Proverbs 1:10-16
[10]My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent. [Ps. 1:1; Eph. 5:11.]
[11]If they say, Come with us; let us lie in wait [to shed] blood, let us ambush the innocent without cause [and show that his piety is in vain];
[12]Let us swallow them up alive as does Sheol (the place of the dead), and whole, as those who go down into the pit [of the dead];
[13]We shall find and take all kinds of precious goods [when our victims are put out of the way], we shall fill our houses with plunder;
[14]Throw in your lot with us [they insist] and be a sworn brother and comrade; let us all have one purse in common–
[15]My son, do not walk in the way with them; restrain your foot from their path;
[16]For their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.
how this related to private jet or my coment?

[quote author=joshnes post=62707419]I admire your knowledge base, and I can see that your issue is not the jet but that the money should have been used for the needy. You seem to be a good researcher, have you researched on Pastor Chris & Christ Embassy's efforts to reach out to the needy? Let's leave that aside, you said the money should be used to meet the needy ones, let me ask you how many needy ones have you met their needs? With your little income, how many people's lives have you touched? How many people can point at you and say "this guy has been a blessing to my life" not because of the relationship that exists between you guys but because of your impact. It is easy to point fingers at people, but you, what have you done with the little you have? which needy have you helped? Your moaning reminds me of one of Jesus' disciple who was against a gift given to Jesus. His reason; the gift should have been sold and given to the poor. Sounds familiar? I earnestly desire that you do not end like he did.quote]Shut up there your arguement is baseless.

If you have 2 pairs of shoes, 2 wristwatches, 2 mobile phones (especially phones worth over 20k) , live in a luxurious apartment, drive a car ( probably a millennium Car) , club every weekend, etc and you have poor persons around you who can't even afford a quarter of the cost of your breakfast..... and you come here to criticize Pastors...... I think you should start with yourself.

We keep shouting Poor People's Tithe as if any poor man has told you he gave his tithe to a pastor....

First remove the speck in your own eye, then you can see the log in your neighbor's eye.

I would want to see the leader of the poor people's association come out one day and lay charges against these Pactors being accused daily.

how many of you would sacrifice 100k+ you probably saved up to buy an IPhone for the Poor
how many poor people have you given half of your salary at least?
How many poor market women have you paid their house rent without rushing to post pictures on facebook?

Until you have eradicated the poverty in the lives of the Poor around you, then you shouldn't accuse any pastor.

Una Weldon o
Bros i understand ur arguement but it holds no water. look when u r a pastor and u receive money from members thru offerings and tithe, they are contributing to d work of God and not "the work of God in ur life". note dat. u r not free to use the money for anything as u like.it is not ur money so the money must be spent in a way that people will see and say "yes"," i am happy i contributed to this ministry ". "see how many lives have been saved and touched". And you must also note, in a world were there were horses, chariots and carriages, Jesus only rode once on a donkey. more often, he trekked. not because he couldnt afford a carriage or chariot or horses but because he really couldnt. he never collected offerings and tithes so he didnt have enough to afford luxory. he even gave d poor the little he had. he chose to be poor bcause he knew dat wealth is not bad but followers of christ should try as much as possible to be modest and flee from unusual wealth. even if u have it by grace, dont embrace it. just use it to help others and ofcourse, try not to buy a private jet.. the worst is even trying to justify it.i think the latter is a greater sin.

The person that did juju for the present politicians in Nigeria really tried o
Our bewitched youths cannot even ask common chairman how the monthly allocations are being spent but once it is church matter everybody have ideas.From the Church should build universities for people to attend free of charge;some have raised the bar here.Church should use jet money to construct roads;oyakilome should have used the jet money to construct hospitals.What of the people in government.What have they done?Why are Nigerians salivating over church issues while the people voted to power are left alone.Is it hatred for the Church or something else.The efforts devoted to very few pastors with jet should be shifted to those sitting over trillions of Naira without anything to show for it.Leave the Church and Christians alone.After all those paying the tithes are not complaining so why taking Panadol for another person's head ache if not because of joblessness and lack of drive to live for something better.Hushpuppy sent #11million on whiskey and cigarettes in just one night none of these jobless youths complain why should it be anybody's cup of tea if I give all my money to a pastor?

Do you give out of abundance or for the mindset?
I have paid school fees for kids even when I never thought of engaging my wife.

Abeg in the Roman Catholic Church of Nigeria, none of their priest is ordained without receiving a car even when the women who contributed to it don't have bicycle.

