You saying jonsnow mum is Dany sister?

Sweet baby Jesus. lipsrsealed

No. His father is Dany's oldest brother who died years ago. Before the show even started.

Yes, but he should have left a few of those "men" at Dragonstone incase of a retreat, even if the rest of his "men" desert him or die in battle. The point is Daenerys storms an empty castle that is not in ruins.

Stannis had a thin army. Barely any men to spare.

Even if he did leave a few men, who will they be guarding it for when stannis is dead?
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by gj22(m): 12:16am On Jul 20, 2017
Gbola5:

Yes. Until another comes to claim it, they would hold the Castle in Stannis's memory. That's how it works.

Hold it for how long? Don't forget that it was probably years since stannis died. After his men lost faith in him you expect them to hold a castle for him

Well, there is a thing in war they call "tactical retreat" and Dragonstone was the place for Stannis. He also went into Battle of the Blackwater almost certain of victory but when he lost where did he retreated to to re-strategise? As I already mentioned, Stannis is one of the finest commanders in the Kingdom. If he didn't make that mistake during the battle of blackwater (which he was more confident of winning), why would he later (when he was even less confident)?

@Gbola5, thanks for the correction. No horn whatsoever (either Dragonbinder or Joramun's) was mentioned on the show. We only know that there was a horn along with the dragonglass found at the Frostfangs.

The simplest answer to this is that the men left.

It's been years since stannis died after all. No reason to keep it guarded with the risk of being branded traitors by the Crown or what not.

When they hear that their leader has died in Battle, what do you expect them to do, still stay there ? and GOT scenes ain't happening in days.... For what we know, Stannis died in Battle like 2 months back, so u expect them to stay in the castle for 2 months eating what ?

Months?

Atleast a year.

Battles are not always about numbers, they are more about strategy or tactics, Jon is all heart and no brain. They stood a fair chance of winning, he made the decision to save his brother with his heart, if he had used his head he would had admitted the truth that sansa the one you called useless told him which is whether victorious or not, rickon as a trueborn son of Ned and catelyn stark, would never be allowed to live beyond that day by Ramsey Bolton! And you congratulate him for being willing to die forgetting that his ragtag Arny was built around him with no secondary commander that commands the respect of the different constituents of the army so simply put, he dies, they die without putting much of a fight! In fact, most of his men died in that battle because of his stupidity! They left a solid defensive position to come save him thereby committing into an attack in which they were grossly outnumbered! Playing into Ramsey's hand allowing him to execute his plans where all he needed to do was sacrifice only his Calvary alongside almost the entirety of Jon's army while mopping any remnants and stragglers with his infantry in a circumvalliation! And you are here praising Jon! Who had to be saved by sansa who brought the vale knights. When Jamie was captured, did you see tywin flying with his army to go rescue him? Instead he retired to a strong defensive position in harrenhall. Now that is a leader who used his head

Lol. Easy for you to say.

Jon's father is Dany's elder brother.

And I was here thinking Ned stark is his real father, as in product of a one night stand or something.

Forgive my ignorance but do you guys know something we don't? As far as I'm aware, there is no "Dragon horn". If you are talking about the horn of Joramun (the one Mance Rayder had), There is no connection between that horn (which admittedly has magical properties) and dragons.

Yeah.... i actually think we know something you don't. wink

Santino1:

Yes, I'm aware of "Dragonbinder" (but that's because I've read the books. A subject that is, for inexplicable reasons, a taboo here). As far as we (TV viewers) are concerned, the Dragonbinder deosn't exist.

...doesn't exist yet.

Stannis died just about the same period Jon's men back at Castle Black were planning the "end of his watch"... about a year and half ago.

Why does Arya stark not want to visit the North and reunite with her siblings? She can't kill cersei all by herself. It will be very tedious.

you're not getting it.....

Why does he need an alliance when he can take on everybody with the three dragons
Don't be deceived, Khaleesi Dothdraki army are good at one on one combat and they have never gone to battle like this before and they are only good on land, I don't think they can battle on water, they need their horse, they the unsullied army are no longer much as before, they will be around 2000 left. She still Allies.

There is nothing for Arya in North, she's a lone Wolf, she prefers being on her own.

Arya meeting ED and those soldiers is not a mistake. ED is here to stay and i feel they will be loyal to arya and be her secret soldiers, these soldiers and ED might help arya kill cerci. sansa has her army, jon snoe has his so its normal for Arya to have her own loyal armies. i think ED is here to stay. so get ready for more of ED.
