BlackAce31:It's funny how Catholics shy away from this phenomenon going on in Catholic Church, only to be pointing hands at Pentecostal churches. People were making noise about that Pastor Adeboye video, meanwhile such stuffs also happens during Harvest period in Catholic Churches. Catholic priests are getting worse because no one is raising any alarm about what they are doing because people are preoccupied with Pentecostal issues. |

NORSIYK:The old law wasn't faulty, people corrupted it and it was bulky tho. Christ came to make it easier for us to observe the law not to abolish it. |

Matthew 21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. That's exactly what they do when doing their harvest and bazaar Luke 20:46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; 20:47 Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation. I will always condemn the way this people do things |

Harvest and Bazaar is mainly the end of year thanksgiving and celebration in the catholic church. Because of its less emphasis on tithing, this is majorly the opportunity to raise funds for major church projects. It is also a time to socialise, eat and drink together and thank God for the blessings of the whole year. Almost every catholic looks forward to that day. I dont know about your faith, but this practise is a modern day adaptation of the original tithing instruction as originally recorded in the early part of the bible (I have forgotten). Those food cooked and sold (subsidised) are purely donated by various people. The atmosphere is usually celebratory. I dont see anything wrong with harvest and bazaar at all. |

2shure:Softly,, softly dey lie o, bro. I'm no more a Catholic, but I grew up as one and attended Catholic churches all my life and all your nonsensical claims up there are either fabricated or distorted. So you can quit peddling the anti-Catholic horseshiit they brainwash you with in your Pentecostal den of money-hungry thieves. And what the hell do you think a charity auction is meant for? Did the people buying auctioned items in church for several times the market prices tell you they don't know the real price of what they're buying? The very idea behind it is to generate money for charity or church projects and those buying those items are donating the money to the church. It's all done in good fun and partakers feel blessed to do it. Unlike the greedy Pentecostal thieving church leaders who basically arm-twist and threaten their members into giving everything from tithes to "first fruits" and every other scam they devise, there is absolutely no coercion or compulsion to participate in the yearly harvest/bazaar activities. Growing up as a child, during Bazaar, my parents just bought snacks and food (at cheap prices too), allowed us to play on the rides and bouncing castles for kids that the church erects, and then we went home. |

Gammfreak:Bazaar is a fund raising gimmick .. nothing more and the harvest that 8s practices in your church has no scriptural support Catholic and orthodox are the ones involved in those hsrevet of bringing goods, both preparers and raw and selling same at very exorbitant prices to people while also engaging in raffle draws and gambling |
| Re: What Is Your Take On Harvest And Bazaar? by Chevalier(m): 2:22pm On Dec 03, 2017 |
NORSIYK:The second covenant came not to abolish the first but to make the first easier to decipher. Remember when Jesus simplified the 10 commandments thereby making it 3, the rest 7 wasn't abolished but was embedded in those 3. |

Catholics initially don't pay tithe because Harvest and Bazaar represents how tithe is to be paid and used (Deuteronomy 14:22 to end.) . But because of pressure from congregants they succumb to it. |
