From Barca B to Iran.... What happened to Ezekiel Bassey? sad

(Photo Confirmation) : Former Barcelona Striker Shakes Hands With Paykan Tehran FC

With a statement on their official webpage, Iranian Pro League outfit Paykan FC have announced the signing of Nigeria international Ezekiel Bassey.

The financial terms and length of contract signed by the 21-year-old striker have not been disclosed by The Car Makers.

At the end of the 2016-2017 campaign, Ezekiel had to return to his employer Enyimba after Barcelona passed up the opportunity to sign him on a permanent basis.

The attacker failed to make a single appearance for the B Team of the Spanish club because the work permit process was delayed and there were concerns about his fitness.

After six matches in the Pro League, Paykan FC sit seventh on the table with eight points accumulated.
Ezekiel Bassey joins former Ismaily star Kenneth Ikechukwu at the capital outfit.

Scary stuff! I will seriously have a heart attack if I see him in goal against Zambia. As a matter of fact, I am still recovering from the one he gave me in the game against South Africa and Algeria sad

Anywayz, not to worry, my prayer warriors are still on call .... I might have to call upon them again.

What if he just had a loss of form? Take it from someone who knows, old age isn't the only reason most of our players don't reach their potential.

The biggest issue is lack of opportunities in many of these big Euro teams. If you're an African, you better keep producing day in day out because once you have a loss of form that's it for you. An average European player would keep getting opportunities upon opportunities but once an African player (worse if you're Nigerian) has two or three bad games then you're going to the bench and may never get outta there!

A couple of good examples are what they did to Victor Moses at Liverpool. The entire team was having a bad patch but it was Victor Moses was picked out and sentenced to the bench. Look at what happened at Watford last season as well. Both Ighalo and Troy Deenney were having a bad season, but Ighalo lost his position while Deeney kept playing until he gets back into form. Alex Iwobi had the same problem at Arsenal last season as well. He was moved to play with the youth side when Arsenal started performing poorly despite the fact that Iwobi always gives a good account of himself anytime he plays.

The moral of the story: we don't always get equal playing field.

are we still citing FIFA ranking that has proven to be no more than a farce more often than not?

GOAL, 1-0 Leicester. Chalobah's mistake gives Ahmed Musa a free run on goal, he squares for George Thomas to find the back of the net. CFCdev VS LEIdev

Two months ago, right? Granted that it was in the U-21 tournament but I don't know if Zambia has played any competitive games against an Euro opponent recently.

All in all, I am almost sure that the current Zambia national team would defeat Scotland .... and believe me on that one grin

the thing tire me. That is easily the worst defence of Nacho's stats possible. His stats are great but let's not over-stress it

But still, it gives clue about the power a team.
Which ever way, Scotland and Slovenia are no push overs.

Abdul Ajagun starts for Kortrijk as one of three central midfielders in his team's 4-3-1-2 formation away to Antwerp in the Belgian Jupiler League.

His team are down by one goal after 22mins....

Yes, no African country has ever beaten England. Cameroun came closest at Italia 90 quarter finals but after holding on for so long to their one goal lead, a spurious penalty was awarded to England. England won 2:1

Scotland and Slovenia would av been powerhouse if they are in Africa
what are you saying...
so you mean..had it been Nigeria was a European country...
with our population and a relatively better league...like that of Slovenia or even Scotland....
I believe no European nation would be able to match us...
please forget it.....the problem wit Africa countries...is that we lack structures and proper management of talents
