mrszez:The solution to a lie is the truth. Abi is it not? Fill the correct details and my take is always to draw the attention of the vo to it by yourself. Don't wait for him to sight it. He may or may not. He may and even decide to ignore. But when u bring it up you are sure it's going into the interview notes. Whether u get it or not this time you have done the right thing 2 Likes |

aremso:I said it before. I'll say it again. If the issue was misrepresentation , acquiring travel history does not solve it. I do not understand the transcript. Did u guys misrepresent or not. A simple yes or no would do |

LadyGuinivere: there was nothing like misrepresentation cos she was no pregnant as at the time we went to the embassy |

cosade:Then you're not in the position to tell him they won't give him instead encourage him. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by cosade(m): 10:32am On Sep 04, 2017 |
seyewest: I am not a VO so I couldn't have told him/her (or anyone for that matter) that he/she will not be granted visa. The person specifically asked if he/she should apply for US visit visa, and I responded he/she should not waste 64k. He/She wanted an honest opinion that is why he/she came to a public forum to ask the question. As a Rotarian, I am guided by the 4Way Test in all that I do. 1. Is it the Truth? 2. Is it fair to all concerned? 3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships? and 4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned? I would have violated all the tests above, if I had encouraged him/her to apply when I knew he/she didn't have strong ties, a position logically inferenced from three denials for a U.K visitor' visa. 2 Likes |

If I can be allowed to wade into this argument. The British have a different way of assessing visa applications in that they rely on documents. Whereas the Americans basically rely on the US 160 and body language. People have been denied UK visas but given US visas. My friends are perfect examples. Reason being that a particular bank lodgment seemed suspicious. They crossed over and applied for the US visa a week or 2 after and got it. Married couple with an adopted kid and no travel history, traveling without the kid. What's my point? What cooks the egg in the UK may not cook it in the US. That said, no applicant should depend on sentiments. Every applicant should objectively self assess. I see a lot of people here unwilling to tell themselves the truth and unable to swallow the bitter pill. That's what makes a Lotta folks "package " and then get upset that their documents weren't looked at. So the OP is not asking the right question. He should rather ask himself: why did the UK deny me? Are the grounds reasonable? Can those grounds be considered by the US as valid grounds for refusal? Do I have reasonable ties? These are questions that only he can answer after extensive research/ reading this thread 3 Likes |

LadyGuinivere: Madam, we are on the same page. I once expressed sentiments for UK approach here. My response was to a specific question and not generalised. cosade: My opinion (I may be wrong) is that it would be easier for someone with a steady job and reasonable income to get U.K visitor's visa than this same person getting US visit visa if he's not able to articulate his travel plan well before the VO in a minute or two. Some people are just crowd shy. 2 Likes |

cosade:Cosade, let's not be so quick to judge or conclude, as we not VOs and the mind these people operate is very different and shocking... Several denials in one country does not mean another won't grant it, every country to its own policy.. It may interest you to know that the VO will even be impressed that the OP brought the same passport with denial stamps and yet get approved, hence his/her ties is strong Let's not Also forget that is God that grants visas and not man, many with travel experience has been refused and many with Virgin passport had been approved God is the giver 1 Like |

vanbaby:Madam. What will the agent do for you? Please I humbly ask for a reply. Clearly u are yet to understand the concept of "ties" or maybe you do and that's why u want to use an agent to " create " one. If USA denied you, there are so many other countries. Have u visited any? Try that first with your true details. Show the US u can be trusted with a visa 2 Likes 1 Share |

LadyGuinivere: I have visited U.K and Dubai.the usa refusal doesn't say the reason why you are rejected I am assuming it is because I am not married. I presume an agent will help scrutinize thoroughly your and tell me how to get a better chance |

TWoods:Twoods, with all due respect, this is what I call destructive criticism... The person asking this question is obviously uninformed, the best you could do is advice and not assuring him /her of a denial, when you are not even God to start with.. I don't know how some folks are so so quick to destroy people with their mouth 2 Likes |

A friend with valid UK visa 5 years and expired UK visas, expired Schengen visas full of three Nigerian passports with one old Nigerian passport. Married with kids, account balance of over 12 million naira. Dubai stamps and china. Just received passport letter from Canadian high commission to submit his passport for visa. This is the same person that was refused US visa twice shortly before applying to Canada. . I don't understand these North american people at all. Whats wrong with them? LadyGuinivere what do you think Canada consider in his application, cos i he was even expecting a straight refusal, he just decided to give it a try |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Sebastine1606(m): 5:50pm On Sep 04, 2017 |
LadyGuinivere:What am saying is she doesn't need to patronize any agent to tell her the ties she needs, she can Google or read thru past threads |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 5:59pm On Sep 04, 2017 |
dotcomnamename:That's exactly what I'm saying. Different strokes for different countries. UK and CA look at documents objectively. US assumes every document is a forgery ( I don't blame them) I have no idea why the guy was refused the first time. Cos I'm my opinion that's where the root of the problem usually lies. I also know if folks that were denied unfairly and they reapplied and presented a strong case and got. We also had someone like that here -100dollarbill. With all the flenty travel history and sereree them bounce am. E reapply come get. In my own case I believe the embassy was right to refuse Me the first time I applied cos i clearly had no idea how the system worked. One could look nervous and be wrongly profiled a flight risk. 4 Likes |
