My baby Ebunoluwa that had jaundice at birth and I got advices here was a year old on 16th September (about 18 days ago), how time flies
The past one year has been a very interesting one, few weeks to her birthday she started having temperature we used teething solutions back and forth no show. We suspected malaria so we gave her anti malaria which she took but serious cough and cold won't let her be so we saw a nurse who prescribed antibiotics and ibuprofen, after this her health improved tremendously and we had a sickness-free birthday.

I said here months ago she refused baby food, till this day the only milk she takes is breast milk, anything that looks like liquid she won't take, only water and juice. Last night I tried tea before deciding to buy her own milk, she refused. Last week I tried hollandia yoghurt she refused and you dare not force anything down her throat (not even drugs), she will spill it out or coughs till she vomits it. I don't know who else has experienced this with babies.

She gradually stopped crawling towards her first birthday and now walks but staggers a lot. She likes noodles a lot but is getting to like bread as well, I don't know if this is okay for her system at her age, she eats every other thing she sees me eating.

Kudos to all the mothers here doing great jobs, I'm the father but I feel the heat a lot as well

Not any food please.... We have talked and talked about food on this forum to give but am not voting for 4 month to be given solid but some mama did it and it worked well for them so you can go for cereals that it's written 4+ on it. All the best!!!

Was using coconut oil for cream and dove to bath before but meh!!! My baby body turn black and face come yellow. Becos I have never applied cream to her face before so the yellow is intact.
To cut the story short, am using Aveeno soap and cream and it seems working well for her body. At least the skin is balancing with face color

Well I don't know what to say to this but I have been consuming any tea even Nescafé sef but in a minimal amount. What I do is if I take coffee I won't breastfeed for like 5hrs so that I would have pee it out bfor given baby breast.

If the pus is much it may be an eye infection, see the doctor. If it's just the small quantity that you usually see when she wakes up then no problem

I went to the super store where I buy my baby's cereal. I asked for any other cereal I can give my boy they gave me NUTRIBEN, omo the thing scatter my baby's skin he had big rash from his neck to his hands. As soon as I stopped it fresh once stopped coming then it dried up. So I decided to stick to my Gerber alone no more experimenting.

My son has a cracked voice I took him to see his pediatrician. He look into his throat and said he tonsils where large and it might be due to bacterial infection from fighting allergen. He gave me antibiotics now Dh doesn't want me to give ds antibiotics. Pls what should I do?

Thanks to everyone that advised me concerning traveling with my 7mths for my very good friend's wedding. Hubby decided to go with us and my younger sister came from sch to join us so it was fun and also very easy handling my son.
Then the groom sister decided to toast my DH ( she saw fine ajebo boy) she had the gusts to ask him if he is taken Dh said he is taken she kept insisting even when she can see wedding band and the baby he is carrying looks like him. The chief bridesmaid was steering at him seriously. Chai lagos girls are bad sha.

Mamas pls i need suggestions again on what to feed my baby, I'm confused and lost...we will be 7 months on sunday and i want him to start taking proper food not just pap and mixagrain.. i cant find the baby okro soup recipe and how do I prepare potatoes for him? What do i add to it pls? Thanks

my okro recipe - Okro+ewedu+ blended crayfish+deboned titus or chicken+ little palm oil
I simply blend the okro and ewedu after slicing..
put the mix on fire and add the crayfish, deboned titus fish or chicken and palm oil.
Allow it to cook for a while.

Potatoes - I do mashed sweet potato
sweet potato+blended crayfish+ titus fish or chicken+ onions+ olive oil or coconut oil

peel and wash sweet potato
dice and put in a pot with enough water to cook it.
while it is cooking add crayfish, onions, coconut oil or olive oil, titus fish or chicken to it.
Let it cook to a very soft texture so that ur LO can swallow (if u want to give him mashed)
U can blend it to a very fine puree and serve.

Pls be careful when deboning the fish cos of all those tiny tiny bones that can hide in the middle.
Sometimes I use chicken instead of fish
For emergency, when i don't have fish or chicken readily available, I use august secrets blended fish to cook her meals
U can use irish potatoes instead of sweet for variety
U can also cook plantain for him using the sweet potato recipe
U can prepare mixagrain or nuttymeal as swallow (same way u make semo) and use it to serve the okro soup

Pls discontinue the drug, its obvious she's reacting to the drug. Take her back to the hospital . she will be fine.

Just baby food. We bought NAN at 6 months to supplement breast milk, she rejected. Every other liquid asides water and juice (squeezed orange, caprisone) she rejects up till now. She takes any other solid food we eat and yes she wants to feed herself at times, at times she drops them on the floor after we feed her and the picks up herself just because she wants to feed herself
For fruits she takes squeezed orange alone but she loves carrot because she uses it to soothe her gums

Have you tried finger foods. Sometimes babies just want to do things them selves and will refuse if you feed them.

It is a messy process so be prepared for the clean-up

Try given her stuff that she can suck the life out of!

At this age i will suggest soft fruits such as ripe mango and avocado or baby snacks like the puffs which are usually flavoured with things like carrots, cheese tomato and sweetcorn.

Also ensure she is supervised while feeding herself.

Regards to the wife!

put some water on the fire, when it boils put the okro with a little palm oil, you can add some titus fish (debone VERY CAREFULLY).

Modified: i just reread this, biko cook the titus before putting it in the soup oh. Ehen

Once it's cooked, allow to cool then blend it. - I got this recipe from my senior mama enque, she puts ewedu in her own too
Cut your potatoes into small cubes, boil and then blend into a puree. You can put a few drops of olive/coconut oil and some fish powder (you mentioned mixagrain so I assume you have this)
The potato you can pair with beef, fish (titus - remember the deboning work) or chicken. Boil and blend any of these with the potatoes
Please don't season baby's food with maggi/salt
You can also do fruit purees - apple, banana, pawpaw, avocado, pear, mangoes etc

The pus/wax from the eyes might be a symptom on teething even though when I searched online I was told it is an infection. Ordinarily this should clear in three/four days as it has happened to my daughter twice in 12 months three weeks that she has been on earth, at times we dropped breast milk into the eyes don't if that worked but it cleared after some days. If it persists then you need to see a doctor as it might really be an infection
