m ogheneese07: hello house, I am so happy to be here. You guys have been really helpful. Unfortunately for me I stumbled on this thread late, after my visa refusal in may 2017. I have taken my time to read through it and it has indeed been very helpful. I applied for a pdg in information technology and network security at conestoga college. I have a bsc in computer science and i graduated in 2015. I currently work with the IT dept in my office. i was refused based on purpose of visit and travel history. After going through nairaland i realized that my supporting docs was really weak. I got the job immediately after my service. As of the time i applied i had only worked there for 3 months. list of docs i submitted are; leave letter from my office payslips acceptance letter virgin passport proof of payment of tuition and accomodation my mom was my sponsor SOA with over 3mill employment letter proof of property worth over 10 mill letter of sponsorship I.D card tax clearance I intend on re applying in august for the January 2018 intake. please what do guys think i can do differently ? i plan on including an SOP, employment letter from my office. I will appreciate your input and analysis on my my situation. How long after my refusal can I re-apply again? In my old passport i have a travel history to Dubai but i didn't include it becos i felt Dubai visas are not really considered. I plan on including it in my next application. I have a 3rd class in computer science, i feel including my statement of result will ruin my chances. What do u guys think ? Btw i am 25 years old and will be 26 next year. Is that a good age to apply for pdg... PLEASE I NEED ANSWERS GUYS !! KINDLY ASSIST !! GURUS in the house please help me analyse. WHAT AR |

Hi guys, my application was denied 3 days ago. This is my 3rd attempt and the best prepared application of the 3. Unfortunately, I was denied due to the following reasons. Financial status and personal assets. Purpose of visit Employment prospects in country of residence. Personal assets Current employment situation. This came as a surprise because I studied civil engineering ( HND+ Pgd) and was admitted to study the same civil engineering Meng at the university of Ottawa. (I thought there wouldn't be any purpose of visit issue with the Meng admission). Out of my first year tuition of $17000, I had made tuition deposit of C$10850 and personally had U$4700 and N2.7m in my accounts which would cover the first year tuition balance and upkeep for one year . My sponsor, my maternal uncle, had about 23m in his business account. He got his account officer to issue an official letter stating that he is the only signatory to the account and that he has his personal moneyin the same account. The employment situation in country of residence ISH is the most shocking? I Studied civil engineering and I have been working as a civil engineer for more than 7 years. Presented my employment letter, promotion letter and study leave letter. I just don't understand what they mean by " employment situation in country of residence" In my letter of explanation, I explained the importance of the post graduate studies in my Career and gave an extensive breakdown of my financial requirements and capabilities. I don't know if I can repackage a better application. Do I appeal? Is it worth it? Would it help? Guys, I need your help. Austinpee4, osemigbo, thesoj etx., I need your help. |

Freshestc: 1. Just leave HRM...VOs have beef with that course! 2. Yea you can. Just make sure you don't have any gap year and if you do, clearly state what you were doing through it and make sure it's in line with your profession and life goals! 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by chimah3(m): 10:50pm On Jul 20, 2017 |
To All those using 3rd party sponsors, Its not just enough to get one uncle that has 30 billion in his account and collect his statement to add to your application. The truth is that the visa officer is more interested in knowing if this sponsor can pull out the money and give you when it's needed. So the best advise I give people around this is to get the sponsor to pay your tuition and then collect the sponsor's statement of account and clearly indicate to the visa officer where this transaction was made on your behalf on the sponsors account. This will better convince the Visa officer and will eliminate being denied on insufficient funds. I also noticed purpose of visit is not always about the choice of course and is most times just ticked in the refusal slip for reasons best known to the visa officer. So I want to advise everyone that has been denied lately to apply for their GCMS note and find out the exact reason for their refusal before spending another money blindly on a fresh application. I know the wait and extra expense is painful but it's better to do it right and get it right on your next attempt. We've all been here before...and I can only assure you of one thing 'E go all end in praise'!!! 8 Likes 2 Shares |

brave1773: Since you claim you stated your previous refusals from the US embassy, refer the canadian visa officer to your application form and state in your response that you didn't not conceal it but declared every refusal in your form since you claim you declared them. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by chimah3(m): 11:02pm On Jul 20, 2017 |
Avalon316: Brotherly! This one is quite confusing! I do advise you apply for your GCMS note and know their 'exact' reason for this refusal! After doing that if their reason still makes no sense to you, I do give you another advise, with 7 years work experience, please just try and apply for Express entry...you stand greater chance through that route!! |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4: 11:10pm On Jul 20, 2017 |
ogheneese07: Your intended program is not a new area to you. As a matter of fact, you are knowledgeable in this field already. So you must outrightly convince a visa officer that the PGD is what you need and what will make you competetive in this area. The burden will be greatly on you to explain your study plan with the program. Why it is best for you since you can't get into a master program. How you intend to progress from it to a master program (if this is your ultimate goal) which at the end will make you more competetive and give you more advantages and opportunities. Like it is stated here often, the technical areas and most of Pgc/pgd programs are work place focused. People going for these programs use it to lunch their entry into the work place or use it to change a career field at the graduate level. So everything is up to you to make your plan clear, convincing amd compelling. Your age will not affect your chances. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Avalon316:Na wa o. This one weak me. Bro, before you get a very good work around of your situation. You will need your gcms file. The VO emphasis is cleary on the fact that you will not return home after study. You need your file ASAP. Please order it before you reapply. |

brave1773: Write a letter to them either by your self or a lawyer if you have stating that you actually filled the information when you applied. Give them as full details as you have and if you have any proof. You can also put it there. Ensure you are very sure of the info you are supplying them. Regards |

Good evening brothers, you all have been wonderful. I am new here and so far i am impressed with what i am seeing. My Canada study permit was recently refused (reason: length of proposed stay in Canada and purpose of visit) I wish to reapply but my UCI number is 10 digits instead of the normal 8 digits and as a result can not all fit into the Study permit Application PDF file. Please does anyone here know the reason for this and is there a solution to this problem? Urgent |

I just checked CIC website now. it's either eight or ten digits. So you better not omit/leave out any digit when filling your form to avoid stories that touch Wango:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=772&top=4 |
