Mention the Hausa/Fulani states that dominated the NASS... ..

To an average Southern illiterate, all Northerners are Hausa/Fulani

kindly give me the definition of an illiterate in just one sentence

failure to do so will portray you as a dumb

Referendum might be alien to the Nigerian constitution but it is not alien to Nigeria

Referendum has been conducted twice in Nigeria

when? and under whose government?

Na today? After your ijaw bro don front for the stupid aggressors to promote anarchy which has failed, it is good for u mr Clark to hav given voice to knock some sense into those mercenaries using d brain of d poor and gullible masses to trade.
...referandum is for d sane minds, not for savages or anarchists to hijack to inflame a peaceful nation undecided
Until my igbo bros learn civility...,until sanity and order returns to the easterners' heads as a norm, no referandum for now. kalukalu or kanu whatever u call yasef go and ask Scotland how they did their referandum in U.K since u are a dumbhead drop out who doesn't knw his left Fr his right. Your stupidity is ratio one(u alone) against millions.

Referendum was conducted in 1961 to allow the British Cameroons, who were too small to be a country, to decide what they wanted. North British Cameroons voted to be part of Nigeria while the South voted to join Republic of Cameroon.

In 1963, there was another referendum where a disputed part of the Western Region who were not Yoruba decided they wanted their own separate Region. Over 80% voted to be separated from the Western Region and the new Region became known as the Midwest Region. After the war, this Midwest Region was called Bendel state and in the early 90's, it was further divided into Edo and Delta state.

Referendum is not new to Nigeria.

Mr old man stop misleading yourself, believing buhari's govt will give you Referendum.

This nation is an unholy marriage that can never last. It might be kanu today, believe it or not tomorrow another tribe will come up again demanding for the same thing.

Imagine a nation where culture and history are not transfered to the young once and that makes you a people without identity.

This nation has failed and should be deleted.

How can civil disobedience lead to war?

Are you sure you know what civil disobedience means?

My point exactly. Not under the 1999 constitution. As far as the 1999 constitution as amended is concerned, the word referendum, though laudable, is a dead end

Restructuring is also not in the 1999 constitution, so why do you think some people clamour for it?

The constitution is not greater than the people, if the government and the political class of Nigeria decide that a referendum should be held, it will be.

And who says government cares about the clamour? As long as the National Assembly do not accommodate referendum via constitutional amendment restructuring and other agitation will be a futile effort a waste of energy.
And who are the people? IPOB? Joke of the century! You guys should better find better ways to dissipate your energy.

The agitators are not going to stop. They have lost all faith and confidence in Nigeria. So if Nigeria, the national assembly, the political class do not agree to a referendum, then their will be no peace. Nigeria will then have to choose to keep shooting agitators down, arresting them, cracking down on them like a dictatorship and proving ti the world that it is a failed state.

In any situation where there is no peace, there is likely to be no progress either
