Energy cackled in the chamber bathing the whole place with the two different colors that represents the opposing forces. While the Arc priest was surrounded by a circle of emerald green energy giving off tendrils of lightning, Mibazar was surrounded by a purple nimbus of light, pulsing and blazing like the flames of a forge oven.
Achron took up his staff and pointed it at the high priest, a flame colored light flashed at Mibazar which dissipated as it touched the purple nimbus. Mibazar brought his palms together and slowly drew them apart making a circle. Within the circlet churned a red colored flame rolling at great speed. He opened his palm immediately pointed at Achron. The red flames flew at the Arc priest, hitting repeatedly at the emerald circle surrounding him till the circle winked out and the flame hit him. It washed over his body till with a turning of his staff he manipulated the red flame turning it to create a vortex, rolling in the air before him. As he stopped turning the staff he pointed it at the high priest. The red flames was directed at him, as the flames got to him it hit the purple energy nimbus around him, circled it once then died off.
“Unfortunately for you Mibazar, I know the secret of your red flames and its accompany poisoning, heard you taught that secret to your pathetic faithful lackey, Khaufir.” Achron said with a tight smile. “Your red flames can't hurt me, I can also control it. “

Mibazar gave no retort as he was busy meditating, preparing another spell. The air around the high priest darkened, it seems to ripple. The purple nimbus around him took on a darker shade and became black. Which completely enveloped him in a sphere cocoon of blackness. From the blackness long tendrils shot out and attacked the Arc priest. Achron quickly erected a shield of solid green energy which deflected the attacking black tendrils. The tendrils were knocked back but went up, twisting in a prehensile move, like a living creeper plant, the tendrils descended and attacked the Arc priest again, so fast and unexpected that he couldn’t throw up a shield to protect himself on time. The tendrils wrapped him, totally encapsulating him in tick black ropes of energy. The tendrils lifted him off the floor into the air.
Sudden arcane words of power burst from the Arc priest despite being totally covered. As then a bright green light burst from him and the tendrils vanished under its intense blaze
“That was a good one Mibazar, caught me off guard. “ The Arc priest said as he gently levitated to the floor. “You are turning out to became quite a challenge. “
Lifting his staff, he hit the head at the ground which caused the ground to cracked in an uneven line with green blaze showing from below the cracks. The cracks headed for Mibazar. As it got to him, the floor under the high priest exploded upward pushing the priest high into the air. Fiery magma like a volcano erupting shot up from the exploded area heading to the air where Mibazar was thrown. Mibazar still had the black nimbus surrounding him, which deflected the pieces of stones the explosion threw at him but he was unsure if same will protect him from the boiling magma coming across his way. Firstly he created a levitation spell to to help him float on the air so he can move swiftly away from the point the magma was headed . He flew high and to the side of the attacking semi liquid scalding rocks. But he suspected that might not be enough so he prepared another spell. He moved a little distance through the air and landed. The magma also changed direction, moving it followed the part he took through the air.

As soon as Mibazar’s feet touched the ground, his hand were already forming the signs for a complicated spell. Fierce wind blew like a cyclone round the priest drawing on intense cold creating hoary frost around the whirling breeze. With directions from the high priest, the almost icy wind around him moved in a circular motion to intercept the coming magma. There was a loud hiss and heavy steam when both the magma and icy wind met. Still the wind continued till the mage was frozen on its part through the air. Its move halted, it dropped to the ground and shattered into thousands of pieces of stones when it hit the floor.
The whirling cyclone turned towards the Arc priest and started blowing round him until the Arc priest became encased in solid ice. Then the wind ceased. Just as soon as the wind stopped, the ice started to melt and form a dirty poodle around Achron’s feet when it all melted.
The black nimbus around Mibazar glowed darker then expanded a bit from the high priest. With a little command, black energy construct started to appear from the black circle. The construct were in the shapes of giant hands holding swords, axes, mace with ball ends having spikes and a flail. The giant black hands obeying the command from Mibazar, the limbs elongated holding the weapons as they attacked the Arc priest.

