Smart way to do it; hide under one Ministry arm to get yourself that much desired private jet. It doesn't have to come from church funds as usual so peeps don't say jack. The funds for this Jet was raised for his offer 7 (Dec 7 birthday) but it was speculated that gifting it to him on his birthday may raise eyebrows. Hiding it under the performing muscians umbrella and giving it 3 weeks before the birthday seem to be the best bet.

This is to just boost his own ego and propel him to the league of Nigerian pastors with private jet. He probably engineered and envisaged it for long.
This is to show that the higher hierarchy human care less about those that are lower, they'll rather keep going higher than raise people below them to their own par. Religion is a scam to help put human in a control society and make them unable to question their environment and personal thought and conviction. Break yourself from this close system of believe or whatever tends you to make decisions on what others approve as the right thing. Work on yourself, read, learn and assimilate your environment and win before you die. Those pastors and politician and co-operate lord are already ruling their own world.
Be a better version of yourself and never accept to be gullible in any form. Seek knowledge and use it to either win or at least be sure of your stand in life.

How much is the jet, and what is the networth of the people who contributed to buy it? Anyways, what do I know. It's obvious that the trending thing, is for pastors to own private jets. I really want to be super rich and successful someday so I can show these people, how things should be done. In my humble opinion, these pastors do not need all these private jets they keep buying.

My guess is that the church ‘donated’ money to their department with the understanding that after lavishing generous gifts on themselves the balance will be used to buy a jet for him. Only the head of the department needed to know about the plan. The others have no incentive to complain after collecting lavish gifts of up to $100k (according to a Nairalander in his church) from the same fund.
