Me thinks it's not good enough.
Between 15.8 & 16 would have been better by my thinking

there is no difference O..

there is no reason whatsoever to wait 14days to buy a full 364day tenor when you can walk into a bank now and ask for the longest tenor available and see if you like the rate..

primary market DOES NOT GIVE BETTER RATES.
you’re right my brother the only advantage i see primary has over secondary is that it can be rolled over.that’s all

Please I plan on buying Tbills, UBA says I need to submit a formal request not later than Monday to qualify for the weeks bid. I have no idea what their rates are yet for a 91day tenor, but I guess it should be around 13%. My immediate worry is how soon can I get the T Bills certificate if the bid sails through? also if I allow UBA autobid for me, can I be confident that they would indeed give me the best rate compared to me quoting my own bid rate in my request letter?

currently, what bank has the best bid rate?

buy from secondary market (open market offers)

you will see the rate before you fill form.

you can also choose to go for a slightly longer period with higher rate.

no need to wait for primary market

Thanks alot. Lol I assumed the secondary market was some sort of special establishment, now it is clearer. One more thing, do I get a treasury bill certificate in my name for a secondary market deal?

Chai see oga Einsteino trying to lock in that POF. It is well.

To answer your question, you just have to request for it and it will sent to your mail address. Also like everyone already suggested, UBA T-Bills is sh*t as they usually offer substantially low rate compared to Stanbic and Firstbank. But if you don't wanna go through the hassles of opening new account with them, then you can also by from UBA. Good luck.

I'm anywhere there's money to be made o my oga.

If you're going secondary, then Firstbank might be a better choice. Stanbic is ideal for primary but those are the two leading banks when it comes to T-Bill rate.

It depends on the tenor and what's generally available. So usually you don't know the rate until you are in the bank and they show you what they've got.
