It can boot to fastboot mode but the issue is that the battery is empty. It can even power on but I dies immediately because the battery is on 0%

Connect to a system and keep the chord plugged in while trying to access fastboot mode, i don't think it should go off

It's not my phone actually but it says no updates available. It's presently on miui 7.3 stable.
That's definitely a vendor rom, that's why you are not getting any updates, and it will remain like that even when miui 11 comes out, unless you flash the official rom grin. You should do that using the fastboot method, but if you have enough data, you can also risk the recovery method since its a snapdragon device.

Just hoping the battery is not bad, you should have done something earlier before it went dead. Do as GrandMufti said, if it can't charge via USB, then open the phone, charge with desktop, and flash another rom.

But why are mtk devices like this? This is the fourth note 4 going dead on this forum. I wonder why the Chinese prefer it to Qualcomm

If you are having issue with Network preference, instead of having to dial *#*#4636#*#* every other time, download MTK engineering app on Google Play store.
Just click Android Settings... Check attached screenshots below.

Works well with mtk devices

Oops. So vendors rom is different from official rom? Wow!!

Anyways, mind giving me the step by step procedures in getting this done through fasboot and recovery method. Also, i wouldn't want any data to be lost during the process.

Ooo, had a similar experience with battery for Redmi note 3 pro, it took over a month, and seller used Greek post for shipping. I think there is something going on for them, shipping cells through Europe.

Na wa o, so what do you think is the best thing for me to do now? I'm getting tired of the wait, any assurances it would I would still receive it or should I look for other alternatives?

If I access it, what exactly should I do in fastboot mode? And isn't there a possibility that it's the charging port that is bad?

I am not disputing the fact that it might be the charging port, what I am saying is, in this kind of situation, it is more likely to be the rom. You are to flash your former rom in fastboot mode. I assume you know how to use miflash

Please, who is familiar with Belgium post tracking system? It reads 'Your shipment has been delivered to the postal operator of the country of destination and will be delivered in the coming days'.
On another tracking website it reads 'shipment in final delivery centre'. This was since 17th of this month......

It works well with Snapdragon too. Though, it is only the 'Android Settings' that works.

@ adegoks, go and check the post office for u r package, the tracking won't update beyond that stage. I also ordered for a phone battery and was shipped via Bpost. It wasn't going beyond dat , ' your shipment has been delivered to the postal service of country of destination but alas , I was sent a message by my post office to come pick up my package or it will be sent back

Hi all,

I intend buying the Redmi Note 4x via aliexpress. Should I go for the Global version or the Chinese version. For those already using the phone, what are your experiences and does it support all networks in Nigeria?

Many thanks for your responses.

Unfortunately I didn't back my former rom up. And I won't mind if you either explain how to use miflash (is it the one I used in unlocking bootloader? ) or show me where I can read it up. Thanks
