chyima:I equally use Stanbic. I had the option of moving the funds to Stanbic but decided against it as the difference is not much. Stanbic is my main bank. I opened the GTB account for a purpose and when the amount was substantial, i decided to use it for TB with them while i still continue the purpose. |

I invested 3m in treasury bills for 182 days at 17%. The maturity date is Nov 4th. What is the procedure for termination? How much will be deducted from the said capital? Urgent reply. |

| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by RealityShot: 12:20pm On Sep 06, 2017 |
pafra:no money is "deducted" from your Capital. the deduction is done on your Interest earned so far. you have earned about 200k after 5 months.. If you terminate now, you will be charged ~5% on that 200k gained. So 3m - 10k = 2.99m will be returned to you. Therefore you still make ~190k overall. NO CAPITAL LOSS FOR TERMINATION: go back to the officer who did the TBills for you and tell him you want to terminate. |

Gavrelino123:18%......And considering the amount am investing I tend to gain 100k if I am successful at the primary market?? |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Houstency(m): 7:35pm On Sep 06, 2017 |
pafra:Simply write a letter to your bank's branch manager, titled termination of NTbills , and if you're around for quick replies, you would be shown available rates and you have the final say. But most times you would get less than the amount you invested, since your interest have been paid to you upfront. |

emmanuelewumi:How does investment in gold work? |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by katamo: 9:09pm On Sep 06, 2017 |
freeman67:You don't have to buy the actual gold. You can buy an index fund or exchange traded fund that will move the same way as gold prices. |

Hello GT customers, please don't panic about your investment not showing on your internet banking platform, it's the least of things that should worry you. It's a system glitch and you will wàke up one day to see it again. Am sure you would have received an electronic debit àlert and possibly investment statement. One thing you should ensure is to get your investment certificate always done on their letter head. I am a gtb customer for 13yrs and deal in TB with them since some years now so I have experienced several including this one. However, I stopped dealing in TB with them because they started playing games. Example, in the last auction they offered 364days to investors at 18.1% as mentioned here while stanbic offered 18.28% thereabout. That's a big gap, it appears they are making some spread on investors fund because I do not see reason why they would bid this low at 18.1% when the last marginal rate from upper week's bid was about 18.5%. Good observation NL, this is also part of the post I just shared now. Those guys are playing a terrible game there. I am still looking for that CBN regulation that allows banks or any agency to make spread on investors capital apart from those known statutory fees for TB. chyima: |

| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by freeman67: 7:23am On Sep 07, 2017 |
Kevostica:In primary market you buy directly from CBN while in secondary market you buyer from those that bought before and want to sell. In banks like FBN you can roll over your investment if done in the primary market but that of secondary market will drop in you account immediately it matures... I hope this helps. |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Kevostica(m): 7:42am On Sep 07, 2017 |
freeman67:Thank you for this explanation. primary and secondary market do they attract the same rate of return? |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by question(m): 7:52am On Sep 07, 2017 |
walexlo78:Good to know that you escaped GTbank wayo. Though it wont harm their customers to that much, but they could be making 0.18% minimum for there entire tbills Secondary market base. Thats why they encourage Secondary market. |
