Hello House,

Please pardon my inquisitiveness, I always search for the questions I want to ask thoroughly before posting it. Please my DW and I need a bit of help and clarifications on somethings concerning our intending trip to have our bundle of joy in the USA for the first time. We are first timers and I must say the whole process is a bit overwhelming but i'll try not to bore you lovely people with much details. Below are some of our concerns:

1. DW and I do not have anyone in the USA and this is her first time traveling, would the VO think its better I go with her? could they reject her on grounds that shes pregnant and would be needing assistance and shes going alone? I have also decided to book a hotel accommodation for her for the period of 92 days of her stay, is this advisable? I chose not to apply with her in order to be her strong home ties to return to her husband, is this a valid premise?

2. I intend to deposit a lump sum amount to cover all that my DW would be needing in the USA as summarized in our budget sheet. Would she be asked to prove the origin of the money? The money would actually be coming from 3 different sources: Myself, My Company and My Dad. Is this a good approach or should we just present one person as the sponsor?

3. Finally, my DW is currently employed as an intern and her contract will be expiring before her interview, I hope to give her employment in my company and an immediate maternity leave with resumption immediately after birth. Is this acceptable as a valid body of proof for her return based on B2 Medical visa?

Please family, anyone who has answers to these our questions please help us, you'd be ''Saving a life'' smiley

with love
Our little daughter kiss

I will give a very recent experience. My in law, who doesn't work but has kids and was solely sponsored by hubby who has a good job with an American company here was granted her visa.

It was dicy at first. Filled the form with the husband as the sole sponsor (B/2 Medical Visa by the way). So armed with hotel booking, doctors correspondence, budget sheet, lady's bank account with evidence that the cost of the trip was transferred to he account, her hubby's bank statement showing he can afford to sponsor, and letter of introduction from the American Company stating the whole purpose of trip and even address of doctor for the whole waka (thanks to this forum for all the information).

So Interview date came Aug 21, after plenty questions was asked to bring the hubby for an interview. Mind you he was to stay back and help with the kids, his passport is even expired! So 3 days after hubby attended 2nd interview with his wife (note the VO stated on the white paper given her she didn't need to rebook appointment but must come within 1 month) With much apprehension, the new VO they saw asked abt the hubby's past travel history to America. the kind of trainings he had and all. Long story short, the VO advised the hubby applies for a new visa and go help the wife (wondering how that is their business) and advising her to stay 3 months as against the 2 months she stated in the form (don't knw how that concerns them too)

Morale of the story, have a clear honest plan, be confident, prepared and most importantly, PRAY for favour.

Hope this helps!

ote author=JMarines post=60025475]Hello Nairaland family,
I was delivered of a beautiful baby boy exactly one month ago.
I thank God for everything
As a first time mom, it hasn't been easy posting updates as I've had to nurse every now and then.
I need an advice on VOA.
Due to the hurricane, my Son's passport was delayed for a week and is due for delivery today. We are slated to travel on the 4th of September and I don't know how to get prompt response from the Nigerian immigration(Sent a mail to them on Tiesday about VOA for my son, explaining my challenges but got no response). The airline provided a reservation for him based on consideration(Hurricane Harvey).
Please I need your responses.
I will be so grateful.
God bless.
@All, thank you.
Sorry I've been away.

Okay
CBP: Hi, Good Afternoon.
Wifey: Good Afternoon.
CBP: Can I have you passport please and what do you want to do in the US.
Wifey: (gave her the passport) I'm here for delivery of my baby and would be in for 12weeks.
CBP: Why the US and not in Nigeria?
Wifey: The mortality rate in Nigeria is high,I had my first child here and the service was fantastic. However, my husband is able to afford the cost.
CBP: That's a lie, the hospitals in Nigeria are good. You are just here for our passport.
Wifey: No, the passport is not the reason but the service.
CBP: How much do you have with you?
Wifey: $6,000 (brought out the cash for CBP to count), i have other fund in my bank card and i'm also with my husband bank card (shows CBP the card.
CBP: No you don't have to give me the cash. Keep it. Well, I'm sorry I can see any reason to permit you into the US. Go to that office someone will attend to you and book your return flight to NIgeria. Thank you.

My wife left to the office she was directed to, before getting to the door the CBP officer called her back that she left her passport on her desk. As my wife collected her passport and that of my daughter, the CBP officer said proceed to the agriculture food declaration section. When she opened the passport it was stamped 6 months stay.

Omg! My heart nearly jumped in my mouth! That CBP is something else. Lol. I'm glad it ended well. Congratulations!

I was 26 weeks gone and nothing was asked.
I only signed a form from lagos to Casablanca which states that I am responsible for flying while pregnant .
I hope this help.
MissG post=60041718]Hello All,

Has anyone flown Air moroc recently? How many weeks pregnant were you, did you show a fit to fly letter or just the port health certificate.

Did you sign a disclaimer at the MMA and did you show any of the above in Casablanca be before boarding.

Your urgent response will be highly appreciated.

Thank you
Thanks a lot.

lol. That's what I call a shake down aka "chalo". I guess he was irritated by the health care excuse which he definitely knows isn't true.

I wonder the smartest way of responding to that question. Can someone just blurt out "oh I want my child to be a citizen of the US and have the benefit of choice".

Thanks a lot. Hope mama and child are keeping well.

lol. Is this your first bill from CHOA? My wife just delivered earlier in the month and CHOA sent us 5hundred plus, though we negotiated to 3 hundred plus if we pay within 30 days.
As per Emory, was it after you got your zero balance that they sent these new ones again? Make Emory give themselves brain o

Lol at your Ijebu plans. ...I am due late march 2018 my sis early April 2017. She had her baby at oakbend last year and we plan using oakbend. I already got correspondence from Dr F.
Any info you get with regards to this waka pls keep me posted. By d way na my first missionary waka.

Thanks

[ author=debby516 post=59974034]Soo I ve another impending missionary journey in 2018 cheesy.

I am trying to be experimental and try out some other cities - LA/Dr. M in mind. Still working on it, just want to be sure of all costs inclusive.

Had Atl in mind, but i realised dat it maybe more expensive than my last year journey.

Also checked out Chicago, but fear won't allow me, plus flying in thru another POE and doing local flights back and forth won't also help my ijebu plans.

Today, someone mentioned Longview, and I immediately went on research, called them and already have their email sef, still nt cost effective for me jare.

On the long run, if LA doesn't come cheaper than my Houston waka, I am sticking to Dr. Z/Oakland jejely, a familiar terrain by d way.

So I ve and will be 'pming' some of you. Pls indulge me abeg, not like I am not doing my own research but some one on one experience could be helpful.

Gracias cheesy grin
Beauty pls i need to know who has the cheapest obstetricians fee at Oakbend and the email address of the doctor. Pls help a sister

@Mmasomma and damkage, if you can't get affordable airbnb homes close to the hospital. Try using InTown suites - I45 North (ZHN) Extended Stay. It is minutes away from the Hospital.
