"UNILEVER reports blow-out 3rd quarter results

Oct 20 (Lagos) - Unilever Nigeria Plc ( UNILEVER ) reported third quarter results today and blew away all analyst expectations.

Sales rose by 37% to N 24 billion in the third quarter.

Profit after tax rose to N 1.1 billion up by 143% from the same quarter of 2016.

Shareholders equity rose 60% to N 9.75 billion.

This is a major news for investors as this Company is blowing away expectations. With the rights issue concluded, UNILEVER will be able to invest heavily in Nigeria.

UNILEVER sales for the 9 months of 2017 have already crossed the sales for full year 2017.

Profit for the 9 months of 2017 is more than 3 times the profit of full year 2016.

That is enough reason why the market puts a price earnings (P/E) ration of more than 54 on this stock.

Expect that to go sharply higher because this Company is what foreign investors are looking for in the basket of Nigerian stocks in consumer goods sector.

The rights issue information is awaited and those who got the rights at 30, they will be feeling good after seeing this result."- easykobo

One needs to be extra careful when a sales speech is being run for a company . Evan Medical is a recent case study.

Somebody was here singing praises of this company.

Yes not too encouraging, but guys are currently investing based on the proposed right issue. My broker got just 4000 units for me yesterday, because I put a price limit of N56. The other quantity I wanted to buy could not be bought. The stock surprising gained yesterday.

Lafarge is a minimum of 6 months play. The proceeds from the right will be used to clear substantial percentage of the debt.
Similar thing happened to Guinness early this year

Always invest in liquid stocks. Most insurance stocks are very illiquid.

Always invest in companies that are consistent with dividend payment. Also invest in companies where PFAs invest in.

They are expected to invest in stocks that have consistently paid dividends for a minimum of 5 years.

Thanks Emmanuel. Coming back to my question. What can I do to sell my cornerstone stocks investment of about #200,000. Please help me navigate this nagging trajectory.
I actually bought the stock out of inexperience. My sublime inexperience of those days. If I mention other stocks that I bought, you go laugh tire. The funny aspect of it was that the so called stocks were actually strongly recommended by the gurus in the house here. I now know much better. Left to me, I'm not even interested in any insurance stocks. My stocks must be producing tangible products. Like Cement Companies. (courtesy Currentprice) lol.
