Hello, Ladies. Interesting views so far, I must tell you. I don't intend meddling with all the ladies throwing around arguments. Please take note of the following:

1. Possession of a degree does not, in anyway, make you think better than someone without it.

2. Marrying a man that possesses a degree does not guarantee you a happy marriage.

3. Bagging a degree is not the true definition of education. Simply put, you're not better educated than one without it.

4. It's not every man without a degree that is jealous of a career-loving wife.

5. 99% of the people that have interracted with me in all spheres of life in the last 12 years (including you) did not know that I never had a degree (till today) .

6. I do not have a degree. What I possess is NCE. With it, I taugh in schools, worked in the financial services sector, worked in the construction and building sector, etc. before resigning into self-employment in October, 2015. Currently in Church, I oversee hundreds of very learned personalities, yet if they are told today that I'm not a graduate, they will say, "it's a lie." Today, I run my own successful school and farm. My in-laws to be do not even bother asking if I'm a graduate or not. Infact, they do not even know and even if they're told, they'll never believe it. My father-in-law to be is a serving Navy Capt. in the Nigerian Navy. I'm marrying their daughter by God's grace next year. I have never stepped outside the shores of Nigeria. Even though I don't possess a university degree, my wife to be does not even bother. It's very good to be a graduate, but that's not all to life.

7. I'm just 32.

I had this mentality couple of years ago when I was in my final year, still relishing the thought of brandishing my high GPA in the eyes of anyone that bothered to give me audience. Today I'm in the Engineering industry, learning from people who had less formal education than I did but ironically are more sound technically and way successful than I could ever imagine. And guess what? Most of them from what I've learnt personally have affected society more than our so called first class students- the pride of tertiary education.

and I could go on and on...but in simple University education is shit.... especially in Nigeria

lol....thank you. You actually prompted to that comment really,because you stand the opposition tests being thrown at you. You have some serious points that men might find it difficult to agree with including me but experience-wise they are genuine no doubt. Most times, a wrong can be actually right if you can prove it from a pure heart and experience.

Her views are more enlightened and civil, influenced largely by her education.
His are more archaic and obsolete. Due to the lack of exposure that comes with education.

He feels he can treat his wife any way he pleases. He is even of the view that he can kill her because he paid her bride price!
To him she has no basic human rights!

Now if he married an illiterate she could tolerate such because she knows no better.
But for a well read woman it's unimaginable.

This is the point am stressing. I've witnessed it first hand. AN EDUCATED WOMAN AND AN UNEDUCATED MAN IS A BAD MIX!
Except he was the same exposure through reading and experience but for one reason or the other could not get a degree.

For example. My husband and I were in uni together. We both studied law. I've since gone to law sch and become a lawyer but my hus has been unable to go due to business.
However he has read all the law school courses. He also worked in the court for 10years after his waec. He is by far more experienced than me in law processes but is not a lawyer.
In this instance he has been educated by his experience and exposure. We reason alike and share the same views.

These folks you are calling up and down are in a civilized society, they are in developed country where they learn worthy skills without a degree and are very fluent in English, the non degree holders here mostly can't even make a correct sentence, most of them. So I wouldn't want to be in a situation where I will keep correcting someone's grammatical errors and blunders, thereby making me feel embarrassed and ruining my image which means a lot to me. Also why I said our thinking level won't be the same is because most of these non-degree holders perceive you as acting or feeling big because you have a degree and they don't, I don't know if you are getting my point, you can't give him your opinion or advice as a husband without him saying "Is it because I didn't go to school" or reminding you of him not being a graduate, there is this inferiority complex they carry around , I'm not cut out for that shiit.

Also I never made mention of one having a degree will make him automatically smart, going to school or being in school is a guide not really what makes you smart.

And these managers own a degree or an NBA? Venture capitalist firms invest on ideas, not certification. Yes, I have also seen investment bankers earn £1m but because they own a Bsc or an NBA? certainly not but because they are very talented and experienced in their respective fields! There are many brokers who earn far more than doctors in the US and we can't deny that as a fact. Now, my point was never to prove that certification is useless (Totally not), I totally support tertiary education. But judging intelligence by certification is completely fallacious. 70% of Americans don't have a college degree and that is a fact yet the best schools in the world are in America, but most job positions don't require a degree so who are the schools for? certainly not for Americans but international students who spend millions of dollars yearly to get a quality education and that is a good revenue stream for the government so why won't they spend a lot to keep the schools running? America is a land of opportunities and a Bsc or NBA is necessary but not required to be successful, you should know better, thank you.

I never said I prefer them because they're intelligent or more successful than their uneducated counterparts. People who couldn't deal with individual choices started the semantics, which I didn't see the need for.

I actually went through your posts, there was something about the initial one I quoted that prompted that. Very few male NLders have caught my interest that way. I'll watch out for you

How about a technical education of the required field you work in? $15, $17,$18,$20, how about with years of experience and technical education? $100k per annum. Your country is messed up, out there no one cares about your degree, as long as you know how to do the job, that makes you qualified. Nigeria is messed up and incredibly corrupt, the reason why a lawyer can be the minister of power and housing. There is a huge difference between being educated and owning a degree, you simply have a flawed mindset of what a dropout should look like. I have a friend who dropped out of a uni in Nigeria because he is too intelligent to be schooled by Nigeria's applauding educational system. He went to a technical school for an IT course in the U.S.A and landed a job with a tech startup in bay area California (Silicon Valley), today he earns about $100k per annum. Of course, if he returns to Nigeria, he will be tagged an illiterate, why? over a worthless piece of paper that can be bought in Nigeria (literally), but in a developed country he's regarded a man of intellect. Back then in school I once had a heating argument with the most intelligent boys in my class, over an incredibly stupid statement. "Airplanes fly with black magic and demons make them fly", believe it or not, there are idiots like this with a first class in Nigeria, graduates who think javascript codes are spells or mathematics, graduates who think it's right for a military man to slap you for answering a phone call at a military checkpoint. You need a man who values education, but a degree? I'm not sure you know the difference.

Why your sister and her husband don't reason alike is a simple case of Individual personality: Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. Same reason you didn't marry a course mate of yours from Northen Nigeria who believes in polygamy. But isn't he educated? You can marry a lawyer and reason alike when it comes to sections of the constitution that should be amended, but not general facts of life.
I know a lady who married a lawyer husband after dating him for 10 years (began dating from sec school), they went to the same uni and graduated the same year. She went to law school and he turned to business trading on woods. Today he's a politician ( I won't mention his name because he is well recognized in Rivers state). This man hits his wife on every slightest provocation, he almost onces strangled her to death over the use of Facebook (He believes a married woman has no business on social media). He once threatened to kill me for aiding refuge to his wife. This is a lawyer husband married to a lawyer wife but thinks he can shoot anyone because he's a politician and nothing will happen. What you simple did here was to combine a number of factors that could make two people compatible and group it under education (the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university.). I'm sure you certainly agree with me on this.

I can see that that's where the problem lies.May i remind you that the view that exam is a test of knowledge is flawed.Best in exam iz not the same as best in class/course.I have seen this myself.Anybody can cram for exams,write and pass.Besides what if you marry a degree holder who after marriage you realize is not as educated as you thought what are you going to do?

Some degree holders are nothing to write home about. Some not all. Likewise some men who didn't complete their tertiary education. It swings both ways.

I graduated from a prestigious university in the west with, Bsc honors, Marine biology. So don't get it twisted. I simply look at the character and mindset of a man, that's after his good looks ,.
