Hello Oyinola87. Take your photograph where? If you are applying via interview waiver program (dropbox) then you should be using DHL to send in your passport and DS-160. If the photograph is uploaded electronically, then that's all you need to do.

This is actually incorrect. DHL still asks you to submit 2 passport photographs alongside your application.

Good afternoon AbujaNIV

I am writing on behalf of an old lady who is right now between a rock and a hard place. She is an elderly aunt of mine who was invited by her son after his wife had a child. She was granted a B1/B2 visa but that is the beginning of her predicament. Unfortunately, she lost her passport and belongings in a mall. Unaware of the process and also not computer literate, she had someone help her send an email to ustraveldocs instead of LagosNIV. Hence, usatraveldocs sent her a form email, telling her how to apply for a replacement visa when she has loses her valid visa. Apparently, that visa was not invalidated. Oblivious of this, she went on to apply for a replacement visa later, only to be told she already had a visa. The miss up ensured that she was rejected. Hence, we have been trying to rectify the issue. We have sent an email to LagosNIV but her biggest problem now is that she no longer has the documents where she entered the application email addresses and passwords. Since she was not computer literate, she was walked through the earlier application process by her tenant who helped her register an email and create a profile for the application on the portal. Now, she has lost those particulars where these information were written down, along with the passport. The young man remembers the email address, but he does not remember both the password to the email and the password to the application portal. Because he wrote them down for her somewhere which she has lost. Now, we wrote an email to LagosNIV about the lost passport/visa, using another email and the reply was that they do not have that new email on their records. They said she should use the original email address that she used to apply in order for the information to be processed.
My question is, since she no longer has access to that original email address, what should she do?

Hello KnowledgeIsPawa. Make a new e-mail address and profile. E-mail addresses are free. The profile is based on biographical information that that applicant should know innately without having to look at a previous version.

Thank you for your reply but the consulate told us in the reply that before the lost visa is invalidated and entered into record, we need to send the lost/stolen visa notice with the original email that was used to apply for that visa in the first place.

Then I would advise you to follow the specific instructions you were given. Typically, people file police reports when they lose their passports, and that report may also be requested.

My question: He is yet to pay for the conference but has gotten letter to apply and the organizer said payment can be made on arrival, please what is the chances as against registering and paying before applying for visa?

He was advice to proceed, but what if the VO ask for an evidence of payment for the conference.
He want to be careful, please advise.

attached is the letter from the conference organizer and its in my field i am a Facility Manager.

I will appreciate all advice that will aid the success of getting my visa.

Your post is difficult to understand. You shift from saying that you are applying to saying he is applying, then refer to the person in question. In any case, for you, he or anyone else, we do not advise paying for any trip expenses until you have the visa in hand. Paying in advance for a conference will not influence the visa officer at all.

Hello samm100. We don't look at invitation letters. Every applicant must qualify on their own merits.

Hello,
Please I need help. I was trying to invite my aunty for my graduation and also to meet the new baby. I sent her invitation, I thought I would be able to get a date but I couldn't and the date is almost here. Can I still invite her over to visit the new baby. can I use the baby dedication that is coming up soon. Does it matter that I already sent the previous letters and employment verification to the embassy before?

Thank you for your response.

I just renewed my passport and got different passport number but I can't edit my passport number in my profile. Should I create a new profile or just schedule my interview and go with both passport? Thanks

PS: I came back from US recently

Hello AbujaNiv,

I am planning to attend a conference in the US which is to be sponsored (100%) by my current employer.

I would like to know if the Company's certificate of registration issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission is what is to be tendered during the interview or the Company's statement of account?

Any other useful information would also be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello FRSA. You are welcome to bring any number of documents if they give you a sense of security, but in all likelihood, none will be examined by the visa officer.

Hello Abujaniv,
Thanks or the wonderful job you are doing on this platform. I have some colleagues here in my office who have got impressive travel history ( europe , Asia and Africa) and yet have been denied US visa several times. ( I also have been denied twice though) . I feel that should ask the VO if they have a ban on their record since the vo won't say any such thing. I just want to know, is it a good thing to ask if there is a travel ban on one's profile.
Thank you.
Re: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by abujaniv: 8:40am On Jul 15, 2017
Hello bimbotek. If there is a ban or some other ineligibility, the visa officer will inform the applicant of such. There are times when an applicant ruins their credibility in a previous interview, and that stain carries on into subsequent applications.

Dear VO,

Thanks for this great service.

1)Is E2 visa class now available for Nigerians and what is the minimum fund in dollars to apply for this?

2)I got back from a 3weeks trip in June this year to attend my brother's wedding in the US. I will be going again this September as myself and my brother who is a Permanent Resident(Green Card) in the US are looking to set up a company in the US. I currently have a B1/B2 Visa class. Can one visit US again after about 2month of return on a multiple visits visa?

Hello VO,

Thanks for your good work on this forum.
Having been denied once previously, I applied for a B1/B2 visa as an applicant with a pending immigrant visa petition, armed only with the responses you've been giving here. The preparation was key as the visa was approved.

Now my issue is that my wife and kids, who are US LPRs, became overly excited (I am too cheesy) and want me to stretch the vacation a little. They want me to travel a week before the date I wrote on my ds 160 form but still return on the date indicated (making 18 days instead of the initial 10 days). Kindly enlighten, does this constitute an offense or improper use of my B1/B2 visa? We are sticklers to rules and don't want any trouble as per the IV petition or even this B1/B2 visa, so we decided that I should pose the question to you. Thanks in anticipation of your wise counsel.

Hello VO,

Thanks for your great assistance on this forum. It has help me a lot.

I presently have a question, I have a B1/B2 visa with my family. I applied for a school in the US even before I got the visitors visa. Now the school replied me a few days ago for the conversion of my certificate to further the application. Its a masters program in Colorado. 15 months course. Should I now apply for student visa since my present visa is b1/b2? If yes ,how do I go about it. Though I intend going for holiday in October with my family .

Awaiting your response, thanks.

Re: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by abujaniv: 1:12pm On Jul 15, 2017
Hello Seg05-

You are not permitted to attend school in the US on a B1/B2 visa. You should apply for a student visa through the same process you used to apply for the B1/B2 visa. The classification you will need to apply for is the F1 visa.

Hello lonzo -

Each traveler must have their own visa, so you will need to file a separate application for each person you intend to travel with. You can sign up for a family interview and all be interviewed at once.

Hello, wish to ask this on behalf of my younger sister and hubby. They applied for renewal of visa by Dropbox, her current visa was meant to expire October but she intended travelling November which was why she applied for a renewal in the first place. There was no other communication from the consulate only that their passports returned and the visa has been stamped "cancelled without prejudice" and no new one was issued. What caused the cancellation and why were they not invited for interview? These are the questions puzzling everyone, She's intrigued and wants to know what they are expected to do or can do about getting her visa. Should she re apply and pay again then schedule for an interview?
Please guide them accordingly.

Good day Abujaniv,

My uncle got his b1/b2 visa last year . He traveled to the United States this year February and has been in the U.S. For over 5 months ( NB: he was given 6 months @ POE.) . He's planning to leave the U.S. before the 6 month expires this month . Now my question : do you think staying as long as 5 months plus ( almost 6 months ) would affect his next entry into the U.S. ? Thanks
