Thank you @hunniesuzie
Unfortunately I didn't confirm with my two korokoro eyes as regards the 10wks weight because the scale reading wasn't facing my direction and those nurses at the PHC can be sometimes annoying.
I will definitely go back next week and measure again and then see a doctor if there's no improvement.

Well I have been using the ergo 360 baby carrier since he was 6 days old. I got it for about £130. Sincerely I can tell you that since I have being using it I never had back arch or shoulder pains. Even if you want to use any carrier that is cheaper please always go for the one that your baby's leg will be in a frog leg like shape when wearing it, this must be so because of his hips. Another thing to look out for is that the shoulders should be padded to avoid pain and also go for one with waist pads and other features to straighten your back. Please note that good carriers don't make you bend your back when you carry your baby rather your back will be straight.

The bolded part is very very important. I have been searching for the words to say them. Mothers please be aware of that. The seating area must be wide enough that the hips are spread out and well supported to avoid stories that touch tomorrow.

No na...
Skineal isn't body cream..pls do not use it for your baby.

If you wanna go natural, Ori is fine and coconut oil is fine.

if ur baby has rashes, applying baby tribotan to the affected area is fine.

for diaper rash, sudocreme is fine

It is not advisable to give cough syrup to a baby of 8mnths.Cough syrup can only be given to a child of 1 year above.kindly join the group on Facebook.. Ask The Paediatrician... All the issues relating to children have been treated by Medical Consultants.

Not good, skineal and its cousins epiderm cream etc contain strong cortico steroids and should not be used for longer than two weeks. Its not even usual to prescribe such for babies unless its needed. It will thin (weaken) your baby's skin over time amongst other issues than can occur.

@giddyperson, @naomi14, everybori. Im about to give up on breastfeeding. My milk supply has refused to be reliable. My baby was patient at the beginning when there was almost nothing coming out such that i had to supplement with formula to stop weight loss Ive drank so much ogi that if u cut me ogi might flow before blood so dont even volunteer that advice again. She's no longer patient to suck such that even now that its flowing beta than before, she will beat my bt and start crying if its not fast enough. N once she's annoyed, na 1hour + cry be that.

My ability to sleep at night is disappearing before my very eyes. Cos she used to be content to suck bt from 8pm till daybreak. Last night i had to make a bottle before she could eat enough to go back to sleep. I want to know if there's any other solution before i give up n face formula only.

You don't have to give it up! Some women just don't lactate well no matter what efforts they apply. Keep offering both .

Mine too didn't flow well despite having breast made for ten women. embarassed

What I did was to feed my son formula every 3hrs and breast milk in between! Breast milk wasn't our main meal and we did just fine.

Formula feed stops at 8pm daily and he will suck whenever he he wakes up till 8am when I make his bottle of milk! We still breast feed anyways at 20months *covers face*

However try some of this.
Fenugreek powder.
Moringa tea.
Uda pepper soup.
Bitter leaf soup cooked with cocoyam.
And see if any will work for you.

@reniduke, don't give up nau! Rice and tea works for me. Try what this mama said. Am sure it will flow better but if it doesn't, continue with formula so your lo doesn't go hungry.

Why not give formular as her last meal before bed so she can sleep longer and you too can relax a bit. .

If she wakes at night you can try breast feeding.

During the day: you can alternate formular and breast feed, if giving formular and you have help, let someone else feed her and you go and express so your supply can be maintained. Inbetween the formular feed, you can breast feed.

You can freeze the expressed breast milk and use at a later date.

Also try not to wait she is visibly hungry before breast feeding her, since the lil' diva is impatient. That way everybody is in a relaxed mode!

Drink loads of fluids, especially water as you are breast feeding or expessing, it helps a lot.

Pele! If you still decide to go strictly formular, there is nothing wrong with that as well.

A little palmoil and sugar.
Mix it into a paste, not too thick not too loose.
One teaspoon every 2 hours.

I discovered that beans increased my milk supply, as in hot porriage beans
Zobo also gave me the same results
If all fails, please give more formula, the most important is for baby to have a full tummy
you can give formula first, then bobby as dessert
she will be more patient if she is not very hungry
you dont need to give up totally on b/feeding
keep giving her to suck, with time both of you will find a rythm that works well

Cough syrup is not advised in babies because it looses up the phlegm and the baby cant cough it out.
most times in struggling to get rid of the mucor, they end up vomiting.
I gave my 9month old zinnat for the cough/catarh and it cleared within 2 days.
its very effective.

i agree with all replies so far. Also don't let yourself get frustrated over it cuz that affects the flow. The baby is already three months old just go with the flow. There would be more babies to EBF in future.

Mamas good morning. Please my 3weeks old daughter poops a lot. 3/4 times a day. She is both breast and formular fed but formular is maximum of two 90ml bottles per day. I have been giving her NAN and I don't know if that is the culprit so I got Similac this morning. However, I want to know if it's normal (I doubt 3/4 times poo for a new born is normal). My diet has been good and varied. She eats really well but the constant pooing is what I'm not comfortable about. Had anyone's baby reacted to NAN or is this normal for breast/formular fee babies?

Personally I think it is normal because according to science their stomach is yet to develop to a level that food can stay very well. For the next month expect poo as she eats. Its only recently that my 4 month old started pooing once a day and sometimes he won't for like three days. So don't beat it. It is normal
