The hound is used as a vehicle for the writers to let you the viewer know that beric dondarion is nothing special- he is not holy, not pious, not a great warrior, etc.

Beric himself admits he has no idea why he's been chosen.

That tells you that the Lord of light's choice us not based on merit, thus eliminating your argument that Jon Snow is special.

He's not.

He's a muppet.

So because beric doesn't know why the Lord of light choose him, that makes it that it wasn't based on merit? Even beric stated that he believes that he was chosen for a purpose.
The Lord of light chooses he wants, even if it isn't based on merit but being chosen alone is an added advantage. .Fact

Sorry to interrupt Bro;
To me, survival in Game of Throne thus far has been based on luck, strongwill, allies and madness. The strongest and wisest ones don't seem to last, take Kahl Drogo, Mad dawg n his broda, Ned stark(wise and strong) as examples. These men are stronger and wiser than Jon yet they are dead. No one among them can stand Jon in terms of strongwill and I think that's what's keeping the 'bastard' alive. Even Jaime(one of the best swordsman in the series) lost a hand, so it's almost impossible for a strong character in the series not to have lost something. Take it that Jon has lost his weak 'soul' in the process of dying..... dude has conquered death once and he's ready to damn death again. That alone qualifies him as a good king, leader as per Game of Thrones standard.

Your end paragraph is completely at odds with the rest of your post, which incidentally I agree with.

Being ready to die does not make you a good king. Every damn soldier who goes to battle is ready to die. Heck, Beric has died like a billion times, he must be the kingliest ever candidate in that regard.

You hit the nail on the head by implying that Jon is wear he is due to circumstances beyond his control. I accept that.

What I will not accept is the implicit argument that Jon is where he is based on martial or strategic prowess, because my man is well and truly dumb. 'You know nothing Jon Snow' is not a coincidental catchphrase.

His name and his luck have been mostly responsible for getting him this far. He's a muppet.

Bro for friggin sake the person that performed the ritual was a high priestess of the Lord of light .

Na wa oooo undecided

I know. I was just pointing out that it's a foreign religion. It didn't originate from Westeros like The Old religion and the Seven.
Hence why Jon doesn't really believe the Red Priestess.

Nor vex. Lol cheesy

You can't be chosen on merit if you can't point to a single attribute that justifies your choosing.

Beric doesn't know why he's been chosen cos logically hes not a solid pick. That much he knows.

Do you know if beric was kept alive so that he can help the hound? Both men now have met and have a purpose and that's why I asked yesterday to know what and whose side they will fight for.

As for Jon snow, I have already pointed out his attributes and qualities.

Bro then how do u explain the resurrection of Jon by the red priestess

Lord of light is an unseen character with unrevealed motives.

We don't know why he's picking Jon or Beric or everyone else who's been picked. It would appear that the LoL is not even completely sure of his pick sef, if red priestess reservations about whether Jon could be resurrected again are anything to go by.

So I'm working with a process of elimination here.

It's not martial prowess, I don't think anyone would say Jon is a top 5 fighter even by GOT standards. Even his wildling babe is arguably better than him.

It's not strategic prowess either, as all the decisions he has ever made have been second guessed and challenged for tactical rather the personal reasons, and he has lost his life once and almost lost it again as a consequence.

It's not money either.

I don't want to speculate on what it is. I only know what it's not.

This time i think she is the one manipulating baelish, she's ensnaring him gradually not with sex which i don't think is what baelish desires, but power, you see baelish has a plan, and until that plan changes, sansa or sansas title is key to him getting his ultimate desire, the iron throne and i think sansa senses this and that is why she publicly disagreed with Jon, to give baelish the presumption of things not going too well between she and Jon and i think she'll continue, forcing baelish to commit himself until she can entrap him and wrestle sweet robin and the army of the vale from him so no, sansa ain't no longer stupid

I agree. She knows how to mask her feelings, she's starting to exert her position and power. The only way to beat Littlefinger is if you get him to think that he's winning. In the novels she has her internal dialogues to clarify her duplicitous behaviour, even though she's smiling outwardly. She's grown up, she isn't a fool anymore -but that's exactly what she's pretending to be, and book LF is buying it all up. Silly little Sansa that he can manipulate, meanwhile she's learning from his tricks and gathering dirt on as many people as possible. She's making useful allies, or at the very least friends who have inadvertently taught her much. You've read the Alayne chapter right ? It's not so obvious in the show, this is what people don't get.

Yup that would be functional usage, not a meritorious pick.

You use a spoon because it helps you load food into your mouth, not because it deserves to be used.

Big difference.

Not really, the religion of the north (The Old Religion) is from the Children of the Forest, it originated beyond the wall.

The newer Faith of the Seven and God of Light is from Essos.

Ned Stark sister was raped by the mad king , that's what led to the war- correct me if I am wrong

The Mad King's son; Dany's brother - Rhaegar. What is known as Robert's Rebellion was started by Jon Arryn, and only became Robert's when a succession crisis arose. Their jus ad bellum was self defense from Aerys's aggressions, Lyanna's kidnad and rape only served to fuel that.

Listen to The Hounds speech in this last episode.

Lord of light doesn't choose you because you're inherently special. Jon Snow is definitely nothing special.

I don't want to spoil it for you but Jon snow is special, he has got dragons blood in him so you know what that means........

Let's stop pretending we know why he was brought back or how. Planetosi religion is fashioned like our world's own religions; where you cannot prove or disprove miracles or a god exists, where we cannot explain them. He was brought back and that is that. We may never know why.

His martial prowess is actually amongst the best in the series and pls note that Jon Snow's tactics and growing popularity in the series is what might make him king.

And hw does Jon Snow being king affects you. If he's truly a 'muppet', why does it bothers u so much?

She loses Lady, but not her ability. Only Bran is aware of the ability, the rest just think it's dreams. There's a scene in the novels with Sansa and an old blind dog though.
