mickee2u: Your post really did hit me hard. I cannot offer any insight to you, really. I was invited for the on-demand video kini something, on the 19th but didn't submit till 00:04 hours on deadline day 22nd. I received an invite for the business games, 4pm, that day. With such things, maybe could be providence, but I am truly sorry they have kept you in limbo. I don't know how the algorithm works, as some people had business game invite prior to doing the virtual interview. Don't lose hope...but pursue other opportunities whilst at it. Cheers. |

Postulates: Yeah i know it happens Bro, it's just one disappointment (that's if it's even a disappointment at all). Im certified in Microbiology and Brewing, and i really dreamt day and night of Ab Inbev since i got wind of the GMT opportunity. If nothing happens, if i still don't receive a reply, life just has to move on. But to give up hope? What would i still be doing on earth without hope? I wish you guys the best. 10 Likes |

This, I think, seals all arguments. I don't think they are coming back.

I am also very hopeful that I will be invited but my advise for others is to channel their energy more on other things while expecting an invite. The other side of the story might be they've held business games in other countries prior to coming down to Nigeria hence the "another" used in their caption. oyinD1: |

Hi everyone. The Business games have been done in Nigeria exclusively at the moment and will move on to tanzania then ghana then SA. The games will not be returning to Nigeria for logistical reasons. Those that wish may apply for the rest of the graduate programs. |

Sofosbuvir: LOL... that's just living a delusional life though. But alas. I guess if you want something badly enough your mind will rationalise even the most dire or DESPERATE of situations to favour your own outcome. Okay cool. The games will totally come back then. *as they wait 5 years for the games * It makes sense though..which company would travel to a place twice. Waste of cash. Even in movies if you're in a location you shoot all scenes related to that specific location. These people have other work to do y'all. The gmt might be everything to you but it's just another task on a checklist for the recruiters. They take it seriously but they won't waste money going back to Nigeria. Companies only send regret mails once they have hired to make it in batch or just in case one drops out or dies. Anyway....if you want to believe that the will come back to Nigeria...go ahead...it's YOUR sanity after all. Games consist of groups of gmt potentials which everyone having senior management roles and decisions have to be made. Glassdoor has some great reviews. Just type in gmt. What a post 5 Likes |

MphoT:You sound so pained!!! I wonder why. It's funny you think FUNDS is actually the problem here but guess what, that's the LEAST of their concern dear. 64 candidates attended the business games but I'm sure you're aware there's a possibility no one will be chosen as long as they do not meet their requirements. My point is , they aren't considering the amount spent to host 64 candidates in such a luxurious hotel so apparently, the worlds leading brewing company ain't penurious. Talking about their return to Nigeria or not, last I checked, it goes from sept-oct-nov and not sept-nov AND until October comes and goes, we won't "draw the line ".. We all pray Oct meets us in good health and PERFECT SANITY. From Me To You - Please stop getting worried on our behalf, it's our business games not yours. You SHOULD channel your energy into preparing and praying to be qualified for the next stage as chances are quite slim rather than telling grown ups what to do THEIR TIME, we're not infants!! No one is so dumb to sit doing absolutely nothing but waiting , we all had daily activities before AB-inbev surfaced, helloooooo. It's disgusting to see most of y'all trying SO hard to convince us that there wouldn't be another BG when NONE is even at the finish line yet. I still don't understand why MOST of those who attended the BG are wishing and hoping from the bottom of their hearts that there wouldn't be another ,please will your successes be affected?? Kindly concentrate on what concerns you while we concentrate on what concerns US because frankly speaking, "another" business game is totally not your business ..like enough of the research from glassdoor and bla bla bla. #mindyourbusinessandbusinesses #wishotherswell #Life #goodheart 9 Likes 1 Share |

Graysmooth: Where would he get the presentation from? You don't figure there's a reason why you won't see shit about it even searching the deepest part of the web?. I mean people that were even in the second batch met and asked those in the first and nobody said pim and they were no hard feelings. Since you're insisting they'll come back why should he now 'forward' something he doesn't have to give you an advantage over Him? Go out there and sweat it out and if really you're up to it you'll get it.. 3 Likes |

But on a lighter note again... are we going to be working with these guys that ain't team players... you guys want to use pessimism to kill the optimism of others... if Ab Inbev goes through this thread, I am sure they will be disappointed... Anyway, I believe another business game will happen... I am in my house come and beat me 3 Likes |

