[quote author=Dancingpotato post=61878845]good afternoon house, pls I need official TOEFL email address I can use to contact them, I have issues with my ordered score, and the school hasn't receive it. I tried searching for email and there are lot of them, I don't know the one to use, someone should help me pls. thank you[/quote

Why not send your school the PDF copy instead of waiting for ets? Go to your page, download the PDF copy and mail it to your school. If you still want to send a mail try toefl@ets.org or go to the site and click contact

Mind you, if your result was released on the 24th. The PDF copy will be available after 3 working days and that's also when they send your scores to your school. So wait till Monday/Tuesday before making any complaints

Hello guys, this has been a very interesting thread so far. I thank everyone who has contributed to the success of this thread, you all don't know the great work you are doing and how many lives have been blessed by your act of kindness.

I would like to study in the US. I am 22years of age and I want to study at Utah Valley University. I have my waec certification and other documents relating to my high school. The problem here is that I don't have the means to sit for SAT and I would love to go for TOEFL alone. I have 2 sisters in the US and an Uncle in Nigeria who are ready to sponsor my education.

My questions are..

1) Is it possible to be granted a Visa without sitting for SAT, even if the school didn't ask for it?

2) What are my chances of getting approved, due to my age and other things I mentioned above?

3) I am really new to this and I wouldn't want to make any mistakes. If there are any tips or advice you could add it will be deeply appreciated. Thank you once again.

1) Yes you will be granted a visa if the VO sees u as a genuine student. SAT doesn't affect your interview.

2)your age isn't an issue for admission if your documents are complete and valid

3)Tips&Advice: If your sisters belong to the Alakija family or your school doesn't require SAT to grant scholarships then don't write it. If not, then make things easier for yourself.

Yes. I must attend the orientation which means I have to leave before that 10th January. My complaint is that while booking for my visa appointment, I selected departure for 10th January not knowing that date was for new freshers orientation. My mind had always been on 17th January, 2018 being the resumption date.
LagosismyHome:

if your school has a compulsory orientation then you should be working toward attending which means travelling before and not on that date

Please house, I just noticed something. While I was booking my visa appointment, I noted that I will like to depart Nigeria on the 10th of January, 2018. However, I was just reviewing my I-20 now only to discover that 10th January is stated for compulsory Orientation for Freshers/ New students. I wish to know if there is a problem with this? Thank you.

Please what were the available dates still free

US student visa used to be the easiest as long as you had your admission letter until the bad students spoilt the bridge...now we have to explain and swear that we are genuine before visa is granted to us.i just pray the VOs could turn their mind and believe that genuine students still exist...God help us all

As of Thursday 6pm when I booked my appointment, from 4th December was open for booking in Lagos, Nigeria. I do not have any other form of information afterwards and I didn't check Abuja. I chose Lagos because its very close to my office in VI. But like many have advised. I will advise you make your booking earlier enough as this is a festive season and most persons would want to travel for vacation and so on there by making more dates to become unavailable as the day unfolds. I wish us all the best.

Hello guys I'm a young man in his early 20's and just got a BSc in psychology in Nigeria... I wanted to further to specialize in clinical psychology but i discovered I'm not really interested... My interest lies in the medical field and I'm thinking of switching... Although my o'level isn't science originated which i think could pose a problem. But i recently read online that anyone from any background could study medicine, physician assistance or nursing provided he/she passes the prerequisites in form of pre-med, pre-nursing in the USA etc... Please how true is this as I require an honest advice if possible from someone who has gone through it....

Hello gurus in the house
I want to pay for my visa fee tomorrow and book visa appointment as y'all said time is running out. However, I'm yet to receive my I20, although the school has sent my Sevis ID and school code. I don't want to make any mistake while filling my DS 160 form because I don't have certain information which is contained in the I20 form. Can I book an appointment by using the application ID of the DS 160 without submitting it and submit it when my I20 arrives? Thanks in anticipation

So are you saying the visa application would not be successful because I am applying for a pathway program? I thought pathway was also for people with low gre scores (whether quant or verbal deficiency) like predegree we have in nigeria.

I said spring because my sponsor would not agree to wait till next year fall so it's either now or bye bye to it

YOU ALREADY HAVE A MASTERS DEGREE FROM A UK INSTITUTION, SO THAT WILL MAKE ANYONE QUESTION WHY YOU'RE DOING A PATHWAY GRADUATE PROGRAM IN THE US.

Your question is bogus

I had to read thru your profile to figure that you are going for an undergrad prog in engineering.

Well.. take the SAT
Mississippi Valley State University & other HBCU offer full rides to alot of Nigerian students.

Graduate Pathway programs are ideal for international students who need additional English language

you are not only from an English speaking country Nigeria you also states you have a master from UK (another english speaking country ) .

Which kind yeye agent advice you to this, that agent no know e work. this move is like going to the embassy just to dash them your application fee. This is highly not advisable in my opinion . if you are late for spring then simple, work towards another semester. if your sponsor cannot wait the option to apply to any program is stiĺ not the best because that might just be another rejection added to your record which you really don't need after 4 times

@LAGOSISMYHOME THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TRYING TO COMMUNICATE! AGENTS JUST WANT MONEY WITHOUT REGARD TO SOMEONE WASTING THEIR TIME AND EFFORT.

Hello
As a 19 years old boy, can I present my bank statement at the embassy even though I will be telling the VO my parents are sponsoring me?

My parent have valuable properties with low inflow (Low account balance now, they spent on my elderlys of recent) at the moment, but my account is very much better. Can I present my account even though my parents are sponsoring me?

Vo: who's sponsoring you?
Me: My parents
Vo: What do they do?
Me: Dad is the director of.......
...,...Mum owns a........
Vo: Can I see your Bank Statement?

Then she sees it's my account statement am presenting.,..

Am thinking am too young to say am sponsoring myself

I totally understand you but a pathway program is not just because of the english requirement or proficiency. There are different reasons for an indivindividual to undertake the pathway program. If for instance the undergraduate gpa is low (and I fall into this category), one can do a pathway program to gain admission. I'll try to convince the VO, otherwise I'd reapply again later. Afterall, there is no harm in trying smiley
