chukzyfcbb:
using 18% as an example
u will get #200naira each month.

if the rates remain at 18% for October, 200naira will be added again
Thank's . that's nonsense .

It might seem like nonsense to you, but I like the fact that my capital is preserved.
The rates are better than leaving my money in a savings account. So I use money market fund to save.

Not nonsense, i make abt 23k per month from SIMMF and still have my capital intact. It's a good way to save money and also get something extra monthly.

just cash not in use for now.
Re: Mutual Funds by afroxyz: 9:41pm On Sep 10, 2017
chukzyfcbb:
of course it will
400-500k monthly for a year amounts to
4.8-6m per annum.

with the rates hovering at about 18%
35million should yield 6.3 million Gross!

That's still enough to meet up with his standard of living. However it's best u invest that sun in Tbills where you can lock in on the 18%. With money market fund, the rates could drop further affecting the yield from 6.3 to a lower sum.

Nevertheless, I don't suggest he quits the job
How can someone have N35m and he still wants to work for someone

What do you think he could do assuming he is not an enterpreneur?

Please share your ideas; we are all here to learn from each other.

You will get there. There are investors with portfolios running into hundreds of millions who are still salary earners.

Portfolio investors are silent millionaires or billionaires.
I know a lady that uses the same stockbroking firm with me, whose portfolio and her inherited portfolio is over N40 million and still teaches in a highbrow school in Ikeja.

The guy should diligently do the job he loves, Late Prof Omotola was a real estate billionaire but was still a university teacher, quite a number of lecturers in the faculty of engineering, law and medical school of UNILAG are millionaires, some are also members of the board of directors of some blue chip companies.

If the guy is not an entrepreneur, he should be diligent with his job and continue to invest.

N20 million should be invested in Treasury Bills for 364 days, N10 million in the stock market, N5 in real estate. He can readjust his investment in 12 to 24 months time based on the emerging economic developments and realities.

That's not nonsense bro.

Assuming it is 20m you have idle that you invested into this thing, and assuming the rates remain at 18% ; that is 3.6m at the end of the year, or on the average, 300;000 a month, so it is not nonsense

It looking small because you asked for 20;000
That's why

lol, I dunno but so long as he has a passive income and he enjoys what he does. I don't see why he should quit to rely only on Tbills yield annually
