Dialogue will not help matters
For every igbo that grew up in igboland,.this might be their experience too
as little kids we were meant to see massob members and people shouting biafra as miscreants, we were taught to believe in one nigeria
we held this belief until we came of age.
discrimination stared boldly at us
I was signing the NYSC book of life wen i noticed that most corpers there were born in that region and schooled in that state, something that is hardly seen in the south
I came to discover that the tune for 9 o clock news sounded like an hausa or fulani song
I came to discover that south has the least number of senators and House of reps members there
I came to discover that most of our soldiers are hausas
i came to discover that most of our leaders and politicians were of northern extraction
As an Igbo i found that i will never be the president of nigeria
During NYSC i found out that Hausa corpers were treated with respect while we were treated as rags
I might not support ipob and kanu because of their strategies
Outwardly am called a nigerian, but inside i know i am not just part of this country.
Almost all the major roads in the north are in good condition but i spend up to one hour from oyigbo to eleme
Change my mindset (which is ultimately very difficult) and i will drop biafra

God bless this writer! All these are in my thought and someone so vigilant pen it down.

My Brother, I am a Deltan and currently work in Aba. I am indifferent about the biafra/one Nigeria agitation. But I ask you, is Biafra the solution? Why do you Feel intimidated? If an Ibo man is made president today, will it change the situation of things in this country? Would the killings & bombings stop. Would roads (especially) in Aba become better? Would it stop the discrimination within ethnic groups in the country. What do you as an individual stand to benefit from Biafra/how will it improve your ways and the generations yet to come? We should ask ourselves these questions and many more. I tell you bro, the problem isn't Biafra neither is it 'Nigeria' (as agitators) may refer. The problem is me and you.

[quote author=paiz post=60022940]The major problem with the easterners is division among themselves.
If all Igbos can come together without hating each other they will make progress.

we hate ourselves like water and petrol I swear. u can't still imagine how this so called new country will look like. I am an igbo man and I will categorically say that we are bad and greedy set of people.

we should focus on restructuring this country to corp the level marginalisation of the south eastern people not looking for a reason to finish our selves up with greed.

One Nigeria!

those appointed in north, of what use are them to liberate the poverty in their community

or those in southwest and south south what have done with their little post to their community

diezani was minister of petroleum for atleast 4years, of what use is her to the community she came from?

when GEJ didn't give southwest much post, you won't see a Yoruba complain because we think deeply what the individual post will add to us

ekeweramadu is the deputy Senate president, what empowerment programme has he organise for the people of his constituency talkless of Enugu and igboland as a whole

am not supporting buhari but as the executive president he has the right to appoint anyone he feel he can do his work. forget federal character because true form of democracy is not what we are practicing in Nigeria

giving all Igbo all the post in Nigeria, has nothing to do with a common igboman, those people who rather enriched themselves and their families. we are only ranting on unnecessary things in Nigeria

Now someone who doesnt belong to that echelon that sold our rights have risen up, now give me one reason Igbos wont support him with their lives.
Moreover most of ur assertions are wrong, check wat blocked creation of another south east state. SENATE. of course how many Igbos are senators compared to Hausas.
And for that army matter if an Igbo man has one slot an hausa man has 20slots so tell me something else
.
Do you really expect a Zone that has 5 states to share the same slots with zones that have about 19 states?
Igbo is spoken mostly in 5 eastern states while you have Hausa spoken in almost all 19 northern states.
I am from Edo state but i have travelled alot.
Only the land mass of Brono state is bigger than the whole of south-east and you can get your facts.

When census was to be conducted, you guys short change yourselves by listening to mossob that you people should boycott it and many people in south-east did and you were under counted and will you blame the north for that?
And since the last census, have you achieve the Biafra.
You guys will still repeat the same mistake soon in Anambra and somebody in good books of those in Abuja will be install for Anambra people as governor and heaven will not fall because when the chips are down, most of this guys beating chest and making noise on social media will be no where to be found.

Biafra or no biafra hardly does any Igbo man feel home in nigeria. I have spent a lot of time in the north, they have constant light there, good roads even though they still live in poverty. Take a look at census which is also a determinant to allocations hausas marry up to 4 wives, scatter kids everywhere and the money from the south is used to cater for those kids.
Ask any hausa man, an hausa graduate has 90% chance of landing jobs immediately after service while a southerner will sweat and suffer before landing one.
this country is not one
For the yorubas dancing around, i had a yoruba friend arrested with an hausa guy in the north, the hausa guy has been released while the yoruba guy is still in jail.

u think this country is one? NO

Stop that Igbos as not united. No tribe has given a 95% vote to his own or others except Igbo.
No tribe in Nigeria has had 90% compliance to non-compulsional protest.
No unity, yet they keep helping each other in wealth creation.

