Both UNIs are cool..
Buh uniben has higher compettition than unizik.. Unizik offers igbo in year one as a Gss course. Now it is left for u to decide.
UNIBEN uses only jamb and there cut-off was 311 last year . . make your choice

No sir, I'm not a UNN student. I'm a student of unijos, but my younger brother applied for unn... Average according to last year's calculation 302.2. But there is this rumour that unn might not be using the point system this year, maybe only jamb or they will go back to post ume, reason being that, the performance of of the students admitted last is terrible

I don't know my brothers chances, though his jamb score is 284
Sir, Is It True That Unijos Medsurg Used To Take Up To At Least 7yrs Due To Strike Action?
And Pls Can I Do Unijos Medsurg Remedial With E8 In Physics Waec?

Here is my observation and opinion about the issue you just raised up there:
My observation: Beginning from primary through high schools, if you have the privilege of interviewing pupils/students of the course they would like to study in university, you would discover that almost 80% of them want to study medicine & surgery, 10% law, 6% engineering courses and the rest for the other courses. The reasons for the aforementioned are unemployment, ignorance, poverty etc.. People believe that when you graduate with MBBS you will surely gain employment, which is partially true.
Ego, every kid wants Dr to be attached to their names. Parents want their kids to be called Dr.

My opinion: Inasmuch as MBBS is good and prestigious, it should not be only option. Parents should try as a matter of necessity to guide their wards in choosing where their interest lies, not what their friends want. In 2015/2016 jamb, more than 12500 candidates competed for 100slots in unilorin, more than 10000 in oau for 100slots.It would take 100years for all of them to be admitted provided new candidates are not joining them. We can't all become doctor! being a doctor doesn't give you financial freedom nor high social status, they are earned through hard work and chance.

You should have seen the headline first before commenting.....MEDICAL STUDENTS THREAD..meaning all docs or aspirants of medicine are expected to be seen here....
Other depts have theirs..... so whatever dream each and everyone decides to pursue its up to them...be it whatever you call it, passion, ego , finances or otherwise, its their choice and life...

All the books you're gonna need
Both Indian and others. You heard me right- Indian books.
-You can have Vasudevan, Charteajea , Sembulimgam , Harsh Mogan all in clean soft copy.
So drop your mails while I find start work.

May I use this time to say that as a medical student, a tablet is a must-have. You need it. If you have money, buy an iPad, bcause the battery life is flawless. The iPad 4 has a battery capacity of over 11,000 mah. If you're just using it to read without browsing, you could go for 4days without charge.

If you don't have money so much, buy a good tablet with a decent battery life. Tecno pads have decent battery life. Samsung too.

With a tablet you can have so many books at your disposal. Instead of buying one book and being limited, you can have as many as 4. It gives you an advantage over ur peers. And best if all, you can read anywhere.

Good luck guys. I'll get back to y'all.

Dr Lomaxx please I need your help here.
