Yes, plenty. Even schools that require English test for intl students can waive it for you. Just mail them and tell them you are a Nigerian and that your official language is English and that you did your undergraduate studies in English. They may then ask you to forward "English as a Medium" through your school just as you would a Trascript.

Thank you so much because I and my hubby are going for student visa, I for f1 and f2 for him. We were refused at our first trial so he decided to stay back while I proceed for my studies. We have agreed that he will apply for f2 much later after am gone but wouldn't be leaving with me in the US. He intends to retain his job in Nigeria and be coming for visiting only throughout the duration of my stay. I was thinking that it wouldn't be possible initially for him to enter US unaccompanied by the f1 holder.
Thanks for informing me he can come in and leave as he pleases alone on f2.

Good morning beautiful people. I have started my applications for spring 2018. one of the schools am applying for have a separate portal for LOR to be uploaded by recommender themselves. so my recommender wants to know if it is proper to just upload the letter after typing it on text editor without signature or whether to print it first, sign it, scan it and then upload?

Also other schools that I wl be uploading the letter myself, which of the above options is more acceptable ?

Please help a friend o

If you open the LOR page, some will have TEXT SPACE where you can copy and paste the recommendation. If there is such, it means signature is not compulsory. If the page has an UPLOAD button, you upload the recommendation from a PDF or MS Word document with or without signature.

Was denied visa today for the second time this month at Lagos CG. Please help me review my transcripts.

Vo- Tell me where you are going to in US?

Me- Bowling Green state university in ohio for my bachelor's degree Exercise Science.

Vo- Why bgsu?

Me- they have low students ratio majoring in exercise science. (VO CUTS IN)

VO- Why is that important to you?

Me- it's provide an opportunity for an intensive individualized academy program for students, making students have the best use of their academy skills and time management's. Also, BGSU involve undergraduates students in research programs.( Vo was nodding).

Vo- Why exercise science?

Me- it's suits my career path to being an athlete trainer and also I will like to know more about using human movements, sports and leisure to benefits human lives and improve well being.

Vo- do you write any exams?

Me- yes I have 2 SAT scores. 830 and 1150.

Vo- what research program did you say bgsu offers for undergraduates?

Me- I was in contact with an associate professor (professor k toldlock) in the university who is undergoing a research as regards prevention and cure of some athlete injuries and was offered a chance to be part of the research.

Vo- name some of the injuries?

Me- hamstring, muscle pull, bone dislocation etc...

V0- I can see you have been out high school for 4 years now...

Me- yes

Vo- what have you been doing ?

Me- upon my high school graduation In 2013, I helped my mother's business as driver, I supply her merchandise to customers from one point to another and in 2014, I joined my local government football club where I play a defensive midfielder in regional competitions till date. I contacted bgsu in 2015 and finished my admission requirements in 2016 November.

(VO paused for like 3 mins and said nothing but staring at the monitor, naxo he gave me the blue paper o.

Hello my beautiful nairalanders. Please I came to inquire from anyone with vital information. I thank you all for the previous answers I got here and the OP for opening this thread. I may not put it in the right way but I believe from experience you would understand what I intend asking. I want to know how much Gtbank converts naira to dollar for students. My sis already got the ticket to USA and she will be traveling anytime soon because her school will resume by 15th of next month. How do we go about the conversion? Is there any way we can get a conversion rate of #310-315? Please any way u know how to help with this question, please do. Thanks.

If you operate a Current Salary Account with any of the banks, you could even get lower than 310 when you talk to your account manager.

Otherwise, walk into your bank and ask for PTA (personal travel allowance). They would require your Int. Passport, Visa, Flight ticket. The standard rate is $360.

Visa approved this morning at lagos consulate 7:45 after been delayed last week Monday.
Left home around 5am got to the embassy, had to seat down under the tree to calm myself down. Joined the que around 6:30. I was praying in my mind that father I will not pay another visa fee again. I must leave here with my own white paper. I was praying for favor, I told God that I need a good vo and very short interview. My transcript goes this way.
Vo. Good morning
Me. Good morning sir.
Me. How was ur nite.
Vo. Fine
Vo. Why are you going to the US.
Me. Am going for my master degree in Statistics at utep.
Vo. What do u do
Me. I work with xyz. I explained what o do there.
Vo. What did u study
Me. Statistics.
Vo. Did u write GRE.
Me. Yes
Vo. I see u were denied at Abuja last week Monday. The guy saw all that transpired btw I n the vo at abj seems the guy dropped a comment. The vo was like u told the vo at abj u got admitted into so so n so sch and now u r telling me something different.
Me. I don't think the vo at Abuja hear me clearly, I told him I considered uic and University of Texas Austin but the tuition fee is about $9000 more that UTEP and my sponsor sais she can't afford that so my reason for turning to utep (I was just praying seriously in my mind)
Vo. Define standard deviation (I was like if na dis one Gud don catch u, I defined it he was Just nodding. Then I heard the magic word coming with my white paper.
All thanks to lagosismyhome, texrem and others that posted their transcripts. You guys are really wonderful.
My advice pls mind and what u tell the vo cos they type it into ur profile ooo. If not how did he know I told the vo at abj another sch.

They are not convinced that you are a genuine student. Your reason for selecting your school is generic, applies to most US schools. Also, exercise science? Why can't you do that in Nigeria?

Good morning fellow NLanders.....This is how my interview went.....
I lodged in an hotel with a friend, we woke around 2am to start our Vigil after which my oga at the top Mr. patovicy did final mock with me,fortunately his first two questions were the VO's first two questions.
I got to embassy as early as I could around to 5am, I was the first person at the embassy with just one security. I mentiained my first position even at queue, I did my biometrics and it started raining after the processes I became second person to be interviewed by the woman in her over 40years. The first person was approved and I keyed into his testimony because we are from the same alma mata and the guy was just skipping.
Now my interview in proper.

VO: Good morning
Me: Morning ma, how was your weekend?
VO: fine thank you
VO: Can I have your documents
Me: I gave her without objection
VO: what is your highest level of education
Me: Bachelor of Technology
VO: when did you graduated
Me: 2014
VO: From where
Me: Lautech
VO: where are you going
Me: I am going to Concordia University Wisconsin, USA to study MBA in MIS
VO: how many schools did you applied to
Me:Three...Lincoln University, Kings University and Concordia university Wisconsin
VO: how many admitted you
Me: two, Lincoln and Concordia
VO: why this school
Me: Everything I knew disappeared from my mouth but remain on my head. Then I replied CUW is a business oriented institution
VO: I said why did you accept to go to this school that gave you I-20
Me: I went blank for some second then I replied Concordia offers business courses that combine technical skills and ethical skills which comprises of the technical know-how required for me to attain managerial position in my company.
VO: who is sponsoring you
Me: my father
VO: what does he do
Me: he is a major dangote cement distributor, he has three filling stations and owns a saw mill factory where he supplies planks to estate contractors.
She did not say anything like normal magic word like I will be approving your visa, she just put her hand where blue paper is and I was like Jesus another 64k again, miraculously she brought out white paper and I quickly grabbed it and run away from her presence before she change her mind and I left shouting thank you like a town cryer.
To God be the Glory.

Ideally, it should be ready 2-3 working days counting from the next day of your interview. Also, you can track the status of your passport on your visa appointment homepage. You should also get an email and a text message from ustraveldocs once the passport is ready for pick up.