The Arc priest calmly started tracing invisible lines in the air that suddenly started appearing as glowing glyphs. As the written words rearranged and aligned then flashed and formed an energy weaved lines shield around him. The shield deflected the initial blows from the dark energy hands and weapons but that didn’t stop their attacks as they turned back and attacked again, the shield again blocked their attacks.
“I’m actually getting impressed. Your dark matter manipulation is quite steady and potent. “ Achron laughed without any sign of mirth. “You really must have paid attention in class as this is one of the most difficult aspects of priesthood power to master.”
“Well I think you need to be taken to class again. “ With the shield still on, he held his staff with one hand and ran the other hand over the jewel at the head. “Let me give you an instruction on matter transmutation. “

Two of the pillars within the place glowed and started to break. A section about the size of twice a man broke away and started to take on an anthropomorphic shape. Hands, legs and a round faceless head. The two stone man like shapes moved shabbily and headed for the high priest. Mibazar saw the two stone golem coming at he, with a wave of his hand, a long black solid energy lance hit both the stone golem, knocked them off their feet and they hit the ground with a huge resounding thud. As the two golem fell, other parts from the pillars broke off and began to form other golem. Mibazar knew he had to temporarily give his attention to the stone creatures because they only have the ability to penetrate his black nimbus. He directed the black energy construct to attack the golem. Black hands holding weapons attacked them and the golem fought back. There were clashes between stone weapons and black energy construct devices. The place shook and reverberated from the impacts but soon the stone golem began to crumble as the black constructs multiplied and started hitting the golem from all sides causing them to break into pieces. And those broken down did not get up again.
Mibazar realized it was already too late. The few moments he had focused on the golem had given the Arc priest enough time to prepare the appropriate attack. He was right as Achron shot him from behind with a concentrated green light that knocked on the dark nimbus, it was halted a bit by the black circle but the continual blast broke the circle, and knocked the high priest off his feet and he smashed on one of the chair around the council table. Mibazar fell, with several bruises on his body bleeding red blood.
As he tried to stand, he felt his feet give way under him having spin an ankle and he fell on the floor again. His breathing coming out in painful spurts reveals lung injuries and broken ribs.

Achron seem overly confident... I am beginning to wonder if Achron and Ruel are the same person...or Ruel probably be that quiet old man who went to summon the high priest.

I should observe quietly for I have never able to predict Apollux since I start reading this his story!

Apollux i was thinking u do start the fight by letting the arch priest have the advantage first then you bring in the trick that the high priest would probably use to give him a deadly blow. remember not kill o. but any how u narrate it is still ok. my opinion though

Hahahahahahaha trust me the end result of the fight will shock eveeyone here.... I'm keeping that a secret. Infact that is the biggest secret of this whole story

Let me conjecture,the high priest will run for his life,Jarrael will eventually be the one to kill mibazar as a result of injuries he had sustained from achron.what I don't know is what will be the lot of achron.

Sorry for the lack of updates o, light has been a serious challenge. I was able to charge my tab yesterday. So I'm typing a little update at the moment. May update when I finish later.

His mind was reeling at the pains wrecking his body. While preparing for another spell, he lifted his head and saw Achron watching him with a mocking smile. The Arc priest was taking leisurely steps towards him as if he no longer bother about anything. Mibazar felt the anger blazed in him afresh. Achron will be sorely surprised when he will discover that he is far from being defeated, this fight is not over. Mibazar still has a final trick that will shock that pompous and proud Arc priest, he is prepared to wipe that arrogant snort from his face. He knew his body was broken but that is hardly a problem. He had taught Khaufir the advance method of bodily tissue repair. The only difference was Khaufir had gotten addicted to that spell that in the end he was almost a zombified man, half dead and half alive. He will be almost impossible to kill. But as for Mibazar he didn’t sink that low yet still he can repair himself. He had stolen the secret from the white pages of Codex Sacratus, the holy book of the white hand coven whose unique ability is the creation of healing spells. While Mibazar can’t really generate healing spells, as any spell woven by the white hands are highly proscribed by those of the order of Nemphis priesthood, still he had learnt a thing or two from the basic principles.
His hand glowing purple then turning dark, Mibazar closed his eyes in deep concentration, as he moved the hand covered in black circle of energy over his body. He felt his inner injuries healing and the broken bones mending.

“Interesting. As I saw you seriously injured, I held back my wrath just to watch what you will do next. “ Achron stood looking down on the kneeling high priest. “I would have found this fascinating if I still had the scholarly interest and the inquisitive mind of my youth. Well this won’t be enough to help you. The little accursed spell of the white hands you just mimicked won’t be enough to save you. “
Mibazar didn’t allow any of what the Arc priest was saying to get to him. As soon as he felt himself sufficiently mended, he released a wide blast of lightning bolts. The bolts hit Achron at first pushing him back till he raised a shield that disperse the bolts as they struck around the walls and pillars still left standing.
“Good. Now that you are back on your feet, I suggest we throw away these childish trickery spells and confront each other with raw power, this will determine the one who is truly powerful. “ Achron clapped his hands together. With a complex hand movement and finger signs he spoke a word that caused a bright flash of emerald energy to start revolving round him blazing and generating heat. As the energy continued to build, Achron was lifted up from the floor and was standing in the air as the green globe of energy covered him.

