I believe the best route is to reschedule for another appointment and come clean. The generic reply seems to be worthless now and I won't advise your wife to put through all the stress of traveling and getting there only to be turned back. There's a likely hood she might get through without this but I'm all for coming clean and taking your chances here rather than getting embarrassed in another man's land. My two cents though
reschedule or reapply?
once visa is issued, you can't reschedule.
and to reapply...hmmm....automatically cancels the existing visa and earliest interview date is thereabouts Jan 10. ..that'll be too late as edd is end of Jan. no airline will carry such a pregy lady

My point exactly, nothing remains hidden forever under the sun
baddo:

You perspective
1. You found the hospital yourself through researching right? No one gave you the info for free.
2. You want to share. It's your right to share as long as you don't default on the rules of the forum.

Me perspective
a) I found the hospital by myself through researching, no one gave me this info for free
b) I don't want to share. It is my right not to share as long as I don't default on the rules of the forum.

Honestly by sharing or not sharing this info will be sought and most likely will be found. I just rather we all do more discovering rather that be like the lost men in mad max fury where at the end of civilization they eat up available resources before they go in search of new resource.

Hello people just in case you are traveling local flights to connect with your international flights...e.g from Abuja to Lagos.

The local air lines don't allow you fly over 30 weeks,
within the country....
While international air lines go as far as 36 weeks.

Our local flights average 1 hour... not up to a regular Nigerian movie some may sit to watch.

Do you think they are trying to reduce the number of persons that deliver outside the country...because if a pregnant woman is at risk to fly for 45 mins - 1hour at30 weeks, are they safer to go on a whole day's journey on rough, bumpy, dangerous roads to same destination?

Nope.... is just airline policy. Even if you are travelling from lagos to owerri. They just can't afford to handle any emergency above that 30wks.

So sorry about the denial. In my opinion, i think you should have just come clean about giving your child a dual citizenship, something the UK doesn't offer. It shows truthfulness because that's exactly the response the two VOs were expecting from you.
If you still have time, you can reapply for interview dates in January and look the VO in the face to proclaim it. You can afford it and it's not a crime.

Yep, you're right.

The US visa officers already know that's the primary reason why most if not all decides to give birth in the US.

Please if u did drop box y did u av to schedule an appointment n den was given ur visas without an interview?

oyibo4real:

This recent denial in dropbox renewal is not funny anymore, we need to sit up and do things the right way. I can still remember my experience during my first Visa application. The agent my hubby was using insisted I should conceal my pregnancy, if not we'll be denied cos our passports were all Virgins. But Based on what I've been reading/hearing on nairaland, I insisted I MUST say the truth, despite the fact that our DS 160 had already been filled for bussiness/tourism purpose. The agent got angry and said we shouldn't blame her if our visas were not granted, infact she practically ''hands off"(cos according to her, my 'i too know' was becoming unbearable, besides she had collected her full agency fee). I continued from where she stopped, and noted all the mistakes she made on our forms. On the day of interview, the moment the VO asked our purpose of travelling, I reported mysef sharperly that we're all going for my birthing/vacation n the VO was SURPRISED cos she never knew I was pregnant. Our visas were granted without drilling of any kind( infact I still believe/know we got it cos of my honesty)

Fast forward to 2nd week of September this year, we did our dropbox renewal, four of us again (myself, hubby, my bro in law of 19 yrs n our 3yr old son) and we were all given without being called for interview of any sort cos I applied for B2 this time.( I filled all the forms myself and also scheduled the appointment without paying any shishi to any agent)

The summary of this my long talk is the need to say the truth at all times. Even if you get denied, there's this joy/satisfaction u feel within you that at least you did your best, you'll be proud n bold to reapply again without fear. Infact i personally would prefer to fill B2 for business/tourism so that it'll be noted in their system that i may still use the visa for medical purpose if the need arises in the future. (Of course i'll explain myself during the interview). The idea of applying twice within 2yrs just to declare another intention that wasn't formerly stated, hmmmm; I can't deal.

I know someone will learn one or two things from this. My 2cents though, #okbye

Though your question isn't clear enough, I'll try n answer based on wat I understood.

Dropbox does not automatically exempt you from scheduling appointment, it is thru the appointment that you can either be called for further interview or be granted visas without being called. To qualify for Dropbox, u must meet certain criteria. Kindly click d link below for more clarification.

Just my thoughts

When they say do not take discounts or any form of aid, some still go ahead to register for WIC. Collecting something that is not your right and expecting nothing to happen is just wrong. You gave your info when registering for the AID so when they run a search, it would easily come up.

Please dont collect what does not belong to you!!!

Thanks. Just thinking aloud, could it be that some hosps ve been blacklisted? Then the community hosp things, more of govt hosp abi Me, i just think in our shopping and scouting for cheap deals, we shld be careful of deals too gud to be true so that these VOs dont just start turning down any quote unreasonably low. Like someone posted earlier, soem hosp may be fraudulently passing on teh bills to govt or medicaid.

@Ugoguchy, if ur journey isnot that important, maybe you shld hold on and apply after a while, say like 6 months, and hopefully another VO will see things in a diff perspective.
