P.S: Mikel is still World class... and that's no exaggeration. Ntooorrrrr.... cheesy

Joebie:
Sir this Mikel matter people almost called me a Mikel hater just because I don't hold him highly as they. Facts and stats are not debatable. When we start to debate and we start to say if this if that then it throws away all logic. The truth is Mikel is our best midfielder. The most versatile and experienced who has played at the highest level than the others. And that's a fact. But what I don't like is exaggerations. I won't go into another Mikel argument.

I know he is the best we have and I acknowledge it but the point is he has his limits.

See the relationship here ooo

Mikel(a DMF that has been playing recently as a Cb for his lowly side in the Chinese league) will skin Busquets(the number one Dmf in Barcelona and Spain, arguably the best DMF in the world at large), it's only in Nigeria that people believe this kind of story honestly. Mikel is a class act, against Busquets he will more than hold his own, but saying he will skin...rephrase he will totally outplay Busquets is rubbish

If he does not perform then kick him out of the team. Chikena!

Some raised eyebrows here when Aaron Samuel was invited.

Aaron Samuel want not supposed to have been called in the first place when players like Kayode and Martins were doing well.

If you do well you must be called to the national team and it's not enough to use the training to rate and discard a player because we have heard about players who don't do well in training but performed wonderfully well in main matches.

Besides, we the fans want to access the players with our two Koro Koro eyes before conclusion and judgement are formed based on what is seen because I don't trust our coaches. GBAM! grin

I am never a fan of Shehu Abdullahi and Ezenwa. You can ask anyone here.

I have never for once agreed to any school of thought that suggests or suggested that Onazi should be kicked out. Ask.

Which kind bad belle chance Keshi gave Martins?

Martins Obafemi was played in wrong positions or given small time.

If Martins Obafemi continues to score for his Chinko club, he should be given a chance under Rohr.

If Rohr sticked to his 'we have a complete team' and didn't invite Ighalo for the match against Cameroon, we for chop am. grin
We barely have a year to the mundial, any coach that doesn't already have 75% of his team has no business in the world Cup. Our main focus now should be team blending and cohesiveness. The areas we need reinforcements are just few. The LB position, A creative midfielder and a winger. I don't think there is anything Martins can bring to the table that Iheanacho, ighalo, kayode, (in all likelihood, these are the three point men we're going to the world Cup with) can't bring.

I'd rather we spend that time trying to get tammy Abraham. If not, a LB, a creative midfielder, a winger(if bazee comes good he'll be a great addition), with 1-2 months extensive training camp and quality friendly games, then we'll be ready for the world Cup.

ok, watch that goal that Torres scored and tell me it has anything to do with the DMF. Watch the one Ramires scored and tell me the Dmf had any business there. The Dmf stops attacks coming from the midfield but the DMF can be bypassed by long balls which Chelsea implemented.

Wait sef it's not as if Chelsea schooled Barca. They almost always won on away goals rule and that apari even defeated Chelsea en route the treble in 2008 so I don't get your point
you said chelsea won them on away goals rule and i'll also like to remind you that in 2008 too it was on same rule but laced with controversies

Finally... another who is speaking my Language.... cheesy

This is what we should be addressing and not Mikel's class Abi na Busicat talks.... looollll

The Super Eagles need a LB upgrade.... and another Central Attacking Midfielder (Mikel's backup).

The issue of Winger is not so pressing... we have options and Noah Bazee is already in the fold. Only Injuries have prevented his integration into the team. We still have Wing forwards like Onyekuru in the picture too... so the wings is not a problem really. It is about who will be our other sure wing starter (unless we settle for Simon Moses).

And about Tammy... well said... we should get him soon. Then with time... we can see how we can lure Solanke also... but Dessers is also in the picture. But Tammy is a priority for now shaa... as a quality player to provide more depth in our Striking dept... I hope we get him soon enough.

In all, I strongly believe and infact know that Rohr has about 77% - 80% of the team he will be fielding in representation of our nation in Russia ("when" we qualify... no disrespect to Zambia). The other 20%-23%? we will find out soon enough... going forward.

This has always been my point, we don't really have much time on our hands for newcomers.

I mentioned a winger for flexibility of tactics. Moses doesn't deliver crosses often and Simon isn't an accurate crosser. There might be times when we come against stubborn defenders who won't let you go anywhere near the 18yard box, defenders that have only one disadvantage, HEIGHT. In such cases, the coach might decide to bring in a good crosser of the ball so we can exploit our opponent's weakness.

Okay... very well said. Now I get you.

Well... that is where we will now focus our radar on the likes of Noah Sarenren Bazee, Samuel Kalu and maybe "some unknown darkhorse" (who can be anyone i am missing right now) who can actually cross the ball in typical winger style.... Anyway... the moulding continues...

P.S: Samuel Adegbenro of Rosenborg did come to my mind but he is more of a power playing Left Winger/wing forward who cuts inside often... crossing is not a regular feature of his game from the little I have seen of him. But hey he has a full season so I could get to observe him much closely.

Henrg Onyekuru also does less crossing... he is typical skillful and goals-hungry Wing forward/winger..

We lost because of the team but the fact is that Mikel had an impressive showing in the midfield against Spain. In 1998 we lost to Denmark 4:0 yet Okocha stood out so much so that his value went up and he was the most expensive African player when PSG bought him. My point is a team might be woeful on a particular day yet a player will distinguish himself.

Super Eagles Defender Aina Rated Highly In English Championship
By James Agberebi

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has been rated as the player with the highest number of possession won in his defensive area in the English Championship so far this season.

This was confirmed by football facts and statistics website whoscored.com on their verified Twitter handle.

“Ola Aina: Has won possession in the defensive third more times (34) than any other player in the Championship this season,” whoscored tweeted.

Since joining Hull City on loan from Chelsea during the summer transfer window, 20-year-old Aina has been ever present for the 2014 FA Cup losing finalists.

He has made five league appearances since making the loan mmove to Hull who are currently eight on seven points in the 24-team Championship table.

He was in the Eagles squad that got four points off Cameroon
on matchday three and four of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier but did not play.

The former England junior international was cleared by FIFA after the first leg in Uyo to switch his allegiance from England to Nigeria.

You should understand the applause for Mikel stems from the fact that while Spain with Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets were loaded in the middle, the SE on the other hand were lean in that sector. Mikel was like the guy from a poor family who goes on to make it big while Busquets is like the scion of a rich family just doing his thing. Widows mite
