Lihyunpark:It is not that you bow downed to something or somebody makes it to be worship. Worship comes From the heart, I. e if when you are asked, you will say clearly that this is my god, but I doubt that any Catholic will say that Mary is his/her god. Note, i can bow down before you but I don't take you as my god |

tyson98: It's human nature to get tired of repetitions, fortunately, I've admitted the truth and you have not. I can literally say the Mass from beginning to end due to my experience as an Alter server, almost every year the same readings and Saint feasts. And honestly some teachings are just contradictory, for example - Yesterday, my Priest was just hammering on confession, that if you don't go for confession, it means you haven't had a spiritual bath, so you are smelling before God. Why is he underestimating the forgiving power of God? Did God tell him or the Pope that we must confess our sins via them to God before we are forgiven? Besides what's now the use of that I confess to Almighty God, and to you my brothers and sisters prayer? Are they saying the pray is useless? |

homesteady:You don't truly understand the significance and importance of going to confession. Besides remember that God told his apostles that whomsoever sin you forgive, it has been forgiven and whomsoever son you retain, it shall be retained. |

nwokoyepraise: There are a thousand other verses about asking God for forgiveness! Besides I'm not arguing about the efficacy of confession! I'm just saying they are undermining God's forgiveness with such sermons, because even logically it doesn't make any sense. Can you with a straight face boldly say God doesn't forgive Non-Catholics because they don't go for confession? 1 Like |

gemale: The word of God is ever green, it will produce result anytime any day but the difference is always in the conveying vessel..... If the preacher is shallow and have a casual relationship with the source of power and anointing, the holy spirit, the word though in itself powerful will not yield result. Two people can preach the same topic to the same congregation but obtain different outcome. In normal university environment, there is always a lecturer that is a delight to listen and learn easily from ... Aguolu taught me taxation and auditing in UNEC and made it a meal for everyone ....one will have result while the other will only pass on information..... Therefore, The impart of the word is a function of the vessel. The disciples went out and tried deliverance it didn't work , they returned and told the master, then he revealed the secret.... If Jesus Christ had gone out preaching before his going for forty days prayer where he returned in the power of the holy spirit he would only have been passing information without impart ...The sons of Scevas spoke the same word they learned from Jesus Christ but got not the same result he usually get in such situations. The disciples having been with Jesus Christ for three years and half of his ministry could have launched out immediately after his death but Jesus Christ knew that they only had information without power for result and instructed them to wait in Jerusalem until power be released on them from above and that happened on what we now refer to as Pentecost day. I was in a similar situation like the person. Mass was always boring .... Then a Rev father Ozele started ,streams of love, where he taught the word with power , opposition came from within , he was pursued from PTI conference center, the venue he hires for the events on Sundays to College of education auditorium and then finally he was sent out of the country to the US. Anointing and grace is not a function of title but diligent walk with the holy spirit .... After mass, mass of Catholics troops to Ozele program though they have just closed from Sunday Mass .,,why? Spiritual Hunger persisted even after the mass. Anointing and grace is in levels.. Anointing is not anointing. Grace is not grace ... They are in levels and so also is impartation..Jesus had the anointing.. Eze 47:1- without measure so could do as occasion served him....Sticking back a severed ear lobe without prayer. |

homesteady:there are many verses about forgiveness in scripture but in the new testament and in early Christian writing the mode of obtaining this forgiveness is usually confession. I can't tell you what God doesn't do, but I can tell you what God does. He offered confession as THE new testament means of forgiving sin and he gave that power to the apostles and their successors and this has been the practice in the Church of Christ for 2000 years. I won't tell you what God doesn't do, but that which he has told us in scripture and in the Church for centuries that I'll do,and if I were you I would thank the priest who reminded me. permit me to rant a little, I think the problem with Catholics is that we are often ignorant of what we have and treat them with less the value they possess. Do you think God is ignorant of the fact that many people will sit in their house and pray for forgiveness? yet after he has paid the ultimate price and won infinite merits for us he came to his apostles and gave them power to forgive sins, he gave us a sacrament for reconciliation and made his ministers stewards of his mysteries. Why not make use of this new testament gift whereby Hod clearly shows his mercy and assure you of forgiveness. sorry but you can't compare it to what the Protestants have, they simply don't have this, nor do they have the life giving Eucharist... these are the gift of the new covenant found only in the Church of Christ. I am lost for words, I don't know how to even explain this to you. how God himself activates his covenant for us through the sacrament. 2 Likes |

homesteady: strangely enough if you read your Bible you will realise that God is a fan of repetitious covenantal rituals. right from the beginning when man started worshipping God,Abel is the first recorded ritualist, he built an alter and offered God a sacrifice the same ritual is performed by Noah when God made a covenant with him then Abraham when God made a covenant, then Isaac when God renews his covenant, then Jacob,... then Moses and all the Israelites each time they renewed their covenant with God they repeat rituals again and again and again... and even when Jesus came and offered the sacrifice of all sacrifices he still left us a repetitious ritual called the Eucharist, and St Paul says that as often as we REPEAT that ritual we are proclaiming that ultimate sacrifice that seals the new covenant. if you are scared of repetition then maybe you haven't been reading the bible or maybe you should change your orientation. 2. every year is not the same reading, there are 3 different liturgical cycles and the whole Bible is covered in 3 years leaving just bit and pieces. do you know any other church that cover the Bible in 3 years.... the feast are the same because the liturgical cycle is like a spiral staircase each new cycle catapulting you to a new level in grace. it is a pity we Catholics do not see this. 3. the I confess prayer is a penitential prayer for the forgiveness of venial sin, mortal sin does get forgiven in confession. A prayer doesn't replace a sacrament. so your priest is right and there is no contradiction . 1 Like |

Ubenedictus: The Catholic order of mass is repetitive. It has nothing to do with the covenants you have listed to support it .... Those covenant didn't happen every day and Sundays ... They were hundreds of years apart, don't make it look like the same actors did them Everytime Why would you sit in judgement and conclude that other churches don't complete the Bible in three years when even Christ Embassy runs programs for completing the Bible in a year..... There is no church that doesn't complete the Bible in a year Winners runs a 12 calendar teaching topic known as the 12 pillars of the Church/ Destiny... Sanctification, Divine direction , Divine Prosperity, Divine healing, Thw word , Signs and wonders , Prayer ,the holy spirit and the rest and all they teaching before the year ends comes from the entire bible....This September that just ended is the month of supernatural Breakthrough is my birthright.....As from Sunday October first, it will be another theme Please the bolded in your post should receive more light with scriptural backings. |
