, RA and TA. You will still pay program fee between $700-$1000 per semester and the aforementioned insurance fees per semesters. That aside your house bills and the rest. Even if you work here in Johnson city, you can only make between $2000 to $3500 per semester except in the summer when you can work. If you dont pay your fees, your classes will be purge. Let me say out of about 110 nigerians here, Only 40 are on full scholarships and those 40 are graduates. Undergrads and other graduates are on international merit scholarship. I see them striving so hard to pay the money and some drop out or transfer to community college. If you're coming to US come with money. Don't depend on anybody. People will turn you down when you get here. I have seen it happened. Trust me! dont trust me too. The hustling no be Joke. Anybody can F*** you up. So, i am pleading and shouting, coming to ETSU no be joke ooo. So much money is involve. Prepare yourself to come and spend. Atleast come with money to support yourself for the first 3months. Hold your fees if you get merit scholarship or else ETSU no dey waste time to purge classes and you become stranded. ETSU no dey joke with money ooooo. Note this!!! I just want to squash this report of ETSU ETSU ETSU. Honestly, some people survived it, so you can. grin grin grin

Its sad that your friend wasted about $1000. Your friend is probably 29 and above, that's why he/she had to pay $300 P.S.. To the incoming students:: you don't need to take a quote to your school first, on the insurance website, you can check the plan that your school will accept, most schools are listed on the website with the plan that is acceptable to each school. If you are below 27 or so, you might not pay more than $200 and $300 for fall and spring respectively. The price goes up with age, still at that, its far better that the exorbitant fee your school will charge.By the way if you don't know what to use money for..I am a pm away. Lastly, fill your immunization form before you leave Nigeria and ask questions, no excuse for ignorance.
Thank you for the details. Very helpful. I am not familiar with the immunization form you mentioned. My school is ready to run my sponsor's pocket dry, but get behind me Satan, not when I have God and these beautiful people on Nairaland. I discovered the only option they accept is "elite" which is $2903 for 1yr, from the $2995 default school plan. No difference, but an advantage of paying monthly.

Can you kindly help with information on how the immunization forma are generated? (I also think immunIzation is for students below 26yrs of age. how true?)

Anyone's contribution would be appreciated.

http://web2.fit.edu/health/immunization.php

Go through that link. It will tell you what immunisation is mandatory in your school. Then ask your mother for your baby Immunizations records or card to use as evidence of the ones you have. For the ones you dont have that are needed in your school then find a place to do it in Nigeria before you leave. Keep a proof you taken it

If you dont..listed in the link is what they might charge u to have it done and much more or your insurance might cover some of the cost

I know I'm wrong. And I apologize... I pray I'll be forgiven...
The date was July 11, 2017 (A Tuesday) Not what I wanted though. at least considering the popular believe that "a Monday or a Friday is the best" And my appointment was slated for 7:45am.
I woke up around 5am, was ready before 6am. Told only my brothers about my interview. I sneaked out with my friend, I got there around 6:41am, I felt I was late and started jogging. Then about 2 guys were like "stop running camera dey watch you" Even though I like logic gan, I decided this was not the day for reasoning!!! I started walking briskly. On joining the queue, I decided to maneuver my way to the front like a smart Nairalander, this guys no gree o. Ended up on the queue with people who's appointment was 8:15, 8:30, and even 8:45. On getting inside, I was literally on my feet for over 3 hours. Last Last, he reach my turn....
VO: Pass me your passport (I gave him)
VO: Your I-20 and Sevis (gave him that too)
VO: What course are you going to study
Me: Computer Science at the University of Houston Victoria
VO: Why did you choose University of Houston Victoria
Me: Well I chose University of Houston Victoria because the department have a Concentration in Networking and Security which is my primary interest. Also the department is a member of the Microsoft Academic Alliance and The Oracle Academic student Initiative.
VO: What is the Oracle?
Me: (I initially went blank, then o got myself) The Oracle is a program (didn't add ing and language "programming language"wink
VO: Which other schools did you apply to?
Me: University of Central Oklahoma, Texas A & M kingsville
VO: Why University of Houston Victoria (again)
Me: Like I said earlier (*repeat "slowly now"wink
All the while typing, and I was like o my God. this guy ask me questions now, I am prepared. Inside my head I was like, that $3k scholarship na small one o, I have a waiver to pay in-state-tuition.... He just grabbed a white paper, circled and was saying this things I can't decipher *I'm not even sure I heard him say Congrats or I'll be approving your Visa. I was just monitoring him all the while... But who cares!!! I got an approval...

My 2 kobo: I initially didn't tell Dad and Mum cuz my dad can pray for favour for 2 hours, and my mum will ask more questions than the VO hence putting me under pressure... The days of the week does not matter, another important thing is your DS160, you should be super detailed (No super stories though) especially the work descriptions.

Once again I apologize...