Mibazar also did his own arcane hand symbols and a nimbus of purple energy appeared round him. As the purple energy began to increase, it darkened and became a black colored one with bright purple flashes at its edges. Same as the Arc priest, Mibazar was lifted up from the ground to float midair as the dark nimbus formed around him as the purple radiance continued to blaze.
Achron stretch his two hands and a huge raw blast of green energy shot at the floating high priest in the halo of dark energy. Mibazar also sent an equal blast of dark energy at the Arc priest on an intercept part. Both energy met midway between the two fighters and exploded on contact. The explosion shook the very foundation of the tower, if not for the external shield surrounding the building, the tower would have been blasted to rubble. But the shield held the tower together. The sound from the explosion rumbled and cause a small size quake that shook most of the city of the black tower. As the two energies collided, instead of them cancelling each other out, they held on to each other in a sustained steady blaze, hitting and creating continuous explosions. The green blaze from the Arc priest and black purple energy from the high priest, hit on each other pushing on each other, been controlled by the will of their masters, pressing on each other to gain ground. From the point of impact of the two energies, arcs of destructive power flew around the chamber which disintegrated anything they came in contact with, both green and black, breaking down pillars, crumbling walls and shattering the polished marble floors. The onslaught of clashing energies were creating a deadly whirlpool of energy spinning too fast for the eyes to follow and destroying everything in their parts. Only the massive statue of Nemphis and the power throne seem immune to the devastation.

The barrage kept on till both combatants couldn’t continue to sustain the release of such amount of energy. Suddenly the energies winked out and both the Arc priest and high priest fell on the shattered paved floor. Both of them weakened by sheer exhaustion, stayed down for a while, lying prone with debilitating weakness holding sway on every of their joints and limbs.
Mibazar struggled through the fatigue wrapping all round his mind and body like the silky Web from a red tailed tree arachnid, knowing if there is the thinnest hope of him winning this conflict, he can only take that advantage now. He had deliberately goad Achron to this climax, so he will be forced to unleash raw magical power and he will be also have to respond. He knew that the direct use of such power will leave them both exhausted and depleted. This is the only chance he can really inflict a mortal wound on his opponent.

Following

His right had jerked unsteadily with the effort Mibazar used to move it towards his neck. He pushed aside the fold of the robe around there and reach for a tiny chain on his neck that the high collar of his robe prevented from been seen. The chain has a locket attached to it which contains a very potent magical liquid. He wished that liquid could heal him immediately and restore him to full strength. Unfortunately, healing draught don’t work on the priests of Nemphis, the clerical power that runs through the body of the priests negate the spells of life that the healing magic are made from. This liquid in the secret locket is to give him an energy burst for a short time, enough to build up spell that Achron in his weakened state will have no defense against. He felt his whole body been jolted like a bolt of lightning traveling through his being, his eyes blazed and purple energy ran through his body. Instantly he was on his feet and he saw the Arc still squirming on the floor trying to overcome the weariness that have weakened him.
Achron’s face turned from the lines of lethargy that sagged the flesh to one of surprise then pure dread. Mibazar stood on his feet and worked with quickness cognizant of the limited time the effects of this liquid will last. Concentrating on the powers building up inside him, he caused the purple aura around him to turn black. The black halo that surround him started to form into solid constructs of dark energy.
All that filled the high priest’s heart as he watched his lord in his weakened state, was disgust and anger, he didn’t see it worthy to say anything. With a mental will, the dark energy construct took the form of sharp long spikes, elongated and moved towards the trembling Arc priest. All he could say was “What? “ before the energy spikes punctured his body, cutting through the heart, lungs and his neck. As the dark energy spikes punctured Achron’s flesh, blood spurts poured out from everywhere that were punctured. As the Arc priest trashed on the floor in his pool of blood writhing in pains, Mibazar prepared another spell, his two hands blazed red as he raised them. Red flames flashed from his hands and poured on the Arc priest, covering the dying body and engulfing it in a reddish pyre.
Very unfortunate the Arc priest had to die this way, squiggling in shame, Mibazar thought sadly as he turned away from the burning body.
