We would rather buy with the kill capability from China and Pakistan than buy fancy toys with use restrictions. Nigeria is not finding it easy in the high-end Arms market for geo-political reasons especially in the west whose platforms mostly are cost effective and easy to maintain.

The Alpha Jet a Franco-German Fast Jet has proven an effective platform in the NAF for some of the reasons u mentioned. Those pilots even flew the Alphas at night in Freetown when it's avionics lacked night-time capability. It is a beautiful and great platform for advanced training and the attack role. The under-rating is quite unnecessary–the bird deserves it's due. Surely with newer birds we can do much more but the Alpha Jet still fulfills an important role in the NAF. Not going away soon. Some countries still fly vintage MiG-21 even with their newer birds.
