Hello guys, after a refusal mail from IRCC today.
I decided to message my department @usask about the visa refusal and that I intend to reapply, I asked them if I can defer my admission and funding till Jan 2018 resumption, the department then told me that if my supervisor will accept that, they will accept also and they will reprint my offer letter and funding letter with new date for Jan 2018 entry and fortunately for me, my supervisor ACCEPTED!

what do you guys think?
Defer or reapply again for September 2017 visa?
Please I need ur contributions guys

Wow, this is good news.
I v read something similar b4 where someone reapplied immediately and got trv asap.

Since d skul has given u d option, u could just defer, since u never know how long it will take ircc to process a trv. And to be on a safe side, how them that you got enough benjimins in ur soa. And that of ur sponsor. U could get another sponsor too.
Also make a strong case in ur loe. U v gotta let 'em know u just got bounced and show determination. Fix d areas that was of concern to ircc.
U also gotta pray. Lift up ur holy book and go to God in fervent prayers. He is still in the business of miracles.
Trv is one area I know 'favour from God' is a needed prayer point.

Your Application was not forgotten it's the Background Check that's causing the delay. IRCC can't do anything about it if it's at the Security Check Stage, which I am almost certain it is.

They will need to get a response from CSIS before updating your application.

Once your Background check is completed they will update your status and give you final decision that same day or the next

Bro, nice analysis.

My background check says 'not applicable'
review of eligibility says 'we are reviewing whether you are eligible'.

Status has been like that since June 1. What does this mean?

Tell us what you wrote in available funds on a major CIC form. I believe you that is where your mistake is.

At submission, I had just 600k in my account (including 300k transferred by bank-to-bank from my dad) and my dad(who wrote a letter of support for me, not letter of sponsorship) had 1.2m.

Tell me how you tackled finance. I dey vex for you. lol

Also, everyone should stop using sponsor or supporter that is not willing to transfer money into your account. Even if he/she is your brother or sister. It is evident that VOs now see them as Third-party, based on multiple GCMS note have received.

Personally I had to change my initial suporter(uncle) because he was reluctant to transfer money and also give me his assets documents, to my dad who had poor flow into his account, manageable balance(1.5m) considering his number of kids-6, but willing to provide all necessary documents and transfer. In fact, he gave them all to me to choose anyone I like. So, be carefully who you choose as your supporter or sponsor. To me, English in letter and affidavit is no longer enough but evidence of money transfer. Shalom!

Regards,
TRV learner.

Good morning pals,

I need advice from gurus in the house please..

Am still very fresh on the application stages and I have very limited chance due to my job.
Now I have just a week vacation and wish to use it to get my transcript, appraisals and other documents sent, but I have not written GRE which is a prerequisite.

Should I send these ones I can lay hands on, while I wait for the GRE?
Will the school(Memorial) keep the documents if I send them now, and hold on till I get the GRE, as it is not readily available?
Or should I get everything thing ready before continuing?

Am asking because i might have this chance again. Please I need a seasoned well informed advice/suggestions...

Boss,

E be like na there you do mistake.

You should have stated atleast 19000* number of years (if you will use the university funding) you will be in that school. I am sure your funding even covers the entire stay yearly.

The fact that they asked for a year does not mean you will put just for one year.

My thoughts though.

Exactly a week after submission of my application, I was rejected on the ground of status in country of residence despite stating expressly in my document and sop that I am not resident in the uk and attaching a copy of my visa page which is valid until next year. I went further by attaching a scanned copy of my return ticket. I still like to know the reason for my the refusal besides the generic one stated in the letter, thus I might apply for a gcms. Any one with a link on how to apply for it? I will reapply upon my return to Nigeria since my resumption date is in January. Glad I undertook this adventure of discovery, this issue is not officially put to bed. Be advised, apply in the visa office recommended for your region.

Yours sincerely,
Sacrificial Lamb.
Now this argument can rest

You applied from UK on a visiting visa right?

