No my Dear You didn't get this one. I've been on this forum for almost 6months now. It might sound as a lie to you but the likes of kaptainAfrica, Seyewest and Nefetitiram knows why I presented the question indirectly. why, because this is not the appropriate thread for it and as someone that has been here for a long time that also know the rules and regulation guiding this thread, I won't get any response from the Guru's. this is an immigration Question and got nothing to do with visiting. If I present myself as the subject matter, I know they all shall refer me to the immigration thread which is at a standstill for now.

Thanks for your advice. highly appreciated.

Hello Good people,

I plan on visiting the USA this winter by applying on my own. As in i will be booking hotel/hostel/ AirBnB as proof of accommodation without the using an invitation letter.

Question: Is that feasible?

I have been to 8 european countries on several occasions

Thank you.

Hello salsera -

Your statement is incorrect. To enter the US you must have a valid visa (valid on the date of entry, doesn't matter how much longer it is valid for) and a passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry. If Rachie83 is planning to travel to the US in November 2017 then the Passport expiring in February 2018 will be a problem. She should renew the passport before traveling. If she has a visa in the passport that expires February 2018 she can bring that passport with her along with her new passport to be allowed entry. Alternatively, she can renew the passport before her interview so that it is all in 1 passport.

salsera:

No.

It means that BEFORE you APPLY for a visa you must have 6 months at least left on your PASSPORT.
In your case both your visa and passport are both valid when you intend to travel in November 2017.
If you decide to travel AFTER Feb 2018 when your passport expires then you need a new passport but your US visa(in your expired passport) if its still valid can be taken along.

LadyGuinivere, look at this...

My wife and I applied for the US Visa and were interviewed in August. She was pregnant. But, HONESTLY, we were not traveling so that she will have our baby there. In fact, we didn't plan that because we don't have such money. We wanted to travel for vacation and also to celebrate her birthday. Moreover, we will return to Nigeria before she gives birth.

But, unfortunately, we were denied Visa.

I'm a clergy. My Bishop gave me letter of approval for us to travel and come back.

Guys, what do you think?

Oga boss, I can't just jump and pass! You and @JWT just dey reign for the thread.

Your case is a clear one of desperation, and it will soon earn you a proper red-flagging at best and a ban at worst. Lemme attempt to tell you your plan. Seems everyone is some bit sugarcoating what should be told you in plain and clear terms, and I will help, ain't taking prisoners on this one.

You actually don't have money for birthing like you rightly said, you wanted to relocate with your family to the US back of a B1/B2 visa, you also wanted to birth without payment from your pocket, on an anchor baby route proper. That has failed, and sense has departed you, you have studied the thread and twerked it to fit your desperation albeit directionlessly. Your decision now is to go alone, relocating without your wife and child for now. You want to use the thread and our head to know how to do this....

The simple answer is that you will be found out, particularly because of your impatience! Punishment awaits you if wisdom will not return to you early now....

Lol!! Now that's so not true. Most of the places affected were electricity outages and which about 90% of the electricity have been restored.

Hello nanajec -

We do not comment on the chances of issuance of any particular case. However, in almost all circumstances we don't care who invited you, or if anyone has invited you. Invitation letters are rarely requested or looked at. What we do care about are your ties to Nigeria. A history of international travel is one of many factors we consider in analyzing ties.

Exactly my same thoughts.

If he truly wanted to take his family just on vacation to the US and come back to Nigeria but was denied he might as well have tried other countries for the same vacation...now that shouldn't be complicated to do.

Bottom line, that zone isn't a tourist haven right now, and for your safety, VO may just deny the visa so that water will not carry you away.
