Liason directly with the school. They will be the best to advice and also advice if you need a new i20 with a revised date .... in summary the answer lies with the school

Ok thank you.

Quickly inform your school. When I told mine, they said they could issue an extension. School is meant to resume on the 28th, with orientation being on the 21st.

Ok. The school already sent a letter that covers the lateness since my sisters I-20 didn't get to us from them in time. Thank u.

Hello.

I am currently in the same situation. After the interview I was told that I would have to undergo administrative processing. The lady didn't initially tell me how long. When I pressed, she said a week or so. This is Day 3. My passport is still with the embassy.

The wait is terrible! I am just going through my days like a zombie. Neither here nor there. Can't even feel anything. angry

My sister's passport was handed back to her and she wasn't told when the AP will end, even when my dad pressed on to know since her school already resumed on te 7th. The VO said they would try their best to be fast. This is her 4th day of waiting and believe me it's not easy. She is a child and doesn't understand what we the adults pass through having to go to Lagos back and forth.

Hey guys.
I'm also in this boat for one of my kids. Meanwhile my other child and mine have been picked up at DHL office. This is going on week 2. The wait is killing.

Did they give any reason at all why she had to undergo administrative processing? This is so unfair to her! I know it is their country and all but I think they should be fair to students, especially if the school is resuming soon.

I'm so sorry to hear this. The wait is indeed terrible. The worst part is there NOTHING you can do. Your only recourse is to either ask for your passport back, which you will then have to mail back once the visa is approved, or withdraw the visa application entirely.

It's so unfair.

Hello, I intend taking SAT I and TOEFL, please which US school gives full scholarship to international students based on their test scores. I have been searching but haven't seen any yet. Thanks.

It's amazing to find out older people do visit here. I had the impression that most of us on here are in our early or late twenties but with the way at which people have been mentioning admission processing for their kids, I have disavowed that notion already. Well, I haven't been disrespectful to anyone so far and I'm glad. Good morning daddies and mummies in the house!

My dear no reason. Just that her application would need to go through AP. My dad asked what that immplied, she said "sir I ve not denied your daughters visa but her app would need to go through AP. I tire o. We will just keep waiting and hoping to hear from them before the week runs out. My sister is stylishly wearing all her already packed clothes lol. We don shout tire.

This makes sense actually. In the UK it seemed quite common for young girls to be brought from Nigeria to serve as househelps. They'd use the visitor visa category. I wasn't aware this could also be a problem in the US.

It will be expensive because you just got a license, no driving history etc... you should be able find a rate as low as $ 60 for liablity insurance. Try progressive

Yes just like you predicted before her interview. It's possible they would want to find out more about my aunt and her capability to take care of her. they asked a lot about her which we expected and my sister truthfully answered.

It's fine once they do the AP as fast as possible so we don't grow grey hairs. The application was done truthfully and we hope to get a good response.

A lot of Nigerians in ETSU, kai. I was at the library the other day and I heard, from strategic locations, people speaking pidgin in hush tones. I just dey dere, dey smile, shake head. It felt good though. And quite a number of them haven't been to Nairaland. I always thought Nairaland was the 'gateway' to securing an F1 visa. The ones that have, talked about LagosismyHome. Aunty you bi celeb here o lol. More power to your elbow, you too much. Good day, my people. grin

Good afternoon house, I went for Education USA session this morning. The counsellor was saying there are little or no funding for health, business and management course even with a good GRE and Tofel. That most of the scholarships are for STEM courses. Please, how reliable is this information? My area is manageent . Lagosismyhome@ and other guru in the house. I need your opinions. Thanks

My stop over at Casablanca lasts for 11hours... What do I do?

Are there any hotel preparations as witnessed in EgyptAir?

pls if I want to defer my admission after paying for SEVIS once, when am ready for the next academic session prolly FALL, will I have to pay for another admission fee and SEVIS too before getting a new I-20 before VISA interview

For the new guys, you dont need to wait till when you can afford a car to get a driving license. Its advisable to get your license as soon as possible so that, when you eventually get a car, your insurance bill is not neck cutting. In most cases, the older your license the lesser you pay for insurance. Mind you, some states wont give you a license unless you show prove of car insurance, in that case you can always get the restricted license which allows you to only drive rented cars, I believe that counts too when you eventually get a car and decide to change the reatricted license.Ultimately, Always ask questions from people around you who have gone through this stage you are , ignorance is not an excuse. Goodluck in the Semester

Sevis is valid for one year so if your next year interview is done before the anniversary date that you paid the SEVIS then you are good to go

For admission fee , I don't think so if its deferment but not 100% sure so check directly with the school on what their policy is
