The problem here is Yoruba have a claim to the City of Lagos.

Hausa have a claim to the City of Abuja.

Both were built with our collective resources from the SS region mainly.

That is not a problem, Yoruba carry Lagos and HausaFulani carry Abuja, no problem.

The problem is wen the said group start attacking IPOB demanding Biafra and SS demanding resource control.

When did yorubas attack IPOB/BIAFRA? I'm lost here, pls show me where and tell me when. Your fight should be with the coward Nnamdi who foolishly thought spewing hate speech would help you lots achieve Biafra. Thanks to Kanu, igbos are now one of the most hated ethnic groups in Nigeria. (This one is honestly not even my business because most of you are hateful as well) Own up to your shit and stop blaming yoruba for what we dont give a mess about. Why lumping the SS in your foolery though? Who made you their mouth piece?

LAGOS CITY, GOES BY THE NIGERIA OFFICIAL LANGUAGE.

ANY OTHER STATE IN THE SOUTH WEST, I WIL GIVE COMMENDATION FOR PUTTING RESOURCES IN PLACE TO TEACH NON-YORUBA THE LANGUAGE BUT NOT THE COMMERCIAL CAPITAL AND CITY OF NIGERIA.

DO U NEED ME TO REMIND YOU THAT THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF NIGERIA IS ENGLISH?

2 options: live with it or send your kids to your village to attend school there as I believe your community has world educational institutions.

Shut it man, Lagos belongs to all of who? I laugh! When someone opened a thread saying Onitsha is no man's land, I saw your kinsmen wailing and almost commiting suicide yet you want to claim another man's property.
Let me hit you with the hard truth, you will NEVER smell that governor's seat you so much covet. Not in this lifetime, nor in the next, but it's okay to dream. (Haha, if wishes were horses fam).

they are lucky it's not someone like me that owns nairaland. I for Don ban their entire family since for every tribal war thread they create... They get like 50 years ban. Every tribal war inciting comment gets then 10 years ban. By that time their brain will reset...

don't mind the fool. You want to rule a people you hate , a people you claim to be the problem of your downfall.

I read someone say Igbos are now the most hated tribe in Nigeria but I have to correct that notion that millions of igbos don't act like this demented and regurgitated remnant here. I asked my cousin while I was in the east what she thought about Nnamdi Kanu.

I asked her that question because she is based in the East and was born there and by default you would expect her to share similar ideology like the mad man here.

She hissed and said Nnamdi Kanu only knows how to insult and throw blatant disrespect around.

So you see?

Jphilips is an igbo man but his comments does not seem like one. So you see? A lot of igbos do not share the ideology.
I share similar stand as you've described. I am not against any ethnic groups desire to break away and establish a new nation outside Nigeria but what every sane person will agree to is that Nnamdi Kanu approached it in the worst way but most nairaland igbos dont want to hear or even admit it. I have Igbo friends and their way of life is not similar to that exhibited by these ones on nairaland. It's a shame that some of your kinsmen are hell bent on giving the peaceful Igbo's such a bad name.

There are certain languages that are useless in the modern world.

Yoruba is one of such languages, keep it in your various states and villages. i.e. Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti Osun.

Stay out of the Federal Commercial Capital called Lagos with that trash.
See mumu…. Make I shame you small, I always enjoy how you always expose your ignorance in public grin

No member of my family and never will my children go to School to waste their time learning a language that is useless in commerce, science and technology.

I sent them to school to develop themselves and contribute to human development.

How is my Igbo son/daughter learning Yoruba useful?

All this yoruba attempt to convert other tribes to yoruba is doomed to fail.

Go and teach your yoruba children their language, culture and heritage, leave other tribes out of it.

We will not hesitate to drag Lagos state government to court and get that Bill by Lagos State Assembly struck out as unconstitutional.

Just leave our children that are not yoruba out of your tribalistic ethnic domination agenda of other tribes residing the the Commercial capital of our Country Nigeria.

My children education is my priority and I am totally vested in wat they learn at School.

I want the best for them. I believe the time they will use to learn Yoruba, is best spent learning French.

There should be an option for non-yorubas in the City of Lagos.

Courts have a process that function in synergy with democratic process. The democratic process here is to follow due dilligence and register your dissatisfaction with the lawmakers. Because no lives and properties are in danger, the law to make Yoruba a compulsory language of instruction follows cultural values for learning, development and progress. The jurisdiction on the matter falls on Customary Courts to adjudicate. Therefore your lawsuit in a civil court will be dismissed and the court will rule itself incompetent on matters of customs and language. You will be referred to Customary Court and present your case to Yoruba lawyers in a Yoruba Court. The Court of Customs will ask if you have approached and addressed your grievance to the Baale in your ward. If you say no, they will ask if you have approached and addressed the issue with the Legislative member that represent your ward.

Things are done in order of process in Yorubaland. Make sure you have your ducks lined up before going to court.

Let us not decieve ourselves here, we all know the Federal courts will uphold the constitution and the numerous freedom that are enshrined which we all enjoy.

This is an effort in futility.

Yorubas should get this right, I am not fighting with u.

However, i will not be intimidated from claiming my right, in-view that my continued Nigeria status, was by force.

We had already left and abandonded Lagos in the 1960s. It was starvation by Awolowo and War by Gowon that drag us back into this dead marriage.

We are still willing to leave Nigeria today.

With that said, I maintain that Yoruba language should only be compulsory in School for Yoruba children, just like Islam is compulsory for only muslims.

How about 'It was Ojukwu's greed for Lagos that brought you into confrontation at Ore"?

Being patriotic is working under the law and establishing laws that's within the jurisdictions of the law of the federal republic of nigeria albeit bestowed on each region or state to operate independently. So far, SW,especially Lagos hasn't in any way enacted a law nor operate without that jurisdiction of the federal republic of nigeria. Except you can point that out?

I love this development , i urge other yoruba and non-yoruba speaking states to emmulate this , it'll atleast help develop our local dialect and boost the chances of a yoruba schooling outside his/her region have an inkling of their local dialect.

Lagos Assembly passes bill making Yoruba language compulsory in schools

The bill makes the teaching of Yoruba language compulsory both in private and public schools in the state. It also makes it a core subject at all levels.

We will simply drag Lagos state to Abuja, where the HausaFulani, Ijaws, Efik, Ibibio and all the various tribes that encompass Nigeria will explain the meaning of domination.

How one group can sit down in a state with about 50% of non- yoruba groups as well as international resident from all over the world and mandate all our children to be forcefully taught Yoruba?

They will explain the meaning of domination in Abuja.

go to germany and tell them you want do business but you don't wan't to learn german.
