born to rule at it again. Invariably if the restructuring doesn't favor them, it would not stand.

I keep telling people shouting 'restructuring' that it will never happen. The core North is the greatest beneficiary of the status quo. They would rather die than give in to changing it.Check the numbers of L.G.As in the North compared to those in the south. The population figure of the North(for instance Kano is more 'populous' than Lagos). The number of legislators from the North etc.

Unfortunately to change the constitution the motion needs to be passed into law by majority of the legislators. As long as resources are shared according to population density and number of L.G.As,the north would never agree to restructuring.

Good luck to the proponents of restructuring, but the North I know would rather secede than give in to restructuring.

Arewas are the owner of Nigeria

That is why the Nigerian Army logo is written in their Arabic language just like our naira notes.
If Buhari were not a northerner, would he still be president wasting money in London after banning government officials from going abroad for treatment.
Hypocrites and fraudulent people.

That is one huge funny problem with Nigeria. We just like rhetoric. That's how people voted in APC without asking what they meant by change.

We are screaming restructuring without any group coming out with a concise study on how we should go about it.

I support restructuring. Maybe I should try come out with a document on how we should restructure. Infact, I would.
Restructuring is an English word which simply mean to change something. In this case, Nigeria. The onus is on the government to bring every nationality together so that we can decide to what extent we want to restructure. In fact, the 2014 conference came up with some suggestions. Why not peruse the document. There's no gain saying that the North wants the status-quo to remain which favours them. Sometimes, it just makes more sense to support the secessionist movement because nothing is ever going to change because the North will not sit and watch their ill gotten political and economic advantage being taken away from them.

Why are we reluctant about this?

to prove the level of your frustration, u still have to deny your region?

how can we clamour for restructuring without reviewing the constitution. are you people that dumb? was it Yoruba clamouring for restructuring that will make it to come to pass? or was the lawmakers in NA all yorubas?

The North and their military leaders have been the main beneficiaries of Nzeogwu's blunder and Ironsi's Unitary Government mistake. And they keep blaming all the Igbos. Did the Igbos have a meeting to plan the coup of 1966? Never. It was purely a military affair. They removed Ironsi BUT built on his mistake. And here we are.
We must go back to the pre military era with the SIX GEOPOLITICAL ZONES as the federating units. With this, we still have ONE NIGERIA and, believe me, the agitation for Biafra and Niger Delta will cease.
Remember the Aburi Accord? It's time we revisit that document because if it was implemented, there would have been no Biafra! Yes?
We are still under Military rule through the Constitution they imposed on us which favours a section of the country more than the others.
Don't you think that the Quota System is one area that is outrageous and needs serious restructuring? Which progressive countries ever practise such a system which sacrifices MERIT for the sake of the "disadvantaged areas".
When we restructure, we will have the present SIX GEOPOLITICAL ZONES as the federating units --Biafra State, Oduduwa State, SS State ( or whatever they choose to answer), Arewa East , Central and West States as the six federal units.
The greatest achievement of the present National Assembly will be to amend our Constitution to include a REFERENDUM to be attended by these zones as the delegates.
But the problem is : Will the present politicians like the governors and the legislators let go of their 'kingdoms' for the new structure?
Yes they can : If they mean well for the country.
The present foundation/constitution is faulty and lopsided and is already shaking. It's better to pull it down and lay a very solid foundation/constitution where EQUITY and JUSTICE will be the building blocks.

you guys never come with an instance where north is being favoured and other parts marginalised, as a matter of fact you will have to define the "north", what I know about is NW NE NC. And FG has short changed the " north" economists agree it is the poorest part of the country yet has the majority of Nigerians and the many tribes in Nigeria.
We have heard of states like rivers receiving derivation for mineral producing states while those minerals are coming from northern states. WHO IS STEALING WHO.

I feel asham for the people sponsoring your ignorance

Of course, the answer is no. There would have been nothing like Nigeria if the bulk of the crude oil were in the north.

stfu. how are u sure your pusy is washed this morning. so you think Lagos can survive alone without other ethnic groups coming to live in here..
are u a student of history self..where does the lagosian you claim to be migrated from?? they are .migrant from Oyo,ijebu, osun and other Yoruba speaking States... you think Lagos island is the real Lagos.... the aworis and eguns are the real owners of the land you call Lagos...you need to go for historical study and be tutored well in this case.. I'm a Yoruba and mind you...when Oduduwa republic or South west is created out of Nigeria, Ibadan will be the capital city but Lagos will just be economic hub...get your facts before coming to a public forum to spew thrash...

The north are yet to bring all non oil resources in the north for benchmarking as oil.

If the oil were in the north Nigeria would have been two before now.

Are the north trying to back down their quit notice? They must be cowards if they are not resolute to their quit notice comes 1st October.

Nice thinking.

It is unfortunate the way Hausas caged Nigeria using their military might even to the point of moving the capital to their region, with the same military might they created more states and LGAs in their region for their selfish interest.

It is the rest of Nigeria ( with the exception of Southeast) that have continued to allow such atrocity by the North.

The question is straight and simple, what is the framework of your so called restructuring, what exactly are you restructuring?

The normal allocations from the centre and internal revenues from states in your region is enough to develop any state in Nigeria to an enviable state when managed judiciously,

It is plain ignorance when we leave the little we can do at state and local govt level to focus all our energies on the FG,

Our problem is the mind set of average Nigeria and our leaders not the North.....

Freedom is free if you don't know bro. If it happens that there will be a referendum today, you vote who you wanna stay with. I've been watching your comments here, you so much devote time on Biafra issues but you are not perturbed that Kano, Kaduna and Lagos was listed as hosting communities and no Niger Delta community was in the recently PIB bill that was passed. I personally was looking for you folks, The We Niger Deltans," but i couldn't see any of you. If I should advice you, devote more time on that than jumping up and down on Biafra's matter. #shalom
