Nobody seems to talk about other provinces like Newfoundland, PEI, Yukon, New Brunswick. Is it that there are no Nigerians living there or migrating there?

Na u go tear those sides open. Ha!

Nigerians are there. We are everywhere, just that the population is more in the West. I lived in Newfoundland for more than 3 years and I have friends living in PEI.

Nice. What's your assessment of that place? Would you live there again?

PEI, CharlotteTown

Good to see people going to places other than the "popular" provinces. Would love to know your experience when you move.

I doubt that professional qualifications are equivalent of BSc degrees any where in the world (they are mostly classified as Associate degrees). University degrees (academic) are usually different from professional qualifications, so I would understand WES' decision. I guess this is why ACCA has a MOU with Oxford Brookes University, where you can write a final project to get a top-up BSc degree. I'm not exactly sure how this works because I'm not in the management sciences, but I remember a colleague did this a few years ago.

My sentiments as well. Waiting so long makes speedy PPR look like a waste. The good thing though is that it saved us the headache of waiting for ages to get a response.

The good thing for you is that April won't be as cold as the winder months will be and eventually, we'll be there. Enjoy the hot weather while it lasts.

I am leaving Easter. Seems so far away given the speed with which I got PPR but there are some things I can't hasten.

Heard that Ethiopian is building a new terminal that will be of international standard. Don't know when it will be ready.

Newfoundland is a very nice and reserved province, I enjoyed my time there. It's good for schooling and raising family. However, people move out of the place because of work. There is no too much to do there. Meanwhile, it's a place I can live conveniently in if I get my dream job there.

I think I gave wrong information earlier, you don't need to start from scratch for conversion from ICAN to ACCA. See link

This is what is on d link you posted above. So it means no need to write ACCA. @hayour2014. We just pray that ICAN concludes the MRA very soon.

Yeah, but someone exclaimed it to be that you don't get ACCA from ICAN via MRA. You get exemptions and have to still write the final paper and fulfill the practical experience part.

We need someone who has gone that route to tell us if it is what is obtainable. The exams to write for CPA is ore than that for ACCA. In fact, it is like going back to school.

you are very correct as I missed that part cos one will have to write final level papers of ACCA.

@ballerz pls help us ask your friend about his ICAN to CPA. How many papers he wrote to get the CPA so that we can compare both and decide which route will be d best.

I dislike America too especially the gun violence. The gun violence is so bad that we even lost a great nairalander here a few years ago. He was going home from his college and got shot because a guy was trying to rob him of his backpack. All he had in it were textbook. I have families and friends down there who love that kind of lifestyle and would never live anywhere outside the US.lol

Exactly my concern as well.

Knowing if the upgrade is same as ICAP course by course because the option is not there and confirming whether I really need to send same documents again.

They don't reply mails at all

Let's see if @Ehrnie and @dupyshoo can assist with their experience.

Update on this for those of us upgrading or intend to upgrade for licensing purposes.

After submitting my application on 8th October, it was still showing the documents I need to send but I decided to be patient. On 10th October, it was updated to 'all documents received' and then on 11th October, it has changed to 'all documents reviewed and accepted', completion scheduled for 19th October now.

So I guess our ECA was ICAP all along because they didn't even do any verification from my schools again.

Good day Virtual Fam. I know we have discussed telephone bill, hydro and some other bills at different times. My thought- Is it possible for our seniors to list and put bill estimates per month in their diff areas, provinces? I feel it will give a clearer pic & help one way or another.
Break down
Monthly bills
Car insurance per car
Phone bills
Wifi n land line
Feeding for individual/family per month
School fees/daycare/pre school
After school if applicable
Hydro
Water bill

I understand that it is objective and it may vary individual to individual due to varying taste n choices

Been trying to collate but i have just these two-

Single lady Nova Scotia
Bills
Wifi 95
Car insurance - 150 cos shes in her early twenties- apparently it affects the price
Phone bills -80
Electricity -60
Water n heat- 400
Fuelling- 200/month
Feeding - 300/month

Family of four in Manitoba - less than 3k per month
Internet- 70
Netflix -10
Car insurance -170 per car
House -1300 for 2 bed - rent
Hydro -40
Parking- 50
Kids private school -600per term 200 per mnth
Daycare- 400 per mnth
Phone - $80 with new phone-wtout phone 40
Feeding - $400
Gas- $40 per week
They r thinking of buying their place - it will be the same but just include
Property tax 4k/yr on mortgage

@All with COPR,

The PPR mail requests for completed form IMM008 and Additional Family Information forms.

I already completed and sent the form IMM008.

Do we need to also send the Additional Family Information forms?

I need to confirm before I initiate a CSE. Thanks

Hi guys, where is the best place to change USD to CAD when I land?
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by yimiton(f): 12:59pm On Oct 12, 2017
I don't understand your question but when I got my PPR mail, I didn't send an IMM008 form being that my family composition had not changed. However, I filled the form that was attached to the email and sent it with my passports.

If your family composition hasn't changed, there's no reason why you should fill the IMM008 again.

Thanks. From your response, you only need to complete the IMM008 form.

To clarify, my PPR request seemed to request for three documents:
1. Passports
2. Height, Weight, Eye colour form (this was attached to the PPR)
2. Form IMM008
3. Additional Family Information <-- this is the one I want to confirm if anybody filled it.

Just buy a Chatr line. There is the 45 CDN that gives unlimited Voice and Text plus 2 GB Data.
Here is the catch, Data never gets exhausted technically. When the 2GB finished, you will be downgraded to 2G connection. That is, browsing speed will be slower. Where I come from that slow speed is what we pay a premium for.... SO leave that thing wey u dey call slow internet browsing.
