makydebbie:you attend wedding in Ghana and there isn't food for you? I doubt it ....... weeding in Ghana is much celebrated like that of Yoruba or Igbo people... there is aso ebi.....where people wear the same attire.... pastries are served in the church for the Christian while koko and kose are served in the house for the Muslims at early in the morning.... while in the reception hall... food are served... sometimes you are made to line up for the food..... it is a way to ensure every visitor is served and visitor also contribute a little cash or gift to the pulse of the event.... once you collect the food ,you drop some cash...... I will advise you to visit zongo community during any weeding occasion.... it is always a blast.... I do not see much difference between Ghanian weeding and her Nigeria counterpart....... apart from that aspect of lining up for food which make sense to me..... |

vaxx:I guess you're a Ghanaian too. Like I said it's three weddings and it was for a church member. The kind of owambe they have in Nigeria is not like Ghana's. Even when my brother got married in Nigeria, my family members were complaining that the refreshments were too much and there we joked about it. The last wedding I attended even tried, they shared chicken and chips. You need to see the look on my face and my sisters when they shared meatpie for us in the first wedding we attended. |

hilroy:..... I'm not one of those people who insult other tribes......we are all different and so have different cultures, likes and stuff like that...as an igbo boy I don't eat a particular soup(name withheld) because I wasn't trained with it.....my mother loves ewedu and amala lik but I detest it....its just all about diversity...and I don't see anything wrong with those food you listed even though I spent my first seventeen years with Yorubas |

youngdabold:I surely didn't say there is anything wrong with those foods. Trust me, out of those foods I mentioned, the only one I haven't had is Nsala, and if you bring it for me today, I will eat it without hesitation and add it to the very long list of foods that had been consumed by hilroy. When it comes to food, I'm super open-minded. I'm not trying to blow my horn, but I have eaten delicacy from over 30 countries. One thing I know is that foods come in different form, taste, color and appearance. However, the fact remains that whatever a race, tribe, clan or group decide to eat, no one has the right to speak ill of it. |
