You're asking if an Nkem is Igbo when someone just said Chukwuma Nzeogwu is not Igbo.

Nkem is not Igbo.

No Igbo man dead or alive had ever said that Nzeogwu is not Igbo.

Banjo was a traitor, I have read the full transcript, shame about it but Ojukwu did what had to be done by executing him. Traitors are dangerous

Another weary way to detect a fool!
I can bet you never read the whole stuff!
Anyway I can't blame you, it's your myopic way of reasoning that becloud your thinking faculty.
Go back and ask your father or grand father (if he's still alive) the real jist about the war, u will understand clearly that it would have been better, Ojukwu listened to Banjo's advice then. Up till his death, I mean Ojukwu: he still regretted not following the advice of Banjo, he has privately met with the latter's family to tender an unreserved apologies, not once but countless time. You are not famous for anything, that's the glaring truth.

Kanu remain the number one recognized Igbo leader today , he has the support of majority of Ndiigbo.
Kanu seek no fame, he seeks for the freedom of his people, and majority his people recognizes this fact, reason why he commands massive fellowship.

Azikiwe had played his role and is no more. Now we the present Igbo generation have a destiny to fulfil, and in Kanu, we had found a brave soul who will not betray this destiny.

Now I understand why he calls his people Pigs and ...
What a diplomatic leader!! grin

If being a slowpoke, yelling in an already loud mic , making a hate speeches is what makes one a leader, then am sure Kanu would be president of Nigeria already.

What a diplomatic leader!! grin

Thankyou for that, most of us need to visit our history book, nzeogwu never had an Igbo blood in him, he was more of a northerner and he carried out the coup not on ethnicity, because during pre independence north were handling so many positions and they were really active in the independence negotiations, post independence had them still occupying top positions.
Nzeogwu never had Igbo blood in him?? shocked Ok, you are right - he must have had Zimbabwean blood in him....

This one is calculating war like someone selling gala in Ojuelegba traffic.

Nairalanders, help me judge this matter o.

The Biafran Army lost a battle and moved back by 100Km. They finally moved forward by 20Km before being beaten back by another 70Km.

Did they make progress or retrogress?
Lol,you dimwit,now who's calculating??,
War is war,
Nothing glorious ,the only count is lives,of which the Nigerians lost a lot for each km they gained, and even till the end didn't entirely complete their ''police action''.in fact the nigerians lost way more combatants that the enemy whose major loss were in civilian lives.nothing glorious, just facts.so stop glamourzing war like it's a video game.

When you lose the argument due to genetic intellectual failure, you resort to infantile comments like this.

When Afonja was winning battles, your ancestors were selling your fathers for slippers and walking sticks.
Lol! Intellectual?

What's intellectual in a Yoruba man opening a NL account, claiming Igbo, just to pitch Igbos against each other? grin
More like treacherous genetic imprint.

Afonja won no battles, except against his fellow weak Yoruba men. grin

This is the first time the Victor Banjo side of the story will be told. None of the books (those I read & life stories from veteran) ever did. The book should be published.
If u were so conversant with nigerian histories , this won't be new to you I insist .

I must also tell you not depend on Wikipedia any more . All details of incidents that happened before, during ad after the coup has been taken down .

Wikipedia initially gave accounts of coups including details of how Ahmadu bello was killed and so many interesting details, all has recently been taken down and remodified

You are right to an extent, when the coup struck,it was celebrated in the newspapers of the as the Nigerian revolution, but as soon as the counter coup struck,it became the ''Igbo coup'',that is why we are here.
And don't forget the asaba massacre, while an entire generation of men were wiped out by the orders of Muritala,so the Midwest wasn't spared as you put it,asaba is just 12 minutes from Okapnam.
Igbos were claiming victims because it later backfired and that of asaba was a sold out, my own opinion, Igbo's owes the north an apology.

Mention 1 Igbo soldier who won an advance during the Biafran war.

You can't mention any cos the Biafran Army made only ONE advance during the war and it was led by Banjo.

You bloody ingrate come here and talk trash about Banjo.

I repeat, where was your father when Banjo was leading the Biafran advance? He must have been peeling yam for women to pound. Efulefu.
It's true o, Banjo's advancements was the only advancement of the ragtag Biafran army west ward. This people are just ingrates

No, get ur facts right . It's the other way round. The Hausas and Yoruba were the first to call for secession even right under the British rule.
Azikiwe diplomatically united all (Awolowo and bello) and coined the "one Nigeria" slogan . He asked for it to be put in the constitution after which the British agreed to . Then, A call for secession became treason.
That was why he frequently advised Ojukwu against the war and when he wasn't yielding, he left the war torn country for Ojukwu to sort himself . He knew Igbos were guilty of treason

Yes, I understand what you mean. wink But again, I guess he just wanted to concentrate on Banjo, even though it would have been nice to have included all the efforts that led to the Federal side taking over the old Midwest, as the final chapter to the whole story.

Nzeogwu is not an IBO man, he was from Midwest and he didn't carry the act as one, they wanted sanity and as a young major full of hormones, he organized a coup, which unfortunately had many people in north affected and he did that for awolowo too. The problem with Nigeria started with the youths and that's why the elders of today are afraid to relinquished power to youths, so that what happened in the 60s won't repeat itself. Assuming the killings targeted every tribes equally it wouldn't have raised sentiments. The North's are yet to forgive IBO's for the killings of their leaders.

You're not an Igbo woman. How many Igbo people do we see in this day and age spelling "Igbo" as "Ibo". Throughout my time on Nairaland, I've only really seen non-Igbos doing this undecided. Ikenna0b come and see this "we the South-East Igbo" fraud here. Nzeogwu was a full-blooded, handsome Igbo man and I'm proud to be from the same ethnic group as him.