1. Those who went for the business games are not hoping that another GMT doesn't happen. At least, I hope not. They know it won't happen because AB Inbev people said so. As a matter of fact, one of the HR persons said, another GMT might not even happen in 2 year's time. And those people keep their words! But who knows, things might change..It's very unlikely though. 2. It's not about being selfish. That's just how it is. I'd be surprised to find anyone here coming to share their experience (except being pressured to do so). It's just something you have to experience yourself, really. It's not difficult, it was fun and you were even advised to be yourself. Well, I personally have no issues sharing with anyone, it's just not necessary. You have been told the process, presentation, group work. That's all there is to know, really. You just have to go there and do your thing! And I think, I think, the fun is in not knowing what to expect. 3. To the best of my knowledge, when we all did the questionnaire, logical reasoning test and on-demand interview, nobody gave specific details of their experience. All you get was: For the questionnaire, you have to align with company values and what they are looking for and also do it before the time. Use the job description." In my opinion, that's not specific enough, that's just a guide. I remember someone using job description and still didn't pass the questionnaire in over 3 attempts. For the logical reasoning test, you get something like: "It was quite easy for me, I just had to be fast, but those shapes mehn...I'm just praying sha." That's also not specific, it's really vague and just a guide. For the on-demand video, you get something like: "I just assumed my Interviewers were smiling at me and that helped" or "Try to think hard about your experiences and structure your answer". That's really not specific,it's just a guide. For the Business Games, you should get something like "There was first a presentation on the case study sent to our mails, then we had the business games after being divided into 4 groups. The key thing here is to be confident and work with your team members. Basically, be yourself." And funny thing is, you most likely already knew that you need to be confident and work with team members. If you didn't, you're welcome. Getting a good job in Nigeria can be very demanding and frustrating, hence the tension is understandable. I pray that God will surprise us all in ways we do not expect. Amen. It's not about being selfish. That's just how it is. 9 Likes |

Graysmooth:Their selfish conclusion baffles me. What they failed to notice is the fact that the application link for GMT was accessible till 31st August. Was this a mistake from the company? Can International Organisation like ABinBev make such mistake? So, if they aren't planning to organise another business game then why did they allow application to reach August 31st when business game is same day? Also, if Rene can confirm that there will be another business game then who is a common applicant to bamboozle us here with a fake analysis that there won't be any other business game? Very funny people. These are the same people who misled others that the on-demand video cannot be uploaded via mobile data when I actually uploaded mine with mobile data. Can't they just shut up if they don't know something? You cannot turn yourself to HR and shut the doors at others simply because you have done your business game. Just shut up and wait for your result. Bad belle folks 2 Likes |

It's saddening that you guys are keeping something as exciting as a business game to yourself and trying to quench the little fire that peeps are trying to kindle. I have lost out on opportunities that align more strongly to my career goals(when compared to AB) and I'm still alive. It's safe to say that the same thing applies for a lot of people on here. The unanswered question has been and still is how did your business game go? A lot of people would like to know what your strategy was, how you worked under pressure, how stubborn were your team mates, how did you handle such people, how did you handle the pressure, did you have problems understanding the assessors because of their accent. Nobody, has been able to answer this. Nobody has been able to even talk about the food and how cozy the hotel was . Yet you spend time discussing about how impossible it is for another Business game to occur. One even went through the 'stress' of posting something off glass door, like glassdoor requires missile codes and signatures from Pentagon to access it. On the brighter side, I'm glad I don't get to work with you people. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I have been following comments since after the business games. There is no point attacking each other. The plain truth is; if you all know the kind of anxiety that those who did their business games are going through then you all will pity them. That anxiety alone won't even allow someone to be concise enough to give explanations. I know most people wouldn't understand, but the truth is, that business games really opened people's eyes to the reality of the magnitude of opportunity that AB Inbev is offering and the mere thought that you are one step away from failure or success can be sickening. Let's just have a little patience since the anticipated business games isn't around the corner. I am very positive that once the ones who have done theirs get a feedback, then they can be in the best position to give details. The anxiety is too much and trust me, the competition isn't about those who have done theirs and those still yet to, it's basically between the 64 participants who have done theirs. And I would be of the opinion that even if information about the games was to be passed around, it shouldn't be on this forum, because it will paint Nigerian applicants in a bad light. I say this because when you go through the Internet, you will discover that many people in other countries have done the same but you can hardly find any specific information, they are all sketchy. We should device a way of passing around vital information. Some of the assessors are Nigerians and Nairaland isn't a hard place to find. The organizers collected the business games materials after the whole exercise, which practically means that they want the process to be a secret. I rest my case. 1 Like |

mcpat: I believe I took out time to explain my experience of the business games and even went further to state that a successful candidate's experience in 2015 or so, was similar to mine and the other 63 people. It is certain you didn't get the point of posting a glassdoor remark; as this was to further reiterate that the business games format, is still the same. Also, as people are really reluctant to release information, you could bank on the information there, which is applicable to Nigeria's BG type. Again, if you missed my previous post, I stated that you had to alter two or three parameters to improve profitability, i-social and market share. It was only a competition between teams and not competition between team members within their respective groups. Simple strategy was to study the trend and do some price sensitivity or elasticity evaluation, drawing up correlation dynamics between different parameters and finding an equilibrium point. Strongest team members were moved around. Food was great, buffet meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner. Hotel room was comfy, the hotel bar had good beer variety. Our assessors even covered a two-hour drinking session for us, at the end. 4 Likes 1 Share |
