Eke40seven: Most schools in Germany are very good, the quality of the programmes in partcular might differ. Chemintz, Zwikau all in Saxony....... without a command of the German language, it might be hard to hold down a job, its best you try to contact Nigerian students in the city already. Holiday jobs however are very possible. I can only vouch for Leipzig and Dresden in that state. However, cost of living is definitely veeeery low. so, there you have it. Try to identify with NSIG (Nigerian Scholars In Germany) in the zone your city falls within, you might get useful information. This is very good information. Thanks a whole lot. |

Bros thanks for the answer for chemnitz what about passau and kiel. Man need to make the best decision and pray to God to direct his steps. Kiel or Passau. Two okay options. Always try however to identify with students there already, they will definitely make life easier for you by the virtue of the info they have at their disposal. |

Hi. I just sent you a PM. Kindly respond with a fresh mail and not by replying the PM, so I can get your message. Thanks.
BTW, I've been told by these banks you mentioned that form A is no longer used for payments being made into an account that's not in the name of an institution like a school (for school fees) or a hospital (for medical bills) or any other institutions of such sort.
Up until April 2017 form A was possible. But I doubt it is now. They claim CBN just released a new policy to this effect. Since the blocked accounts (both DB and Fintiba) are in our names, it makes it almost impossible to use FORM A now.
Please if anyone has funded recently (this month of July) in a cheap way other than FORM A, kindly just let us know. Please please and please! Thanks in advance. This was the same response I got from GTB headquarters. I was even about to debate on this and the staff showed me the new directive which has been imposed by CBN. I even showed the staff an invoice from the school but she insisted that I get an invoice which contains the schools account details and not mine in order to transfer the funds. Now I'm left with no choice that to source funds from black market which will definitely have a higher transfer charge of 2% compared to the form A. |

Schwartz:
I read your post a while ago and I am moved to answer. Let me share a small story. There is a guy who studied electrical and information technology in university of applied sciences, Hamburg. He started coding at the age 10 and started this course in Germany at the age of 19 in his year 3 he got a good full time job and his visa moved from student visa to work from which he will be eligible for permanent residence any time soon. Another Naija guy wheel chair bound, a student of the same course, same success story. The success stories of people reading this course has been reoccurring. Especially if you're really good at coding. Don't trade working menial jobs at the interim for a future glory.Even in the so called big cities, the work mostly available is still menial jobs. One thing I noticed about Germany, in most places you find yourself is that once you can speak the language you will get something to do. There must be a restaurant were people eat and dishes needed washing, there must be houses that need cleaning, there must be people moving out that need their stuff moved, baby sitting, lawn mowing, gardening etc During holidays you can move in with friends / naija brothers who will take you in for a fee while you work for a substantial amount of money. Holiday jobs in Daimler, Amazon, BMW, factories, production companies, etc. Hard tasking jobs but at least good pay. If your sole aim is to hustle after euros, do 2 , 3 jobs and send money home then go for big cities; Stuttgart, Munich, Berlin etc but if you wish to get a good well paying and respectable job with the ability to convert your study visa to a permanent stay then go for that elect. & IT course. For others asking about which city to choose, I will give same advice IT is tough and coding is not a child's play in fact I know people that couldn't weather it they dropped out. But at the end it pays, engineering also. This is just my humble opinion based on experience You are 100% right as per the language part and IT, my tip to incoming students don't hurry to come, learn German even if your course is in English, don't forget you are planning to establish yourself here so German is needed. As for work issues, if you have German, you'll definitely get a job. 2 Likes |

Pls guys, form A is messed up. Went to Union bank to use it and after the calculation I was left with no option than to opt for blue market at 417 exchange. CBN is totally messed up with this currency convergence and their failure to review the Form A rate downwards. The blue market gives me 3.602880million but the Form is 363million. Total rubbish!! |

Zenith charged 405 last month. Don't know the current amount. Actually, form A is sanctioned in USD at 360 per dollar. That's CBN set price. The money will be converted from USD to EUR at the point of entry. At least, it's still going contrary to some people's claim. darlingtonNYIG: Pls guys, form A is messed up.
