Bro, there is nothing like loosing value...its just a paradigm shift in technology, if we go by your mentality then scrolls and stone tablets of the Jews have lost value too. The Bible is the word of God and it doesn't state it must be written on paper

to me if you are sincere about using the Bible app alone, no problem using it but most members use the Bible app and at the same time doing something else, so it's distracting.

So when the bible was changed from ancients stone tablet to book form why didnt u complain?

My problem with Christianity is that it sees everything as a problem meanwhile is has solved nothing since its existence.

The bible is not the word of God...the creator(s) of this word if the is one or many, cannot semd us down an ancient jewish book as the only of knowing it/them.

When ur great grand children come into this world they will still foolishly hold the veiw that God wrote an e book for them.

My friend I pray for you. Don't put your finger in God's eyes. It's a fast track to destruction.

I am not against pastors using a tablet, rather replacing the physical bible with a tablet in the pulpit

As the pastor enters the pulpit to bring the word of God to the people of God, no hard copy of the bible is found in his hand, gracing the top of the podium visible to the entire congregation as the book at the center of attention, instead the congregation sees a tablet.

I believe there are several potential dangers this subtle shift generates.

The Bible is the Bible no matter the medium where it's content is, the concern is people don't even study what's in it.

OP you are not being sincere. From the time of Moses till now, things are changing. it used to be in stone tablets then it changed to scroll, later to Bible and now the Bible has been loaded into modern gadgets. The content is the same. Why worry your good self. If you don't like reading from the phone tablet, then get your copy of the Bible. All join

Parchment - Scrolls - Paper books - Tablets.

The medium may have changed, but the word of God remains the same.

Did you know that before paper became main stream in the primary school there were people that were against it. They argued that not learning to write with traditional chalk board given to pupil in primary school will cause distraction and make the children loose out on an important aspect of learning.

I am sure you were aware that if we have to keep things as they were most of the old testament at least the ten commandments should be in stone tablet. grin

I know change maybe scary and unsettling a times but it is important in human development. I don't see anything wrong in using tablet with your Bible in it. For those that says it leads to distract even before tablet there are people that still get distracted in church.

Bible is a history book.

Written by Europeans.

The word Bible means 66 in Hebrew language.

The scriptures were written in manuscripts ...they were written in tablets ....later transferred to paper ....now its transferred to digital
All these while the power from the word has being constant.
The transfer didn't take away God's spoken word nor the ability to work wonders
Why bother about the means its carried
You should be bother if it is lacking power from the person speaking it

i tire. In the days of old, the scriptures was written in scroll , as times goes by, it was printed on paper, d most important thing is the content, it doesnt matter if its printed on on tablet

There is absolutely nothing wrong with making use of your bible on an iPad.

In fact God does not expect the bible to be with us as a physical copy. He wants his words to become one with our hearts and minds and not in a book or even on an iPad.

Jesus who is the word, the bible said HE WAS MADE FLESH and dwelt among us. Jesus did not make use of any written material to teach except when he read from the scrolls in order to confirm the prophecy about him.

We are supposed to be LIVING EPISTLES READ OF MEN. Let's begin to LIVE THE WORD and not just READ THE WORD. BE YE DOERS OF THE WORD AND NOT HEARERS ONLY DECEIVING OURSELVES.

When you consider a mechanical engineer or any other professional who studied from books, their study entails making their training a part of them and they do not need to refer to their training manual IF THEY ARE WELL TRAINED they simply just physically act as they were taught. Same should it be with the bible and us. LET THE WORD OF GOD DWELL RICHLY IN YOU IN ALL WISDOM.

Colossians 3: 16

Part of the Bible, the ten commandments was written on tablets of stones. Thereafter parchment of animal skin was used in written the Bible, then the scroll. Thereafter with the availability of printing presses portable volumes of the Bible were printed and distributed widely to spread the word of God. Now the most convenient way of making the word of God universally available and in portable format is electronically, hence in soft copy.

So the word is the most important thing whether in hard copy or soft copy. Reading it regularly and applying it in our lives is of uppermost importance.

Papiikush:

You are just delusional. Same goes to many people on this thread

If you want to prove a point at least don't make a fool out of yourself while at it.

Books are also results of science (technology). Back in those days (BC) words and memos were written on BOARDS (or books made from animal flesh)

It is not about the means of reading the word of God, it is about how you use the "Words" written in the Bible. (Study to show thyself approved)

"I shall meditate on it day and night" (Knowing the word and how to use it)

Those movies where you see pastors cast out Demons with a bible are just plain stupìd.

You don't need a bible to cast out Demons, you need to activate the word of God implanted in you (which you studied and approved).

Don't be too forward to make fun of yourself next time sir

Preach it! Bishop Papiikush grin

Its called evolution........ who told you bible was initially written in that format of paper booklet., from history bible scriptures were first written on stone slate, then later on plant balk and animal skins before the invention of paper and then the paper where bulky with bible scriptures scattered untidy it was then rearranged only around twelfth century when the paper we know today became popular as a writing material.

That paper you know today is a technology that displaced some ancient technology of keeping records, now the electronic tablets are taking over. Just learn to live with it.

The only reasonable thing that could be done now is to develop a device dedicated only to bible scriptures application so as to retain the integrity of the scriptures and not deviate to the worldly things when in church.

Moses wrote the 10 commandments on a tablet of stones..

So the original text was not on paper.