It's is never the duty of the church to build social amenities. If they do be happy. But don't demand it. Of them.

But why is it that Nigerians have issues with giving while their arms are always open to receive?

Please can someone answer these questions for me ?

1. The givers of the gift - do they all or does any one of them have a private jet of their/his own ?
I just happen to wonder if someone can give what he doesn't have to another.

2. How many of the heads of the following global churches have private jets ?
Catholic, Anglican, Methodist, First Baptist, Lutheran, Eastern othodox churches ?
Can someone please ?

Bros i understand ur .....

Brotherly... I actually don't reply mentions, e dey weary me. However, I get your view point, but I must say that your assertions about the "Poverty" Jesus enjoyed is wrong.

That colt he rode was virgin and unused.. let's equate that to a brand new Car. of course that was the means of transportation in those days... Mark 11:2
And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.

Second is the fact that Jesus had his needs met by certain rich folks especially women... Luke 8:3
And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance....

third is the fact that He didn't wear a poor man's cloth .... so much that people fought to collect it

John 19:23-24 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

As for Tithes and offerings, Jesus was not concerned with the duties of a Priest, there were still Temple priests who took care of that side... little wonder he mentioned it in passing to the Pharisees... He knew there were more pressing issues that needed to be dealt with and didn't expect anyone to have issues with keeping that Law

Matthew 23:23
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

His assignment was to die and salvage mankind from SIN, SICKNESS, POVERTY, etc, remember the Bible said He became poor that we might be rich... 2 Corinthians 8:9
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Galatians 3:13-14 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

I wish you would show me one thing about Christ that suggests a Pastor should be Poor and shouldn't use a private jet.
These are tools of evangelism bro.. Have you ever missed a flight and had a life changing appointment same Day.. I bet you would jump into the next available private jet if you are offered one. same way, there are a billion souls who have appointments with Destiny that a private jet would hasten.

howbeit, Jesus commands modesty. I don't support any flamboyance or showmanship of any sort and to the best of my knowledge, a few of our Nigerian Pastors have conducted worthy lives.

That mindset that makes one bother about a pastors private jet and have sleepless nights over that matter is a poverty spirit... Destroy it before it does same.

Remember Judas....? He was angry that a lady poured an expensive perfume (the worth of a year's salary) on Your and my Christ....

Now when Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, a woman came up to him with an alabaster flask of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he reclined at table. And when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? For this could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor.” NIV Matthew 26:6-9

The disciples reveal to us that the ointment used was expensive, but we do not know its exact cost. What makes the ointment so special and why is it so valuable? The ointment came for Northern India and was made of pure nard. The worth of the ointment was about a years worth of wages. Nard is made from a plant that grows in the Himalayas and is used as ointment or perfume. The cost of the ointment was worth about 300 denarii, about $54,509 in U.S. dollars. The disciples where not only shocked by the cost of the ointment she was using, but of the amount that she was using. This act of devotion was seen as waste to the disciples. The cost of the ointment that she used was shocking to me as well. It takes devotion and selflessness to do something like that. She probably did not think twice about using it. The ointment that she used was intended for her own burial but instead she used it for Jesus. She also probably spent her life savings for it. This act shows her trust, devotion, and love that she had for him. I think it would be difficult for people today to do something like that. In the world we live in today, the value or cost of something can often times overshadow or distort the moral and meaning of something.

Go to church you won't go, but from afar you all know how to play God and judge pastors because of their stupendous riches. when this guys were nothing we did not hear your noise about them o. now that they have amounted to something enviable, you all want them roasted. not here to argue with anyone. but one thing I know about this great God in heaven, you can never be poor both physically and spiritually if you have been chosen by Him to do his work.

I love pastor chris as a pastor and teacher. However, if the analysis made is true, then I have no more respect let alone love for any of them. Do you know what it means for a man pr aching cHrist to fly on a plane which takes over a billion to run in a year - money that can build modern hospitals? If this is true then it's true of other pastors. I will be ashamed of them all if true. May god forbid abominations as this claim.

Pastor slave, if you read that post with your senses intact, you would see dat it wasn't just about how Pastor Chris squandered money; it was also about Chris lying to the world that it was a gift.

Imagine someone who claimed to be controlled by the Holy Spirit lying blatantly!

How do they even manage to stand up and preach knowing fully well that their lives and hearts are ruled by deceit and lies!

You Pentecostals have missed it. There is nothing Pentecostal in your conducts and those of your pastors.

Is it not the same song they sing that Frank Edwards and sinach sing? Or do they sing their own in heaven and got paid in gold.
