Hello All,. Please help a brother....
My enrollment date is October 1. I am yet to receive my final acceptance letter but have the conditional acceptance letter. Yet to open blocked acct too.

Here's the thing.. I checked embassy's website only to find out that there are no appointments for September any longer and only for those with enrollment date from November 15..

I read here that I can ask my school for an extension of enrollment to apply..

My questions now are -

1 - Can the school extend enrollment for me from October 1 to November 16? Is this feasible and practicable from any one's experience?

2 - Is there another way I can still get an appointment date in September?

Kindly help a brother.

Thanks

Greetings from Würzburg. It's not easy to come back to Nairaland after moving to Germany. I can share my experience so far after my exams. Good luck to all winter applicants.

Hi house,

Please advice on ds.

No 9 b on Visa application form.

" I intend to stay no longer than one year in the federal capital territory and apply a visa that covers the whole duration of my stay"

Is it to be ticked or left. My program duration is 3 and half yrs BA @ Soest.
Not sure but from info I got here they said it should be ticked. Nice to know there's someone heading my way, I'm going to Soest as well

1.Mail your school about extension of enrollment deadline.
No one here can tell you if your school can extend.

2. NO OTHER WAY. September is already filled up in Lagos.

Tick it....

It simply means you will apply for the Ausweis when you get to Germany to cover your period of study.

I did not tick it when I submitted my visa application, I thought it meant that since I will spend two years which is more than a year that I should not tick??, hope it won't affect my visa application, it has been up to 20 days after my interview now and no message yet from the embassy and I have equally funded my blocked account ...?
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Eldeee(m): 9:56am On Jul 22, 2017
Good morning all, just received my confirmation of block account details yesterday from fintiba, will like to verify which of the pdf downloaded documents am i to upload for visa interview application, is it the "make the transfer pdf" or "contract details block account pdf", cos after going through the two documents thoroughly i seem to be confused as to which is required for the visa interview application, the first one contains the account details ie acc number and so on, while the later is just a long list of agreement details. pls for those who have since passed this stage, will be needing your kind response. thanks

Am also wondering how we are going to pass this hurdle of visa interview dates fully booked, just wondering if extension of enrollment deadline will always suffice. Anyway i will email my school international office after the visa interview application, they just have to find a way ooooo. Never heard about this kind situation at all. America embassy wey people dey flock like say tomorrow no dey, such have never been heard from them. They should at least try and make provisions for more improvised visa officers in situations like this.

Hello,

Please did you tick the below?

I intend to stay no longer than twelve months in the Federal territory and apply for a visa that covers the whole duration of my stay.

Let me know...thank you

Yes. But include your department, i.e. the name of the course you are going for.

For example, you can put:

International Office
Department of Industrial Economics
University of North Rhine WestPhalia
0304625 NRW, Germany.

If you know any specific contact person at the department or the international office there, or the name of the person written on your admission letter (usually the person who prepares and sends the admission letter), you can add their name first before stating the address.

Hope this helps.

Hello, thank you so much for your response. Someone told me to either I get a scholarship or have a blocked account because most schools in Germany are free. But my main question is this, approximately how much do I need to have to start a life in Germany? I'm looking at beginning the process next year. But I want to have full details. As per my course of study, I'm looking at Masters in any Digital Media/Digital Marketing related course. Please advice on the location as well. I would like location thats peaceful and easy to get a job. Thanks.

gabi101:

hello, welcome to the fam! i really don't know where to help from but i would try. there are three means to get access this country(germany):Blocked account of about 8760 euros(not sure), Sponsorship letter which shows you have someone in Germany whose working and earns atleast 1500euros that can fund your education and lastly scholarship fund. for starting the processing you need to first find the course/courses related to your field(i can help you with this) ,then apply. For masters studies, most schools need your documents sent to them by post while few applications are done online. when you apply you will see the documents each individual school require from you.You need a test of English language certificate or proof of English proficiency as part of application documents...i cut my coat here.you should prepare to apply for summer(oct-dec) or winter(mar-july) application 2018, with dates depending of the schools you intend applying to.If you need help in finding any course you wish to apply to just let me know anytime.

Relax man! I didn't tick it too. So long as you were not contacted by the embassy or FedEx/DHL after the first 2 weeks from your interview to come for your documents, it means they have very strong interests in giving you the visa. They were simply waiting for you to fund your account, that's all. Since you've funded now, just ensure you send them the notification from the bank once you have it by mail so they can start processing your visa. In short, you have the visa already bro. Congrats! Go and start celebrating. Start packing your things and get set for #WINTER

I didn't tick it. I think there are parts of the form (including this part too) that don't really apply to student visas. So whether you tick it or not, it has no effect on the application. The first question one should ask is, since student visas are long term visas spanning more than 12 months, and the German embassy never gives a visa permit for more than 3/6 months from here (they know when we get there we will have to extend the permit to be able to remain in Germany for the period of our studies there,) then ticking it or not is irrelevant.
(My thoughts though, I stand to be corrected.)

Make The Transfer!!!
@donkafor... Please do you know of any bank still accepts form A for tuition/living expenses. My bank(GTB) refused to process mine and told me it can only be transferred to the Uni's account, despite showing them an invoice from the school. With the look of things.. blue market is the only alternative which is not that easy to get.

Try Zenith, Union and ECO Banks first before going for blue market...

Eldeee u are so right. What incompetence on d part of german embassy nigeria to say they are fully booked. Only in Nigeria do we get trash. Just imagine. Do they know the stress involved in getting admission, opening blocked account, getting almost 4million naira and they go to their site to write trash about being fully booked. Instead of meeting up wit demand, they give lazy excuses. Even America that pulls the highest crowd has neva put such rubbish on their site. That is wat we get being in a lawless country like Nigeria. German embassy was established in Nigeria to serve the masses, both poor and rich so if they have agents on nairaland please advice them to make use of the embassy in abj for students and other visas that have deadlines and stop giving excuses on their incompetence. Or better still close down abj office.

Man take a chill pill, u should get dates so soon. Remember dx is a public platform and it's not only read by Nigerians. One the first note, u should be aware no one forced you to apply for their visa and truth be said they have their policies and they are fixed up. They would surely come back to gv u positive response and be careful of whatsoever u say here because it could be at detriment to incoming applicants. This German policy and u don't need to start making comparison with other countries. I'm not saying people don't have right to say what's not favoring them but I should be on a lighter note. What u post here online today might affect other incoming people. Just try and filter u words, I would have advised u to go for US study route if ur claim is that Germans are incompetent. Be careful bro.

Well heard but you know their bureaucracy has a specific number of persons they let into the country per year, and it's distributed according to specific visa. That's why it is advisable to book on time. The Abuja embassy is for emergencies and special case, However, currently Germany is the second immigrant destination after the USA. Open for critics

Abuja Office has it's own designated duty clearly stated on their website. Be polite while asking for a favour.

My friend in church has applied to a school in Germany and is expecting a feedback soon. But he has a German Friend who is willing to offer him a Letter of obligation for his visa (to replace the bank account stuff). He asked me if his friend giving him the Formal Letter will still be asked to pay the blocked account money eventually... i told him no, but just to be sure, can someone confirm for me or otherwise?? Will the German be made to pay any monies?

Any ANSWERS?
