i also do not accept requests if i am in a 2.5 surge area and a request of 1.5x surge is pinging.

You inspired me to go into uber. I've done it for about 6 weeks & no savings. Haven't grossed beyond #70k. Put in at least 10hrs a day & now requests are declining. What can you & ogunvic41 do to assist? I came into it to succeed.
My car is a 2008 corolla. My mechanic said the catalyst inside exhaust pipe that saves fuel is bad & that I need another exhaust pipe as the catalyst is inside it & can't be detached. As a result I spend #6-7k daily on 11-14 trips. Any help here will be welcomed
Also driving strategy advice will be fine.
I met a rider that wanted us to do offline deals but required uber receipt for office reconciliation. I said it wasn't possible but she said a driver she lost contact was doing it. How can that be done?
Another rider told me how a distance he normally pays between #700-800 a particular driver made him pay #2k plus without surge. Is there any legit way of upping the fare?
In case we need to speak off thread, here's my number 08096438883

Morning bro. Here is my advice.

On your earnings, try to register with other e-hailing services platforms to increase the number of requests you will get.

On the catalyst issue. Best is to buy a new exhaust system for your car.

On the issue on upping trip earnings, there are apps you can use. But KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE DEACTIVATED ONCE THEY CATCH YOU. So it's best to pray to God and hope for the best.

On the issue of receipt, you could have gone to these book sellers now to buy receipt booklet or use online sites to create and edit receipts.

I bought this car 2months ago 1.4m 2008 Nissan sentra because of Uber thinking the business is very lucrative. Now the can AC system is condemned and I don't have 50k to fix the car AC, transportation business is indeed not for learners. I want to sell the car and go back to my former hustle

probably you bought a fragile registered car that cannot withstanding the rigour of the work. We can't just blame it all on Uber?

Were the three times you worked on the AC with the same technician? If they were I would advise you take it to another person to have a look at it.

Another reason people make loss in this business is because they didn't get to hear both sides of the story on this business. They only took the money being made by drivers and put all their hopes on Uber and Taxify. Am sure if I had told you that in two months time things will not be as it were when you started you would not have believed me.

My advice, find cash, find another AC man (if you want I can direct you to mine), fix your AC, come up with a plan that will work for you if you are the one driving it yourself. If not find a trust worthy driver and give him the car on HP. Let him give you 100k per month. In that sense, he doesn't destroy your car in a few months.

But if you driving yourself, make a plan that will help you maximise profit.

Did you say very soon the business will no longer be lucrative? I don't know about you, but truth is, it's already happened. The e-hailing business is no longer like it used to be.

i knew it will soon slow down

Brother the major challenge you have is your car. Don't try to do any cheat because they will block you. Go fix your car, even those without catalyst can't consume as much as urs do. Besides what type of 2008 Corolla, how did you buy it, registered or tokumbo?

Hello happy people, so if a driver wants to swap partner/change his car and uber is yet to effect the change after he has submitted the form, is it advisable to start driving the new car even though it's the old one that's still showing on the drivers profile

Plus, during the course of filling the swap form, uber stated driver can continue driving with old partner detail. Won't riders be skeptical about the car u pick them in?

See what this enemies of progress called Uber sent to me.

"UBER: Dave, is everything OK? We noticed you haven't taken a trip via Uber in a while. If you have any issues, we're here to help!"

So because I am not driving on Uber to work like a slave and earn peanuts that means that everything must not be OK.
