Funny, he said you will be poor if you don't pay tithes, but most of the men on Forbe list do not pay tithes. You can't even get to Forbe list if you pay tithes, you can't be giving 10% of your wealth to church and still be able to compete with those that don't.

the answer to your first question is you give anything that's worth something to you(that you aint in need of) to a person who's in need... Then to your second question, it's just nature(that's how GOD designed it)! You don't have to be a christian for it to work for you.

I still don't get it when someone says we shouldn't be bothered about what the pastor does with tithes and offering money. I believe the pastor is both accountable before God and man. I can't give you my money and not know what you've done with it simply because it's for a religious purpose.. How will I know you haven't squandered it?! It's not just a matter of receiving grace alone, but the money given should be well accounted for and be used for what exactly it's to be used for..

And it's a pity we live in a country were dedicated Christians measure the blessings of their pastors by material things.

Daddy Freeze may not be wholly correct, but what he says has truth in it.. He's merely calling for pastors to be accountable and Church dealings to be transparent. Even in the old testament, everyone knew how animals brought for sacrifices in the temples were treated (what part to be burnt, what part goes to the priest, how the priest was to burn it and other things like that).

So I don't feel it's a big deal if church members know what and what their tithes and offerings are used for exactly.

Be informed, a number of non Christians pay tithes, I currently have a friend who never jokes with tithing even though he's not a Christian. The reason is simple, they are cognizant of the multiplier effects of the action in their finances.

But, really, tithing or not shouldn't be as controversial as you take it. If you think it works for you, do it, and if you think it doesn't, so be it.

But I know the end we justify the means.

Tithe isn't a community or constituency project. So why exactly do you expect people to announce to you when they do? It's personal.
