that depends on you.. It depends on how busy you are.. Like in my place presently, we always switch off our light (since it's prepaid) in the morning around 8am cuz our line is always empty during the day and we put it on again in the evening when everyone is back at home like around 6 or 7 pm.. And last i witnessed recharged was 40 cedis for three weeks now. If it's gonna be just you, you can decide on your light.. Most houses have prepaid installed. So you can even be at home sometimes and decide to switch your electricity off to save money and others.. So the price, everything is in your hand to control my brother.
Thanks for the info

Filling stations are owned by Nigerians who are free to belong to any groups or association they choose some of them are not involved in politics. These are the people that hoard fuel in times of scarcity and tamper with meters. This is not saying politics hasn't reared its ugly head in the issue if fuel marketing and distribution but the individuals involved remain citizens of the country. No FG will instigate fuel scarcity because it works against any ruling govt

Who are these cultists and badoos, are they all politicians? Are they not also youths in cultism, badoos, etc when someone leaving secondary school wants to build house immediately and buy 2017 model cars after 6months of graduation, what do you expect "make we just make am any how" reigns supreme

I understand that you are frustrated but it's not solely the government frustrating you, it's your desire for easy luxury without work that's your problem.
Re: Relocating To Ghana: Kumasi Or Accra Please Advice by londoner: 9:53am On Nov 03, 2017
Op those that use meters in Nigeria also have more constant electricity. I do believe currently kidnapping, Boko Haram are not as much an issue as before and it does not affect every region. Even with bombings in UK, France and the US I doubt you would refuse to move there even from Ghana, your new found paradise.

One of the greatest differences you would have noticed is the behaviour of the actual common man in Ghana.....if the common man in Nigeria could change his/her mindset and values there would be a different Nigeria. The problem is not just the politicians to be honest.

I'm sure he will pretend not to notice this, throughout his post all we see is complaints but he enters another country and as expected from someone like him he didn't notice the difference in attitude of ordinary people living there. OP, what's your take on the average Ghanaian and their attitude generally?

mrs government advocate.. So na ordinary people dey that NNPC wey dey distribute the petrol? If the stations get their hands on enough distribution, why on earth would they hoard, hun? And you said if it's in Nigeria, some people won't turn off their meter bla bla bla.. Now your reasoning is fast becoming something else.. So go ahead and do a survey in wherever city you are in and count all the houses that use a prepaid meter. Then come back here to say something reasonable. And maybe you have a plan to run for a political post in the future or whatever or you just enjoy spewing trash thinking you are a good advocate i don't know but i'm done with your mentions.. bros, are you minding her.. She's probably paid or her father or ma is a politifchian. Protecting those criminals should be a criminal offence in Nigeria.. The last time i read a newspaper and i saw where a minister in japan has to bow for like minutes just to apologize because there was lights out in a community not in the big city in japan oooo... In Nigeria, electricity is a thing we jubiliate and thank God for whenever it's brought. It's a shameful act.. Then you'd see children running around the street shouting 'up nepa' upandan.

I asked you a question that you have been dodging "What is your perception about the attitude of ordinary Ghanians you meet on a daily basis?" Why can't you answer this simple question

For those that have meter, how many people switch off light to conserve energy as it is done in Ghana, have you ever heard a Nigerian say hr switches off his meter when he isn't at home?

Now you are running from responding because you've refused to face the fact.

For some reason your thinking is constantly on default mode, it's almost like you have fed yourself with so much negativity, it will take a major resetting to jolt you back to normal reasoning. This is how people are able to manipulate those suicide bombers by feeding them a certain info alone hence they are easy to manipulate. As you are reading negative news look for positive ones to read too so that you can have a balanced view

So politicians are foreigners from another country? They are no longer products of our society, FYI the only thing that differenciates you from a politician is a simple membersh card.

You have successfully confirmed the lack of moral standard in the country. As a graduate is it compulsory to wait for government jobs and if such job is not forth coming your next option is crime because this is what you are prone to do already, it is what you learnt from your background. So because you don't have govt job the next option for you is terrorism and political thuggery

Is it not the same govt job that you are complaining of being owed, how come it's still attractive to you? After qualifying as a medical doctor is it only govt hospitals that can offer doctors jobs in Nigeria, what of private hospitals or academic institutions both private and govt, charity organizations abound who require your services too.

I hope everyone can see the level of hypocrisy going on here, if this OP was in Nigeria will he ever switch off his prepaid meter to conserve light when it's not in use? Why is it that people behave unreasonably in Nigeria but comport themselves well abroad her they will not waste time in condemning our country, OP it is you, Mr and everyone else living in Nigeria that will make it better, the number one cause of our problem remains unpatriotism, we don't value our own.
conserve light or save money? Oh, the OP will deliberately waste his money leaving the meter on if he was in Nigeria.

I will like to share my view about living in GH. am a staff at the ECOWAS commission( immigration section) so this makes me do a lot of traveling within the subregion but I choose Ghana (cape coast precisely) to settle my family (wife, kids&young bro) in based on lots of personal factors. I see Ghana as the ideal anglophone state in the region to live in. mind you, the country also has its own down sides but its far better than my fatherland NAIJA ! from security of lives & properties, to access to basic social amenities and standard of education not forgetting enjoying good social life without the fear of been harassed.
The honest truth is that cost of living in Ghana generally is higher than naija. rent is expensive, cost of petrol (diesel, LPG inclusive)is higher, food is also expensive, cost of utilities are up lately( but you get to use them 24/7). since my family moved to our house, my wife has never complained of taps not running for a day since 2012(water supply by govt outfit) neither have I witness any. when it rains, the lights are never off excepts when it comes with wind storms and after the storm, light is restored. if there is gonna be maintenance on the mains, there will be announcement from the information centres to the communities that will be affected.

I get to drive all night from cape coast to tamale and further north to navrogo without fear of attack on smooth roads.
As for op, you took a good decision to try experience a new country but in a wrong way. I will explain in my next post.
I got to leave the office now and attend a dinner and grand ball events at Novotel hotels just 2 streets away from the office here in Freetown.
