I think people don't understand that there's a system to good living out in the West, and the name of that system is Credit.

People are too used to the Nigerian system of cash transactions. That's why they're shouting savings savings upandan on that thread.

Not saying the savings are not important, but you need to be in tune with how the West run things, and you will definitely prosper.

Just a headsup to any of you planing to make the move. Obtaining a good credit score should be at the top of your to-do list, and you must be prepared to guard your credit rating with your life.

I can't emphasise it enough.

Good Credit Rating is the key to experiencing all that western countries have to offer.

Anyways the koko be say you make sure you meet Ur obligations at all time and not default. That way ur credit rating is very tight and you can have easier access to more loans whenever you need it. Burr...if you be Oni gbese wey refuse to service your loans on time and a serial defaulter,your credit ratings drops drastically to a point you cant borrow to buy even a pencil.

Honestly , for this my small life , debt na one thing wey dey gimme nightmare. I no sabi owe gbese. If I borrow at all paying up go become screensaver for my mind.

In the last 3yrs I have seen many bank managers, People in Banks AM and above in Nigeria that relocated to Yankee and wont mind doing this menial job even some people who are on 9-13M a year in Nigeria

All those people lamenting on that thread, if you tell them you will give them an American visa for 1 week and collect 2M Naira they will all drop the money and flee

Funny part is most branches are not even run by AMs and above these days...ABOs and BOs are managing branches well. Even the so called AMs self don't make as much money as those people in that thread will have you believe.