Good morning everyone. I am really worried about what i got yesterday. It wasn't denial nor delay. is all about Misinterpretation

On the current application form, you indicate that you were refused a visa to Canada. However, you do not declare that you have ever been refused a visa, admission, or been ordered to leave any other country. According to information in our records, you were refused a visa to the US in 2009, 2010, 2011.
i clearly stated that i was refused visa even with the reasons. i didn't not pay for my SEVIS fee. I was surprised that i got the mail yesterday. @Austineep, MichV, Osemigho, Cannynurse. You people should save a brother here.
Thanks so much as i wait to hear from you

Please I'm a novice and also a new comer but, as the aforementioned titlte is, i volunteered my self to read through comments and post on this great forum, but i doubt if that i knows there is a thread like this i would have done my Bsc in Canada but still God knows how he do his things miraculously but while strolling through all comment and post, mostly the comments and advice are meant for those that have gotten one certificate or the other, I'm yet to see an advice or document to be computed for a prospective University students.
But that's bye the way,

1. I finished my Bsc some months ago and my certificate is yet to be out and even my transcript my institution isn't encouraging in giving it out until your result is ready, and have commenced an online registration with McGill and UBC my question is, PLS IS IT ADVICEABLE TO START ANOTHER FRESH BSC PROGRAM IN EITHER THOSE SCHOOL(IN WHICH THAT'S WHAT I WANT and IF THERE WON'T BE A REPERCUSION FOR IT) OR IS MORE ADVICEABLE TO WAIT FOR MY SCHOOL AS TOUHCHES TO MY RESULTS.
And my Enquiry is,
PLS IF I'M THROUGH WITH THE AFOREMENTIONED UNIVERSITY REGISTERATION AND I WAS GIVEN AN ADMISSION WHAT OTHER DOCUMENT DID I NEED AS A YOUNG STUDENTS THAT HAVE NO JOB AND BASE SOLELY ON PARENTS.
THANKS.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Adunni22: 9:18am On Jul 20, 2017
Hi guys for some reasons been having issues posting. I had to create a new moniker.

First Application (online route)-> 31st may 2017
I applied from the USA and only submitted relevant documents no SOP. Just the following
1. Family information form
2. Study permit application form
3. Passport bio data page (just this page no visa pages or stamped pages)

Refused on June 16th based on
1. Immigration status in country of residence
2. Purpose of visit

I read up about the immigration status issue but I believed I knew the reason why I was denied.I made a very silly mistake especially with my length of stay in my country of residence on my study permit application form.
I was in the USA as an undergraduate student at that time. I therefore put USA as my current country of residence.
So I was asked how long I would be in the USA and I put from August 2013 to may 31st 2017 and I submitted my application on may 31st.
I also chose the USA as the country I am applying from.
So I believe the VISA officer probably thought I was over staying in the USA.
Also I was switching from biomedical engineering to electrical engineering and I didn't state reason for the switch and how both programs are related. Hence, the purpose of visit concern from visa officer. I decided to address this in my SOP.
What the VISA officer didn't know about me is I got an extension of my student immigration status even after graduation because I had an incomplete class I needed to finish.
However, I decided to wait and finish the class and just go apply from Ghana since that's where I am from anyways.
I finished the class on 26th June and left the USA on 27th June.

Second Application (online route)-> July 4th 2017
1.I added an SOP stating that I was previously denied based on purpose of visit and immigration status in country of residence.
In the SOP I address both concerns in great details and provided supporting documents.
2. Letter from my professor justifying that I did have an incomplete grade and was finishing
it up.
3. Letter from international student stating I have maintained my student status since I started school.
4. My form DS 2019 (USA student immigration document)
5. My transcript
6. Letter of completion of all degree requirements. It also stated when my degree would be conferred.
7. Passport with all visa pages and stamps
8. Proof of finances
9. Conditional letter of acceptance from McGill University
10. Proof that I met the conditions of acceptance
11. Upfront medical form
12. CAQ certificate

On July 17th(13days after application), my application was updated and I didn't get any email. The review of eligibility changed to we are reviewing your eligibility
On July 18th(2 weeks after my application) I got a medical request.
I sent a case inquiry form stating I did an upfront medical.
On July 19th (15 days after application) medical changed to passed and I got a passport request at the same time.
What I think helped was the detailed SOP addresing the VISA officers concerns I provided. I also added documents to support what I had written on my SOP.
I prayed fervently.
I would like to say a big thank you to everyone on this thread.
To those who reached out to me, Be aware that I got your emails and I would reply soonest.
Please if you any more questions feel free to ask.
Thank you

I think we are getting clues on why applications take longer time to process. If CSIS has given up to 8 weeks to come up with findings on background check, then does it mean that countries with less than 8 weeks processing time pose a lesser risk to Canada security?