Just leave these people, l'm tired of talking. When Jonathan ruled, we didn't hear so called cry of marginalization or non appointment of lgbos.
No complain then, but now it's marginalization. What they fail to understand is that no matter who is appointed, both the North and South are guilty of this tribalism when they come to power. Whatever situation we find ourselves today or so called Northern dominance is as a result of years of Northern military rule and we Southerners allowed it, even now.
Rather than criticize their Senators first and put pressure on them to call for a change they'll rather seek for meaningless secession. The Southern Senators should take up the fight for a modification of the constitution and abolishment of the Quota System.

Why may you never be president of Nigeria: bevause you ppl are lukewarm. You are neither there or here .

Why do northerner populate the army: because most dont fancy higher education.
They rather join force . Come on even you know Most igbos are bizmen.

Why are most leaders of northern extract: because the north has the population. Among the three major ethnic, Hausa is the largest.

The major roads in the north are easy to construct and maintain , and they last longer because the north is largely a desert. I cant say the same for the south

Northerners treat you like rag? Well , i spent 3 years in the north and i command more respect than most northerner because of what i can offer. I almost dated a Fulani girl but for fear of her uncorrigible dad.

South has least Senators? All senators are the same in all states. However , we need to balance our Reps or even scap them

There are only two types of ethnics in Nigeria presently regardless of the region, the political elites and the masses

I have never been a proponent / Apostle of hate speech but as events unfold in this Buhari's regime, I am ready and in support of anything. After looking at so many lopsided appointments and infrastructural imbalances in the country, I have made up my mind to join voices in calling for the disintegration of this country. Almost all the Service Chiefs in this administration are Northerners, Heads of Public Corporations are all northerners, 90% of most recruitment these days are given to northerners. Let the worst happen if the can't stop this nonsense.
I am down here and can't conclude how appointments are structured, i can't equally stop you towards changing ur mindset, but i think u have to consider that not all Northerners are happy with how things move on in this country. The Igbos are crying marginalization, we Christians from the north are also crying marginalization. 70% of appointments from north or within the northern states are granted to Non-christians. Believe me, we are all in this, but its not all about the aggitations and the hate speeches, its not all about division and hatred for the benefitting side. Do the rightful things, do not elect greedy and selfish leaders, do not elect someone who does not support his territorial progress and livelihood, do not let money mongers represent and sell ur development.Northerners always support themselves at the National level irrespective of their states or ethnicity, marginalization between them mainly comes from religious difference at state levels. I was a victim of Boko Haram, a sect that advocated no western education but ended up burning our churches and killing our people while invading towns and LGAs. Today Boko Haram kills both Muslims and Christians, infact Muslims are the most hit human victims, while Christians suffer colateral damages. Every beginning must have an end, but what makes a happy ending is PEACE AND HARMONY. God bless you.

Show me one ethnic group that is more united than Igbo in this country. Don't just be repeating worn clitches. Igbo have demonstrated their unquestionable unity through the sit at home. No, other group can demonstrate such level of unanimity. Even in the north, Igbo have a unifying organization .Some people might have opened this post hoping to see this group condemning and disassociating themselves from Kanu as many northerners have demanded. NEWSBiafra: Igbo Assembly tells Buhari what to do to Nnamdi KanuPublished on September 1, 2017 By Ameh Comrade Godwin

Igbo Delegates Assembly (IDA), an umbrella body of Igbos in the 19 northern states and Abuja, has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to dialogue with the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, and leaders of other agitating groups.

The assembly, rising from a three-day meeting in Abuja, urged the government to shelve the idea of revoking Kanu’s bail.

A communiqué signed at the end of the meeting by Chi Nwogu and ‎Austine Ifedinezi, president general and secretary of the assembly, respectively, urged the federal government to take urgent steps to put Nigeria “on a path of peaceful co-existence, through equitable distribution of patronage and infrastructural development.”

IDA argued that the recent outburst in favour of the establishment of the state of Biafra was simply a response to the socio-economic imbalances in Nigeria which, they added, would give way once the imbalances are genuinely addressed.

The group added that “together as a people and persuade the federal government to put in place a framework for equitable existence in the Nigerian project.

“This should be done through the convocation of a sovereign conference, of the component ethnic nationalities, or an adoption of the reports of the 2014 National Conference.”

On the withdrawal of the October 1, 2017 quit notice on Igbo in the North by Arewa youths, the assembly saluted prominent northerners who worked for peace as well as the courage of the Coalition in backing down.

“It is on this note that we appeal to security agencies to be on guard throughout the period to prevent any breakdown of law and order in any part of Nigeria, especially in the north,” it said.
