let's be real, the 30k job cannot cover anything, well except only feeding minus accommodation, transportation and clothing. |

Be wise. I started with 20k and left after 3 months to 50k...after a year left for 120k stayed there till 200k and left to collect 150k...I went back for a reason. To acquire a certain experience....now I am projecting 300k next year... Sometimes, it is not everyone that get that big job...you must be calculative. You can start small but don't stay small. |

An employer who employs a graduate accountant for 30k is taking a risk. Hopefully, they have a strong internal audit department. |

We ve actually lost it in this country. how can a nation blessed with so much resources derogate der graduate so low. we don't have any regulation in dis country. our government has killed the essence of schooling and no wonder u see d likes of Evans everywhere. those of u supporting 30k-35k plz can u be sincere to your self and give a break down of dat money usefulness in the present day Nigeria. Do u know dat graduate will have dose looking up to him for feeding and likewise his parents also. plz what will 30k change in his life and family? Some say experience and all that...i hear. if u remove transport and feeding, i bet u he will end up been a liability to his friend becos he will be a debtor. the only good tin in dat job is keeping his mind working and not been an idol tool in d hand of the devil. any oda tin is useless |

Benita27:It's rather funny that these are the ones who would still complain when a big company comes around asking for 2 years of experience. 2 yeears that you spent on a poorly paying job could be the key to getting you the big one. But nope, people think the tag "graduate" entitles them to something. Super funny. |
| Re: Nigerians Argue On Twitter Over N30,000 Job Vacancy For Graduate by iammolise(m): 4:07pm On Jul 14, 2017 |
naylor:At least that is a starting point... If your smart enough you can save withing a year or there abouts and start up a small business then if you're innovative enough, in the next 6months you'll be giving company jobs "the middle finger". |

Start small there's nothing like being self reliant, its always better than being a parasite or nuisance. Try and boost your cv by learning how specific roles are done. For those of you rich on social media you are doing yourself |

Well, at a point where i worked for 10k a month as a lawyer(called to bar and all), so 30k sef still good pass my own. All na part of the success story finally. But seriously, i think it's better to start a small biz, and be your own boss. Even if its cold fruit salad you decide to sell from office to office, you will make more than 30k a month in profit if you manage the biz well.. Na just to use your brain well, there are opportunities to make money everywhere.Nigerians are shopaholics, so people must patronize you . It's better than giving someone up to 8 hrs of your life because of 30k.Education has little or no economic value as it stands, every smart Nigerian should learn a skill or have a side hustle. These salaries are just laughable in the present day economy. |

I was paid 5k a week as a fresh graduate. Today, I'm grateful to God that I took the offer, because the experience I got from that job was all I needed to climb up the ladder in my industry and earning well. The problem with most graduate is that they don't want to start small. Everybody wants to take home fat salary without any experience, its possible though but very difficult. |

Afritop:I don't reside in Lag so don't get the difference in distance between the places you just mentioned. Secondly, I wasn't the one who stated "Nigerians should learn how to turn down offers", I was quoting someone. Let's assume based on your calculation the person earns 35kmax. Transport fare for the month is 15K, isn't 20K take home better than being idle 'till he/she could get a reasonable job?. Mind you, I'm also not stating he/she should remain on such low income, just for the time being 'till something better comes. |

Syphax:False. My first was 50k after my NYSC last year. I worked there for 4 months and quit. I'm freelancing now and the least I've made in a month is 180k. Know Your Worth |

People supporting the salary scale are just giving the sets of slave masters more confidence to exploit people. The truth is, that job means you are a casual worker not entitle to any benefits. |

kingandamy4life:God bless you my brother.. After years of educational training, then someone gets paid 30k.. See eh, the day i decided to set up my own business was the day I realized education is just a setup.. Go to school to be enlightened, but bear it in mind that the degree or certificate won't make you rich especially in country like ours. |

dfrost:lol.. 30k is pitiable now o. Have you been to the markets recently? In fact, i live alone still i spend at least 20k monthly on groceries alone. If my salary were 30k,how i wan transport myself go the work, eat during break, buy personal effects? It is well o! |

adewumiopeyemi:Says who... Let me wake you up to a "fact" 'the economy is getting more experience driven than certificate driven' by the day... Companies nowadays need what you can offer to the table, they give less bleeps about what's in your folio. So brace yourself up. |
